I've been placing online orders to this location for a while, and always experienced some sort of issue. Whether it's they forgot to put in the requested sauces, given hardly any of either the entrees or sides. Always something. So I decided to try coming into the actual restaurant and making sure I get what I want. I noticed the person loading my plate didn't give much of the chow mein, so I asked if they could put a little more, and they rudely responded with "We only give one scoop," and moved on to the next customer. My teen daughter is thrilled that there is a Panda Express in Mountain View...and apparently all of the other teens from the local high school are as well. Watch out during lunch time because a horde of these kids rush in. If you are not stuck in line behind them, it isn't that big a deal, though. This location is prepared to serve them up quick and doesn't run out of food too fast. This location is just like most other Panda Express places. I'm sad that this one doesn't have pot stickers, though. :-( I mean, if I am going to go for this kinda fare, I am going to want some dang pot stickers. read more

I must admit, I've never tried Panda Express much before and really liked what they've got going on here. Make no mistake, their prominent offerings are unhealthy and fried portions of meat, but if you can choose wisely, you'll soften the blow a bit. I usually go with a 'Plate' containing Kung Pao Chicken and Eggplant Tofu with Steamed Rice and Mixed Veggies (half-and-half). The staff are efficient and the fortune cookies are mildly entertaining. read more

If I could give them zero or negative stars I would. Got there on time, had to wait an additional 25 minutes. When I complained, they looked for my order. It was sitting unattended at the counter - they basically handled every single walk-in ahead of all online orders. When I got home, the order was wrong, the portions were small, I asked for extra chili sauce and got none... I could go on, but you get the point. Never order takeout from there, or go elsewhere. I now understand why Panda Express in Mountain View gets such a low average rating 2. Here is mine. I usually go to the one on California Ave in Palo Alto. My typical routine is I order online and when I arrive , I call the store and let them know because of my disability they bring it out to my car parked in front. I don't mind waiting sometimes because I understand they get busy. I am a 55 senior with Cerebral Palsy who normally is in a wheelchair or using crutches. Not the easiest thing too carry food if you know what I mean. Tonight at approximately 7:30 pm I arrived at the Mountain View Panda Express. I explained to the person who was answering the phone that I needed some assistance with my Take out order and I was parked right outside there store in the disable spot. The employee said they were short handed and I had to just come in. When I requested to speak with the manager she said she was the manager in charge. Fortunately the customer in line saw the struggle I was having trying to stay standing with my crutches. She offer to help. I explained my situation dealing with Chronic Pain. I've always come to this panda to eat since it's close by many other stores. I like the fact that when it's busy they try to get everyone who's hungry get their food . Even though sometimes the plates r sometimes not always full or when I order my broccoli beef they don't put any beef sometimes small amounts. But over all the staff is polite and the food is not the best but good. read more

We've been trying to support local restaurants four times a week and decided on Panda Express on El Monte today. We ordered a large family meal online last night, and specified 12:30 pm pick up today. My husband arrived at 12:30 pm but our order hadn't even been put together yet. Several other walk-up customers were able to get their meals and pushed back our order even further. My husband waited outside for 40 min till our order was complete. I am going to be the first one to tell you that I am not the biggest fan of Panda Express. I realize Americanized Chinese food has its place, and yes I do like Americanized Chinese food sometimes. I just think that many of the dishes at PE are sub-par compared to a lot of the mom-n-pop Chinese restaurants. The only exception might be the orange chicken but that's because it tastes like sesame chicken you can get at most places. However, I went here to pick up some food for a work party (since I was overruled). The service was nice, and the lady at the tea bar asked if I wanted a sample. She made me some tea which was decent. The oolong milk tea here was okay. The boba consistency was not that great. But hey, if you want milk tea in a pinch and you just happened to be around here, sure. read more

I have a 10 year old, and Panda Express is one of her favorite places (that and McDonalds). We used to drive over to Palo Alto to get this, and we were thrilled to discover this new place opened up in Mountain View. They also have a boba tea bar right inside! Cool. Their food is good, typical Panda express, kids love it, and to be honest I like it too. The only thing I don't like is they do not serve the hot and sour soup at this location. I love the soup, so I wish they would bring this here. My favorite entrees are the honey walnut prawns, the angus beef, and the mushroom chicken. I also like to try their new stuff from time to time. Came here on a Tuesday night to claim claim a coupon for a meal. We arrived around 7:30PM and it was very busy. We thought we could avoid the line by ordering ahead via the app, but we just ended up waiting in an alternate line for online orders, which was inefficient in time management. Terrible staff. No manager on duty. Ordered on GrubHub for 11:30am pickup - arrived at 11:40am and food was not ready. I asked the staff when the food would be ready, and they mumbled "we are busy, it's a Sunday, and we don't have enough people." I followed-up two more times, and finally got my food at 11:58. I ordered a Thai iced tea, and Larry handed me some mysterious other tea, telling me that they don't have Thai iced tea on Sundays. He didn't ask me if I still wanted a tea if it wasn't my original order, or if I'd be okay with a replacement he unilaterally decided on, nor did he apologize. He told me that "it's not his problem." I asked to speak to a manager, but no manager was on the floor. "Khanh" is apparently a manager, but was only reachable by phone. Larry called Khanh and promised Khanh would issue me a refund the next day, when she is in. So I need to trust staff that can't be trusted to prepare an order on time (which involves scooping food into a plate)? Ridiculous. This place is run by teenagers who don't know anything about efficient operations. This should be an embarrassment to Panda corporate. read more

I love Panda Express and usually rate them 5 stars, but this location has poorly trained staff. The last 3 times I went to this location, they screwed up my order/payment, which is unbelievable given how simple their menu is. Last time, I ordered a 3 entree combo, which comes with a plate plus another small box. Cashier rings me up for a 3 entree combo plus an a la carte small entree. I try to tell him he made a mistake but he double checks my bag and insists it's a 3 entree + small entree. SMH This time, I ordered a 3 entree combo. They screwed up the order and packed one of the items wrong. So they said they would give me the wrong box for free. Except they didn't tell the cashier, who charged for that extra box. I told him the mistake, but he said he couldn't change the system, and could only give me yet another extra box (which I didn't want). Today is my birthday so I decided to treat myself to Panda Express. I came in at 10:00 Am and nothing was ready to sell. You'd think that there would be some preparation the night before but there was only Chow Mein. The cook did ask me what I wanted and he did cook it up but no rice was ready as well. This has to be one of slowest PE I've ever been in I'm not one to venture into a American Chinese restaurant, but when I need something quick I'll slum it. I've been dropping by this store a few times when I need to grab something quick and I keep kicking myself. I'm not sure who's training the staff, but they clearly have little concept of efficiency. I can't believe how long I've had to stand in line here on more than a few occasions. The food is typical American Chinese food. If you had to nail down a region I would say HK/Shanghai with wayyyy too much sugar sauce on everything. There are a couple items which are ok, but this is fast food and that's it. I really would just avoid this location if you are ever in a rush. Tip: Panda Express started its life as a restaurant called the Panda Inn in So Cal, now one of the fastest growing franchises which will one day be in China as American Chinese food. read more

The king of strip mall Chinese food. Having said that there's a time when this just really hits the spot. Shrimp and Walnuts are tasty, as is the orange chicken and chow mein. Service is always friendly, and the place is clean. With several restaurants next to each other parking can be tough sometimes. I just drive further out in the lot and park. I don't make a ton of effort to go there, but I'll stop when I'm nearby for something quick and tasty! read more
