The manager (wearing black) helped me, but she went straight to taking my order without greeting me or offering a sample. I asked for one, and instead of the usual toothpick, I was given a fork. The orange chicken was burnt, the fried rice looked dry, and the steam table was messy. On the plus side, I didn't notice any empty pans. The best part of the experience was Tiona. It has been several years since I ate here. The food has not changed although prices have gone up. A bowl of fried rice with Beijing beef and a drink was $10.60. It seemed the same as I had several years ago so I don't know why this store got so many bad reviews. The food and service were very good. Great food here. It's a pretty good deal too. Generous servings with the two-item. I love the mushroom chicken. Meat is properly velveted. Sauce is just thick enough. And the wok flavor pushes through. Orange chicken is a close second. Not too sweet, which can be a problem at some places. At this location, the meat in the pepper beef was a bit tough on two separate occasions. Never had that issue at the Crater Lake store. My only complaint. The menu in the Kahala Mall, Honolulu location is much fresher, and they serve Chow Fun noodles, Yum!!! Went thru the drive thru...the man that was on the other end was not friendly and I wasn't even sure we were done after I ordered. I picked up my meal paid and when I got home discovered I did not have any orange chicken I had ordered. They are not around the corner so did not go back. I ordered Kung Pow Chicken at the drive through. My meal was given me in plastic bag, so I could not see it. Got it home and it was Orange Chicken, which is inedible to me. Lesson: never use the drive through at the South Medford location. I wrote to the Panda Express website in the hope that they would let the South Medford location know of the problem in case it can be corrected. They made me jump through some unpleasant hoops then did not communicate with me again. Not even an apology with a "we'll let them know." Nothing. I ordered a 2 item combo from the app & requested a fork & napkins also. I picked it up in the drive thru & had to wait awhile once at the window. I drove 5-10 minutes away to eat only to find I had no fork (or napkins). I drove back & went inside. There were no forks anywhere so I had to wait in line to ask for one. There was 1 couple at a table eating, 1 customer waiting in line & 1 customer waiting for something. The store was very dirty. There were multiple dirty tables & the corner counter where the napkins were was also dirty. A (Assistant) manager named Angie asked if there was a problem. I said yes, told her the above & that my food was cold now. She handed me a fork/napkin packet & said, "I'm sorry" & walked away. Apparently that's her idea of good customer service. Not only did my food end up being cold but it tasted terrible & wasn't the quality that I was used to from Panda Express. We went to the location closest to our home and there was a VERY long line at the drive through so we parked and saw signs posted on the door "dining room CLOSED for remodeling. We decided to drive to another location 4 miles from our location. They were open but as soon as we walked in noticed another VERY long line of people waiting to order. I knew there was a problem when I heard one of the cooks shout what do we need next??? The person in charge just shouted back "We Are OUT of Everything". After about a 15 minute wait we went to place our order. Guess what They were out of about 3/4 of the items. We paid and waited about another 15 minutes before we got our order. What I like about this location, and this is true of all the fast food restaurants in this area, is that there is outdoor seating so you can eat outside with your dogs. Well, after a long wait I was finally greeted with a "huh?" by the counter server. I asked for the orange chicken and she mumbled something and I had to ask what she said. I requested rice and ordered the spring rolls, which seemed to be hard for her to understand although I was pointing right at the item. Terrible customer skills. Doesn't look like she likes her job. The food was yuk once I tasted it, the orange chicken tasted like batter fried batter, with some sweet sauce. I literally couldn't detect chicken inside the batter globs. Of all the Panda Express locations I have been in, here and many in Florida, this one in Medford is the absolute worst. Rude people that take the orders and when I mentioned that there were too many hot peppers in the chicken the lady then put even more in the to go order. Management needs to take a look at who they are hiring. If they want people to return they should correct this. I suppose they don't actually care, it's just a job. read more

The quality of the food and service appears to have gone down significantly over the last couple of years. Burnt teriyaki chicken, noodles that tasted under-sauced, broccoli beef with 99% broccoli and only five or six penny sized beef pieces, root beer that tastes like it was mixed with Gatorade or something (we still don't know what that weird taste was.) Our family has repeatedly come back hoping that it was due to training issues or just odd, rare mistakes. (I can understand a small issue here or there.) Unfortunately, there has been a minimum of one weird thing off with our food the last four or so times we've gone. The last time we went the employee on drive thru was either new and inexperienced in drive thru (which is understandable if that was the case) or just didn't care to maintain the usual drive thru protocol and didn't come across as professional. Either way, it's unfortunate. Sometimes I crave teriyaki chicken or orange chicken and I like the kind that this location used to serve. Now it's a letdown every time we go. Maybe I'll try again in a year and see if they've improved, or maybe I'll just drive across town to the other location in hopes of a better overall experience. read more

I get two meals at least once a week for my 90 year old mother. I ordered the usual bigger plate that comes with rice or noodles and three entrées. The girl serving me was giving me half servings. The extra box with the meal is very small. She filled it half full. I also ordered a large box of teriyaki chicken. She also filled that box half full. I told her the box wasn't full. She tried to tell me they were almost out of chicken, I told her I was not paying for half a box. I asked the man that was taking my money to look in the boxes. He told me she was new. I said well you need to show her the portions. He said they were fine I must get a generous person most of the time. I told him I was not paying for half a meal. We came through here Monday night. We ordered our usual and a large green iced tea. As soon as the employee handed me the iced tea, I checked it right away because every single time I come through and order an unsweetened green iced tea, it's always a black iced tea or a sweetened black ice tea. I handed it back to the employee right away & told her that it wasn't what I ordered. She told me that they were out of the unsweetened green tea. I said, that's okay just refund me for the tea. We hadn't even been given our food yet, just the drink. She said we don't give refunds. I then said that I didn't order the black tea. She maintained her stance and said they don't give refunds. I asked for the manager & the manager also maintained her stance saying it's against their policy to give refunds. She offered me something for "free", however it wouldn't be free because I already paid $2.50 for a black iced tea I didn't order. And now I was being told I would be given more food or something else that I didn't need or want that would be in exchange for the $2.50 I already paid for a black tea I didn't want or order. When she saw I was asserting myself and wasn't backing down, she walked away and came back with 3 wadded up dollar bills. It literally looked like she went and dug in her purse and brought me the $3. Which was $0.50 more than what I was owed but she told me to keep it. I felt bad that these young ladies had to uphold a bad policy that was not the very basics of customer service. They were just doing their job and for me, it wasn't about the money as much as it was about the principal. I had already been through there many times before and the same thing happened and I never went back. I told the young ladies who were very nice but trying to uphold the policy of no refunds that it was just about the principal of the situation. Needless to say we did get our food but it was now cold. What kind of company has this policy especially a restaurant where they are serving customers. Not a good company to work for and not a good company to serve customers. I hope this policy changes. I can understand if I mistakenly ordered something and changed my mind but this was not my mistake. This was a mistake the restaurant made. Anyone reading this, please assert yourself and stand up or standards in this valley will never change at restaurants and we all know the standards here are pretty low. read more

Some concern about hand washing as I observed a server go out to the front parking lot, speak to someone out there, then return immediately behind the counter and serve... all without washing up! Then was over charged for my food, got charged for 2 egg rolls instead of spring rolls which was 2 for $1.95, didn't notice til had already gotten away from this place unfortunately otherwise would of gone back in. Panda Express is Panda Express same menu, same flavor. We probably eat it once a month. I like the Beef and Broccoli and teriyaki chicken. In Medford for softball and I'll say that this place was packed with people in the drive through and inside and the people who work there are working their asses off and despite the large crowds they were friendly and super efficient.
