I've gone to the Medford Panda Express quite a few times since 2018. All other times it was good but tonight was totally unacceptable. We went just last month and it was good. The Sweet Fire Chicken was NOT Sweet Fire Chicken. It was like they put some orange chicken in sweet fire sauce and called it sweet fire. On top of that it was crunchy like a potato chip, not joking. Totally over cooked. The noodles were cut up to about 2 to 3 inches long, not the normal long soft noodles. And tasted like they were three days old. They were grey, not golden. My daughter wants to make sure I mention the dark grey boogery bits that looked like lint in the noodles. My wife wanted to go to In 'N Out but my daughter and I wanted Panda. What a mistake. 09/02/2023. Update - on 9/6/2023, manager gave me replacement meals. The restaurant had a full complement of employees and the food is what I expect from Panda, very good. Not sure what was going on the night of the bad food but I'm still going to eat there since they made good on the food. It's Panda! What really made me write this review is that they use paper shells instead of styrofoam for the plate size meal - that's AWESOME!! I've been to this location a couple times, and each time is the same. Old, dry food and rude, young people working. I asked if I could get fresh egg rolls because the ones sitting there were quite dark. The gal working said they were supposed to look like. I've never had any that dark in color. I'm trying to choke down my noodles, but they are dry, like they've been sitting too long. So much grease in the bottom of the well holding my Kung Pal chicken. The larger pieces of sweet fire chicken have some good chicken, but the smaller pieces are rocks. I can't believe food is this bad at 5:30 in the evening. I came in around 6:30 on a Friday night, I usually go to the Delta Waters location, but it was more convenient to come in to the alternate location in S. Medford. My main reason for going to Panda Express is always for the honey walnut shrimp. I enjoy the fried tempura and the crisp glaze that finishes the shrimp in a wok. They were out of shrimp, but they explained it will be ready in a few minutes and I agreed to wait. I observed the gentleman who was making the dish, and noticed he very briefly let the shrimp be in the wok before plating (it was less than 5 seconds). I still ordered what he made, as well as the orange chicken and fried rice, took it to go. As I feared, the tempura was lacking the flavor I'm always looking for, tempura felt soggy. The orange chicken I was given was only little nuggets, none bigger in diameter than a nickel. The fried rice was dry and pale, and lacked the soy it needed to not be where it should. There were lumps of white rice scattered throughout. Overall, worst experience I've had at any grab and go Chinese restaurant. I strongly recommend hitting up the N. Medford location if it's convenient. Friendly staff, excellently executed food, and great atmosphere. read more

We come here often, the past 3 times the portions are small and tastes different every time. Our orange chicken had a rock like and was extremely spicy. The teriyaki chicken was over cooked and hard. We pulled up to the drive thru and the speaker asked me if I wanted to try the new spare ribs, I said yes and she asked me if I wanted a three entree plate...yes again. I said spring rolls and kung pao chicken would complete the order, but could she please add teriyaki/mandarin sauce. Ok. Then I noticed my spare ribs were not listed on the order..."you'll get them". We paid and drove back around the corner to our hotel (literally three minutes away). I opened my bag (my fault for not checking there) and I had no napkins, no fork to eat with, 1/2 a serving of chow mein instead of a whole one, and sweet and sour sauce. I come to this Panda Express because it's close to home and a fairly convenient location. I usually go the drive through, but today we ate inside. All the food was fresh and there were no dry old looking selections. So we got Kung pao chicken and noodle chow mein. It was hot and spicy. The employees are all young and just seem indifferent- not particularly friendly, just basically asking what we want and putting it in the container. The restaurant is clean, the utensils and condiments were all full. So- decent overall. If the employees would have just had a smile and maybe a bit of personality then I would've given them all the stars- but not this time. We were totally ignored by every single staff member but had to stay because we ordered using the app and had to prepay.
