It was Mother's Day and my wife wanted Chinese food. So we picked panda express because they didn't serve pork. We ordered 5 meals plus 12 crab Rangoon. They forgot the crab Rangoon, I called many times no one answered. My wife then decided to go back to get the crab Rangoon. When she got there and told them what happened they pushed aside and told her to wait over there. She wanted a cold drink and again they ignored her. That's what I call bad customer service. Sometimes when you have a rough day and you don't feel like cooking, fast food is the answer. Panda Express just opened down the street and my boyf and I were walking by when we caught a whiff of the food. It reeled us in instantly. It was very clean and nice inside. I had only ever been to one of these in a mall food court so I was truly expected much junkier food than what we received. All the woks were full and all the food looked like it had just been put out. There were tons of different types of entrees and the woman offered us samples of anything we wanted. We each got two meat/veggie dishes along with rice. The to-go containers were totally packed. The total came to about $18. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. It tasted much healthier than your average Chinese take out. Taking a healthy route here is totally doable. I had the beef and broccoli and the string bean chicken, and my boyfriend had the walnut shrimp and orange chicken. Both were great. Not too salty or fatty. It was just right. Yes, the food is generic "food court/mall" Chinese but the people here are exceptionally attentive and nice. Nowadays? That's worth an extra 2 stars. I ordered online the other day and arrive *early* to pick up my order by about five minutes and the staff was completely apologetic that my order wasn't already made (even though I did tell them that I was earlier than the expected time). The nice guy behind the counter insisted on giving me a free sample of their latest chicken dish and finished up my order before I could say no! The staff members are almost always working hard, and the service is usually fast. One of the only places in this immediate area that offers meals with ingredients that aren't terrible bad for you. I was in the area shopping and decided to try Panda Express. My first impression is the store is very clean. The food looked fresh and delicious. The prices are a little misleading however. Please pay attention to context, a bigger plate ( one side and three entrees) STARTS at $9.70. I did not find out until I arrived at the register that they have premium entrees for $1.25 extra. I consider this misleading because it takes advantage of first time customers and folks who don't agree with the pricing but don't want to make a fuss in public. Also, I understand that shrimp is premium however one steak is, the other is not. I'm assuming one is Angus however I could not taste the difference. Enough about the prices, now onto the taste. The Chow Mein was tasty however the fried rice is very bland. Also, I thought fried rice would be brown and not beige. I ordered a side of crab Rangoon, very tasteless. The shell has a nice crunch but absolutely no seasoning in the filling. I've given up looking for crab in crab Rangoon but this was just a weak effort. The string bean chicken breast is oily, the mushroom chicken is watery and boring. There is so much more you can do with mushrooms. It would have been nice if they had added a little cornstarch to thicken the sauce. The honey walnut shrimp was yummy, hence the two stars. My father ordered the Shanghai Angus steak and Beijing beef. He was pretty disappointed and said we should have gone to Smash Burger. I tried it and the only difference was a little heat with the Beijing beef. My mom ordered the Wok-fried shrimp and is now also unhappy. There was a good amount of oil under the shrimp. I thought the idea of a wok was that it did not require a huge amount of oil nor heat, due to the design. It would be nice if someone let this location's staff in on the secret. I will not be going here again. For Chinese food, I'll go to Fusion Taste in Stoneham. Let me put it in a way Panda Express will understand, for Chinese food "start" anywhere else. read more

