It was really good and not too sweet like it can be. I ordered a huarache with carnitas and my husband ordered chilaquiles with red and green sauce. The chilaquiles were so good he had them gone in a couple of minutes. I didn't have a high expectation of my lunch because it was not on a masa base, it was a tortilla. I still ordered it because I figured the tortilla would be a lighter meal for lunch and I wouldn't feel as drained as if it was masa. My huarache had a base of some of the best refried beans I've had in a long time and let me tell you about the carnitas! In the area we used to live in, carnitas was generally served as shredded pork. Here, it was chunks of meat and I was a little anxious that they would be tough. But oh, the meat was so tender! I barely touched it with my fork and it fell apart! I barely had to chew it. I was really only chewing the tortilla. It was flavorful without being too spicy, so the taste of the carnitas could shine through. Honestly, this place is a little unassuming hole in the wall type of place in a weird strip mall that also has a surgery center and a gym in it. The presentation was awesome, as it arrived on a wooden board. The empanada was cut into 4 pieces and was filled with chicken tinga and cheese.
