Just stopped by for dinner 7::45. Normally I love Panda Express in other areas but not this location. Truckee. There were two men in front of me that hadn't been helped. The woman in front of them ordered food for over 20mins. By the time she was done ,8 more customers were standing behind me. Both employees worked with this one woman for over 20 mins. Every other customer was completely ignored. Then when it was finally the next customer's turn there was very little food left. Only chow mein, rice and orange chicken. It is now 8:10 and this employee comes around the corners and says he will not be cooking anymore food. They close at 9:00 and he could have cared less that people waited 1/2 hr. There were at least 10 very upset customers. The owner of this establishment better remedy the cook's attitude. You will be out of business soon. We eat at Panda probably once a week (it's my toddlers favorite restaurant). Is the food good? Yes! Is the service good? It depends! We usually get the family meal and half of the time, if I'm not watching over them like a hawk, I get home and open a 3/4 filled container. It's really frustrating as it's not super cheap! With all the extras, I usually end up spending $35-$40. Some of the workers are amazing hence my 3 star review. Just make sure you don't go during rush hours (noon-1pm) or after 5pm or you will be stuck in some knarly lines. read more

The food at this location is acceptable but the stuff is rude and it is not just one person or shift. Recently I happened to order lunch there for two days in a row, and every time was mistreated by the same person. I can share details to the management if they contact but in short it looked like that: I am coming to the counter and the person on another end talks fast through the mask so I could not understand a word so I needed to ask for pardon to repeat. I asked for chow mein with orange chicken and for the second choice I asked to wait since there were a few people in the line in front of me and other entry choices were around the corner. When I told my choice, he already put into my plate double orange chicken and closed it, and took extra box to give me my second choice. I asked to replace double chicken orange chicken and my second choice. He initially protested and pretended he did not understand me due to my mask ... obviously just mocking me for my initial complain about his mumbling though the mask. Next day even worse, he has over charged me and did not put any sauce into the bag. When I came back and asked to resolve the issue with a payment, he was arguing, the receipt had 2 "chow main" sides though I ordered and got just one, then he said there was also extra charge of $1.25 for shrimps which I never been charged before and it was not even on their top menu on walls. He said that it is not on the menu but it is shown behind the glass at the counter for individual choices and then suggested that I have to remove my glasses to see that!? It may all sound funny but in reality all extremely rude. The last thing I would expect is to get my day ruined by attitude like that for nothing when I just come for 30 min to eat my lunch at this place. This is just one example as there were many more. This place is mismanaged, they never cook on time, always lines and delays especially when there is a Spanish speaking shift in place. In my opinion there is a room to start a new business and make it better for people but this place just needs to be close it is a shame. I got half friend rice and half chow mein, the amount of chow mein I got was hysterical. I should have said something having had to wait 20 min in line since there was only one person serving. Exterior of this location is very tastefully done, brick and wood paneling make it fit in with the rest of the area. Inside was very clean. Big selling point is a great outside deck with over a half dozen tables. It is surrounded by beautiful woods and catches the afternoon sun, a spectacular venue to enjoy an egg roll in. Surprisingly this location still uses styrofoam to-go containers instead of compostable ones like some other locations use. The Kung Pao chicken also had a little less kick than other Pandas. On the positive side, they were open on Labor Day. On the down side, they were a little understaffed and the line took quite a while. This Panda Express in Truckee is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful (my daughter lost her phone here and the staff helped her look for it). One thing to note if you order the kids meals it comes with as much low mein as a normal meal and just one entree. Great for kids OR adults that don't eat a lot as you'll save some $$$. read more