I love the food at Panda Express but the Express part in the name just got derailed with the online ordering . Now it is taking about 35 minutes to get the food . Today for example it was even worst . I was waiting in line with another 20 people . The server would attend 2 from the line and then move to attend 2 from the orders placed online. It was like the online orders were cutting in the line and indeed they were . Not fair to the people standing in line .If they want to to run a online ordering business that's fine , but do it like Pizza Hut's or Any local pizza shop that gives priority to in line customers . I had to order twice from this restaurant. First time I accidentally chose pickup when I'm not near the location and can't get there so I called the restaurant and told them I wanted it for delivery and not pick up. I had to talk to 2 people on the phone which was annoying. I told them that I wanted delivery not pickup and they said they couldn't do anything because it was already made, they couldn't even just get it delivered to me. They told me that they don't do delivery. So I asked them for a refund and they said they can't give me a refund because the manager had to give me the refund and they said that the manager wasn't there. I also asked them if they could cancel my order and they said that they couldn't cancel it because it was made. So I ordered again with delivery this time and I didn't get my whole order. Literally every fuckin time I order from here every damn order is wrong. Not one order that I purchase do they ever give me the things I paid for. I paid a sprite and when we got the order it says sprite on the cup but it's filled with Dr Pepper we also ordered a plate and asked for half fried rice half chow mein and they gave us a plate with no rice and only chow mein. That was all today I've ordered in the past to and it's always worse then today. The second time ok whatever now the 3rd time and from then on which is every other time including today.. honestly what the fuck. I got 2 lemonades and 1 sprite for my little sister and her friend. They got 1 lemonade 1 water and 1 coke. I got a sprite again like I always order that time they got me a coke and so did my mom. I will admit. I used to love Panda Express. The food and portions were decent. The service was always so-so. You pretty much got what you paid for. This was way back when they were a small operation in the defunct Meadow Glen Mall. Now, this location near Fellsway? They used to be good. Mostly decent. Now, they are horrible! The food hasn't changed. Still okay. I'll give them that. The price and value are too exorbitant for what you buy. The customer service however: Downright Shameful!!! I stopped going for a long time and pretty much boycotted Panda Express. I recently started going back because of COVID-19. My usual places to get decent Chinese food that was worth the value are temporarily closed. So, I thought I would give them another shot. Why? Because of the way they set up the restaurant for my safety and value. The first few times were okay. The last experience (and final). Boy, was I wrong! I ordered a 3-Plate combo and the check-out cashier said that they needed to make more Lo Mein. It happens. So I went to the pickup area (on the other side of the restaurant) after I paid, left the vestibule, and was waiting in the designated social distancing area. They called a woman who was behind me up and she started looking at the package they called her for. She said it wasn't hers. The manager, Andy, who was NOT wearing protective gloves asked whose order it was. I said it could be mine. There was no ticket on the package and before I could check and say anything (I was wearing protective N95 gloves), he tore open the package and showed it was mine. I looked at him and said, "Are you serious?" NO. GLOVES. He started giving me attitude, threw it out with unprofessional gusto and said he would make me another one. He did...WITHOUT GLOVES AGAIN!!! I asked to speak with his manager and he said she wasn't there. Since he only touched the bag and I was hungry. I took it home with prejudice. I was going to change containers anyway. When I checked it, it was WRONG!!! Only a 2-Plate Combo, not the 3!! Thoroughly disgusted, I had to drive back from Boston, had to use another pair of gloves (which are worth more than $$ these days), and told him to take it off my credit card. For some reason, the receipt was smudged, so he gave me cash. Honestly, I will NOT risk my safety for this!! If a manager, A MANAGER will not adhere to our current standards during the middle of a pandemic, what does that tell you? He should be ashamed of himself and so should all of the brass at Panda Express. Never again, even when this whole mess clears up. I'm not about to risk my health for your food. Got food via uber eats. I wanted Panda Express because of the new spicy chicken with the secret spice --- the secret spice is a ton of MSG & not spicy at all. The side of greens (broccoli) were bitter. The teriyaki beef ended up being chicken but didn't taste bad. Can't wait for that MsG/sodium bloat. Overall never again. read more

I have placed an order on a Saturday morning for pick up next day Sunday evening in June 2018 from this new location in Medford ma 02155. they confirmed my order and delivery time with the store phone number for contacts. on Sunday I went to pick up my order 25min earlier than my scheduled pickup time. to my surprise, the store was not in operation. not even open for business. I called the phone # provided in my confirmation for assistance. in 13 min I placed 4 calls to this number and no one answered the phone. I waited 20 min to contact someone to talk to. finally, I called the Cambridgeside Galleria location and the lady confirmed: " our new store not open yet". I wasted my time and I needed to get food for my guest. I went to a local Chinese take-out restaurant just 2 min away from this location and got my food. I called my credit card company to get a refund. Today I am told panda confirmed delivery of my order and i picked up. panda express had the audacity to confirm my order as scheduled and received money in advance without even open their unit for business, and tell my credit card company that i picked up my food. this is a fraud by this company. no one to contact. no one seems to care about the money they take from the general public. i paid substantially a large sum of money without getting a single item from my order. at this point i'm contacting the attorney generals office and the bbb. there is nothing called customer service in this place. so pathetic. read more

Their food tastes very good, however the language issue is horrible like when you tell them you have an order for Chris and they have no clue what you are saying so then they have you write your name and your order down on paper so they can talk to each other for 5 minutes and still have no idea what they're doing and now during the covert. When they have a waiting line outside only, they have no clue how to orchestrate that situation and they do not understand what a line is, no clue what front and back of a line means and worst of all when you are standing there at the door telling them what your name is and the GrubHub people continuously come up and stick their phone over your shoulder and then panda completely forget about you and will go run and get the GrubHub order, now I've been in line for 5 minutes this person showed up 5 seconds ago and is already walking to his car where is the six foot distancing rule, and then they can never seem to get the order right and when they forget to give you something they tell you just come back and we will give it to you, now when you tell them you just want them to refund your credit card, they'll come flat out and tell you they don't do that you have to come back and pick it up, or next time you remind us and we'll give it to you, good food but very poorly run. read more

Went in over an hour before closing, on mon, ordered many items, all large of Orange chicken (2) beef with broccoli, chicken with string bean, kung pao chicken, Shanghai beef, and (2) chow mein, drove home to find that they didn't pack my chow mein!???, Which was crazy! I ended up having to make some rice, and I was going to call them about it the next day, we started to eat and noticed that the Orange chicken was not cooked through!!!! Both orders were thrown out because I didn't want anyone getting sick.... The beef with broccoli and Shanghai beef were too pink in the middle so I had to microwave it through which just made it too tough....the chicken and string bean was cooked through but the sauce was so watery and flavor less...the kung pao was fine, but not enough heat...Terrible dinner! And we love Panda and never had this problem ever....maybe it was because it was close to the end of the night? I called them the following day and told them about how awful it was and how they never packed my chow me in and the woman who took my call was so rude and asked me, well what you want? And I said, well I want my money back for the missing chow mein and/or I would like my order to be replaced, with this..she answered no,no we don't do that! And hung up????? Really??? I was just going to let this go...but I spent too much to just not get a "better meal" like we usually have at Panda. Very Disappointed!
