If we ordered a plate with one that's steam rice only and the other half steam and half chow mein - and we need to substitute the steam for fried rice instead...how are you going to make both plates half fried rice and half chow mein!? And then when we correct you specifically saying only one plate will be half, you make both JUST FRIED RICE!? I expect better things at a senior level. read more

So my review is comparing this panda to all the other bay area ones and not to chinese restaurants. - first off, BIG PORTIONS! Panda! Panda! Panda! Panda! I got broads In Atlanta! Never mind me - I'm just singing the designer song lol This spot is decent. Every time I come to eat here it's nice and quiet. It's usually during my lunch. The staff are friendly. The place always looks clean. Plenty of tables so finding somewhere to eat won't be difficult. The parking is okay I guess. They share a lot with a bunch of other businesses just like all the other panda express restaurants. Try the orange chicken if you haven't. It's awesome!! read more

Food is good when you're feeling lazy to cook. Food is always fresh when I go there and the staff is really friendly. Beware when coming during dinner though, the lines can be ridiculously long!! No matter how early you go for dinner there will always be a line, so be patient! I think If they had more people working the line then there wouldn't be a 10-15 minute wait to order your food (just my opinion). read more

This place is really stingy with portions. Most of the Panda Expresses I go to give you a crapload of the rice/noodles and fill up the box with entrees to where the box is stuffed. Well not here, went here the other night and the guy literally counted out pieces of orange chicken as he was putting it into my box. I love this panda! Out of all the Pandas in San Jose, this is the only one I'll visit. Their kung pao chicken and shrimp is always on point with just the right amount of spice to kick your taste buds in the face. The staff usually gives me large portions and I always leave satisfied. One of the best times to eat here is around 11am when it first opens. The food is awesome when it's freshly cooked hot off the wok. That's the great part about going to EVC, after you get out of class you can rush this Panda and get a fresh meal. read more

When I am craving fast Chinese food, I always can rely on Panda Express. The portions are perfect and the service is quick. This location is the closest to my house and it is never busy. The food does not contain MSG which I like and they never run out of food like the mall locations. I like half chow mein, half fried rice, mongolian beef, and kung pao chicken, and a nice fortune cookie to top it off. I've been coming here since they opened and it seems they are going downhill. Many of the trays were empty of food which was surprising considering it was prime lunch time. The line was at least 15 people long and moving very slowly. The waste bins were full and overflowing. It seems very disorganized there. My strategy at Panda is to only order what is fresh in the food trays. I can't imagine the person in front of me ordering the beef and broccoli that looked like it was sitting there for hours. This place needs to get their act together before people quit going there. read more

I had very interesting experience on 2/7/19, at approximately 5:38 PM, while patronizing Panda Express (0713), located at San Felipe/ Yerba Buena. I ordered two (2) three item meals. The young lady who took my order was extremely polite and she took my first order (white rice, mushroom chicken and Kung Poa chicken.) This order was correct then I noticed the young lady putting chow mein into a small container. Now thats when things went south really fast. The older female cashier then ask if I had an additional order? I responded the second order was chow mein and two additional items. She immediately took the small box containing the chow main and returned it to the large tray containing the chow mein. I was shocked by her actions and I said are you going to recycle that food? She gave me this very confused look and I told her to disregard my orders. I never professed to be an expert when it comes operating a restaurant, however I would have accepted the second order had it been put into the large to go container like my first order. I found the actions of this worker completely unacceptable and not to mention some major public health concerns. I will be advising the Santa Clara county health department regarding the above circumstances. read more

This is the Panda Express closest to me in my neighborhood, so I'm kind of obligated to just come to this location. I never had a bad experience with the workers when I came in, therefore they are nice when I interact with them. 3 starts because I came in today and the amount of food they pack in the 2 item plate to go box is very little. I remember before they would PACK the box until it's full, but now they just skimp you on the food. And the pricing of Panda Express went up on the plates. I used to frequent this Panda Express (mostly for take out) - it's not that I don't like the place anymore (quite the opposite) but my wife is on a gluten free diet which makes eating here more of a challenge (so I only go when she is away for some reason). Good food, reasonable prices, large portions - all good. On occasion they are busy and you may have ~10 minute wait but that's to be expected given the previous attributes :-) Actually I find most of the time the delay is people that don't know how to order or what they want so they wonder along and look at everything or try samples ... in the absence of that the service is always pretty quick. read more

We wanted Chinese food for dinner, so I found this location on my Yelp app. I downloaded the Panda Express app and placed an order. We love the Panda Express location in Dublin, so this was my first time ordering at this location. Not all locations have the same quality food and level of service. This one surely matches the Dublin location. Our food was ready on time. I had to remove one star because I ordered a variety of sauces, but there were none in our bag. This Panda Express is one of the few places where local students can instantly acquire Chinese food that borders on "decent," and for a fast food chain with presumably inauthentic tastes, it certainly does the job and satisfies the taste buds very well. Judging by the long lines at 6-9 PM, it does well in terms of convenience and satisfaction for other locals as well. All of the entrees are pretty delicious in their own way, and combined with appropriate side dishes like white rice (I've seen people purchase horrifically saucy abominations that just can't be eaten properly with chow mien or vegetables), they're satisfying and filling as well. I'm also satisfied knowing that their veggie dishes are 90% fresh; I've stayed an hour seeing them chop up whole vegetables from the fridge and using the wok. Portions are relatively more-than-average. Recommendations include the teriyaki chicken, a great choice for first-timers and experienced Chinese connoisseurs alike, and string bean chicken, a delicious wok-smart veggie choice. While the texture and flavored may differ from those in other Chinese restaurants, I don't believe that bad-tasting food is a major problem, if at all. Sometimes there are consistency issues; the orange chicken is sometimes nothing but fried flour (instead of the usual goodness) covered in spicy sauce, and less often then not, the string beans are old and wilted (on the random weekday). The tofu in tofu dishes is sometimes dry, never fresh-tasting, though that's easily compensated with accompanying sauces and vegetables. While paying I ask for cup of water and two spoons. Dinh V. woman who made my plate, came back with one spoon and a cup, when I politely asked for another spoon, thinking she didn't hear me the first time, she said "One spoon per plate." Excuse me?! That's is the biggest BS I ever heard. I go to this place a couple a times a month, and it has been a huge disappointment lately. In an effort to not waste any food, they often stop cooking about an hour or more before closing. They will cook certain items upon request, but that means an extra 15 min wait. Last time I went they had old fried rice, no chow mein, and just a few old entrees available. I had to wait about 10 min for 2 people in front of me to finish their order. Once they finally got to me, I asked for orange chicken, which took about 10 more minutes for them to make. Very cheap on quantity compared to other Pandas. I would go so far as to say they serve a lot less than the mall pandas. For the walnut shrimp I got like 4 shrimps and for the beef with broccoli I got like 5 small stalks and a couple pieces of beef. No more going there for me. Panda Express is a fast and easy alternative to eating a greasy burger at McDonalds. At least I can justify I'm eating SOME vegetables! This location is pretty clean, lines move quickly when there is one. Food tends to be fresher when there's a crowd since they are continuously replenishing. If it's been sitting there awhile, or if you're the lucky one to get the last dregs of a certain dish, you can request a fresh portion, just have to wait for it (worth it).
