The pancakes are great. The hashbrowns soggy. The Applewood smoked bacon may have been old, not tasty. What bothered me most is the rude woman that came in behind me and went in the kitchen and stood and talked over my food with the cook. Mediocre and slow service. Super salty food and weak-sauce pancakes that tasted like out of a box. They say maple syrup on the menu but it's def some cheap alternative corn syrup product. They also sell americanos and cappuccinos for $7 from what looks to be a tiny keurig pod machine. We waited 45 minutes for our food and they messed up the order. They price their food like it's an elevated experience (and even have a poster of their Michelen-starred chef!) but the whole place is big on vibe and lacking in detail (even the toilet seat was busted) and trying to cover for it with extra salt and butter. read more

I had incredibly high hopes for this place with the reviews. Unfortunately, the service was god awful ruining the whole experience. I do want to note that I've worked in hospitality for 14 years so this review comes from experience in the industry and not just someone being a Karen. We made the reservation week or two in advance. When we showed up, they didn't seem the least bit prepared. There was a decent wait for our table to be cleaned for us. Once we were seated we were told to just order from the QR code because they were short staffed. They made that statement many times about being understaffed (which is weird because it's a small restaurant and there were 3 people covering the floor). Yet they took the order of the table next to us. We were never even offered water while we waited. You couldn't even order water from the QR code. We had to ask for it when the servers were even anywhere near our table to flag them down. Each request for necessary items seemed like an inconvenience to them. My friend ordered pancakes for a few of us to split and it was the first food item to come out. Even with the pancakes delivered, we were never provided silverware or napkins. The server didn't even think to check if we had them at our table when the food was delivered. My friend ended up getting them herself from the bar. My other friend ordered just a plain cup of coffee with her breakfast. It was never delivered. We brought it to the attention of 3 different people but the coffee was never provided. When we were done with our meal, we simply asked for the coffee to be removed from the bill. For some reason they could not do this and said they had to call Toast (the software company) to fix it. How do they not have the ability to do this themselves? There is extremely poor attention to details and lack of anticipating guest needs. It's unfortunate the staff simply don't care about guests or they're just burnt out because the food was good but not good enough for me to return. read more

It's a nice restaurant but the service was extremely slow. The staff was pleasant enough, and the food was good but didn't really seem to wow - which would have been fine if we didn't wait almost an hour to receive our food. There are not very many tables at the restaurant and even though we were patient we felt like we were forgotten about. Even the orange juice and standard coffee took roughly 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered. Was interested in coming back before we sat, but afterwards we just didn't really feel like returning. Second time here. I came with my son and husband and we all shared the Eggs Smoked Salmon Benedict, the Blintzes and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. The Benedict and Blintzes were divine, absolutely perfect. The chocolate chip pancakes were good pancakes but there weren't enough chocolate chips inside the actual pancakes or on top. The service was exceptional once again and everyone we interacted with was helpful and efficient. Pleasant atmosphere too. Coming early we had the restaurant to ourselves. Top notch breakfast. My smoked salmon omelette was perfect. My daughter enjoyed her fluffy pancakes with strawberries and blueberries on top. They also juice real fruit for apple and orange juice. You can tell everything was fresh since the order didnt come out in 3 minutes. Excellent service provided by Tyler. The mood and design of the restaurant is also on point. Tip for first timers; the breakfast is until 11 am and inside the restaurant "Calichilli". Only signage for pancake simply breakfast is a makeshift sign on ground. read more

The only reason Pancake gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food tasted good. What is important to note is our food took 45 minutes to come out. We were a party of 9 so there were a few plates but this breakfast place took way longer than anywhere I've ever eaten brunch to make simple breakfast food. We had a birthday in our party and her food took the longest, just three chocolate pancakes and some whipped cream should not take almost an hour to come out. Also, the place was practically empty, so you can't even blame crowds on why food took so long. The waitress forgot 2 drink orders too, but another thing I noticed is the food runner and the waitress did not "pre-buss" which means taking empty plates off the table to make room for new ones while the party is still seated. The food runner should pre-buss along with the server, it's efficient, easy, and makes a good impression on customers. I saw 2 chefs in the kitchen, it's hard to believe they would need a third chef but maybe they do if it takes that long to serve some breakfast. The food is good but the service isn't good enough for me to return sadly. Our waitress was hospitable but the food runner wasn't which threw the vibe off. Simply just checking on a table and few minutes, asking if anyone wants refills, and writing down drink orders so you don't forget them goes such a long way. Because even though I made a reservation directly on their website for five of us for 11 a.m. yesterday, when we got there we were told they were closed and would open back up for lunch after twelve. We had driven down from L.A. and friends had driven up from Newport Beach to have breakfast, and I'd specifically done research to make sure I found a place where my extremely picky eater child would be able to find something he liked. Credit to the waitress who helped me, she did go back to the kitchen to check and she did point us to another place down the street. But what if there hadn't been? And there was no effort made, we didn't see a manager, we weren't even offered a to-go cup of coffee in case we had to wait at the other place (Another reason I chose them, as they took reservations. Which apparently don't really mean anything since you can make a reservation for when they aren't open.) Save yourself the aggravation and go down the street to Village Cafe. This place was sublime, feels like a hidden gem for breakfast. The server was super lively and nice. The apple juice is actually made with apples, which sounds ridiculous to write out but realizing I've never had genuine apple juice. Had Chicken & Waffles with a side of Hash Browns. The waffles were a bit dry/dense but the chicken and hash browns were probably the best I've ever had. Mom had Eggs Benedict and Bacon, also were great. The place also looks super nice, seems to turn into CaliChilli once it hits noon, and I'll have to keep note to come back for the breakfast and for when the bar opens. Wanted to try a new place with amazing looking breakfast items per yelp. We (party of 2) Arrived there around 10am ish on a Saturday. People where already seated as expected. Once walked in not knowing the normal process of this establishment weather it was self seating or wait for hostesses. Water more than 5 min with no one to greet or advise on status. Saw all the tables that had occupants not having any food led me to belive they were understaffed and backlogged on orders. Unfortunately after waiting a few more minutes standing there like idiots. Just decided to leave and take business elsewhere. I'd like to give it another try perhaps in future when I got more time to sit around and hope it will be better. Upon arrival I was wondering if I was at the right location. The signage was a bit confusing. Once inside at 8am on a Saturday, the restaurant was empty and I stood at the entrance for a few minutes. I was finally seated and the restaurant smelled like dinner from the previous night. I ordered coffee and pancakes. The pancakes took a while to arrive, but were delicious.
