Their food is fine to me, but my parents say that this location gives you less food than the one on Capital Expwy in the In and Out plaza. I've been here bout 5 times since my initial 1 star review - I take it back. 2.2 stars. It's not great in any fashion, but for a simple $6 dinner you can get the chowmain/fried rice combo, with black pepper chicken (surprisingly good, a new entree item that's why) and either a shrimp dish or the typical orange chicken (it is what it is ha). The hot and sour soup is 2.5 stars (not great, but definitely not too shabby), as is the corn egg foo soup (rather tasty with salt and pepper surprisingly). Don't just drop whatever your doing to come here. It was just out of convenience that I wandered in here. If a Chinese restaurant's floor isn't sticky, how can it be good? I had the 2 item combo with my fried rice. The majority of the selection is a variety of chicken items prepared differently, along with the staples of beef and broccoli, and sweet and sour pork. The orange chicken and the chicken with mushrooms was calling out my name. My meal was sufficient without having any stomach problems. Horrible place. The reason why I boycott Panda Express. The workers literally count out the pieces of food as they put it in the container. We ordered 6 servings, and every box is half full of food. You will not be getting any leftovers; the portion is so small, you can manage to eat it all and still be hungry. This has happened every time I go here, so I don't go here anymore. Food is cheap and fairly good quality, your receipt has a discount coupon for your next visit, service is really fast, they have a good variety of foods including vegetables. This place is terrible but it's mostly because of the employees here and their lack of customer service. Violeta the lady in the front of the line acts like she has never heard of the word sample in her life. Allow me elaborate on this more normal I'm one of those people who know exactly what I'm getting when I walk into a fast food restaurant and that is why I am there, however when I fast food establishment tells me more than 1 1/2 before they close that they don't have anymore of an item then I'm gunna need a sample to then figure out what I want. In addition to Violeta not understanding anyone and all the trays being pretty much empty Panda Express decided to change up their to go trays it very could be one of those weird mind tricks but I highly doubt it those portions are much smaller for the same price! I don't have a problem spending money on food I want to eat but when I giving my money to a company where their employees are rude to the only people giving them a job and then the portions are noticeably smaller for the same price there is something that needs to be done about this location. I get the employees have no control over what type of container the company uses in their pitiful attempt to be "green". But the employees do have control over their personal attitude and of they are not happy at their job well then go do something else and if this is the only job you can get then fix your attitude. In the end I will not go back to this place because I can support a company that allows their employees to act like this and change their packaging to a more expensive smaller Eco container and continue to keep their prices the same. read more

ok so honestly i haven't been to all that many Panda's only 2 or 3, but im happy with the service here, I mean one obviously doesn't go to Panda for a healthy Chinese meal, but some CHINESE FAST FOOD, and i know thats what i am getting here. The ladies who serve are quit friendly, and yeah sometimes around lunch time there are lots of people, but that would be the case at any place during their peak hours. Panda Express is very present almost everywhere you go. However, the experience of any restraint will vary depending where you go. This Panda Express in particular has servers who are fluent in English and tend to rub people the wrong way. Going into Panda knowing this had me feel uncomfortable as my food was being served to me. The server looked angry at me for trying a new entree they just brought in. Luckily the process was quick and easy. The meat related food is fine and rice is ok, I always go here for a good priced regular lunch. The rice is fine but the chicken has something that makes me like eating it even if there isn't much taste. After trying the chow mein for the first time, I went back to Starbucks to study and was suddenly extremely weak. A friend drove me home and when I got out of the car I threw up twice. The old workers use to give us more food... Now they are a little stingy but the food is good and not as oily as other panda expresses such as the cottle plaza. Their service and staff are very friendly because they greet you and offer you samples . The only reason why I didn't give this place a 5 was because of the lack of food portions, but I will definitely be returning to this panda express. read more

I love this panda! Out of all the Pandas in San Jose, this is the only one I'll visit. since its so clean and very friendly staff. Busy times or slow times, I can't figure out when to go that I don't have to wait "5 minutes" (12 minutes) So the rest of my order gets soggy while the other food gets cooked. I went to this location today around 8pm they put away majority of the food by 8pm. I don't understand if they close at 10pm why they can't make new orange chicken instead of saying they can't make anymore of the entree I wanted. At 8pm I don't think this is acceptable. Hours are 10:00-10:00pm I walk in last night at 9:02pm and two of the three doors are locked "DOORS ARE TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS" I asked the lady Kim who was working the counter about that and she said we start locking doors at 9 well my bad you have an hour left.. Which brings me to my next point they have all of 6 items to choose from I shouldn't be limited to just fried rice chow mein and orange chicken to accommodate for the "popular choices" nor should I have to wait 10 minutes for them to put together what I usually order because they decided to start cleaning 58 minutes before closing and put everything away!!! I disagree with previous reviewers who said you get small portions here. I found the portions more than generous. The food, when fresh is quite good, I recommend the black pepper chicken and the orange chicken. However don't go past 8pm because they stop making fresh food and the stuff they have gets a bit stale and dried out. I went for lunch today, and found that they are using very cheap paper plates that are very thin. The sauces soak through them. The paper plate feels like the old paper egg cartons. With these types of plates, the servers gave less food! I will not be going to any Panda Express that uses these types of plates! read more

This particular Panda Express almost is always it of at least a half dozen items and is painfully slow...the beauty of the Panda design is that the food is right there...all these folks have to do is shovel it on your plate...that seems to be a task that is far too difficult!
