We made a reservation for 7:30, got there on time, and when our name was called, someone else went in place of us--it was a little awkward but one of the hostess saw what happened and made sure we got the next table available. Plus we ended up in a really nice booth! Overall the aesthetics of the restaurant was really fun. We got the Fortune Tea Milk Tea and to me, it had the same aftertaste of a Yoo-hoo. It was good! I don't know if it is everyone's cup of (milk) tea but it was good to me. The bok choy was well cooked. I don't know if I'd order it again since I feel like I could make it myself. Warning: this may be a biased review because of past experience and lack of sushi experience. In an effort to relive my childhood dinners with my mom I took my date here on our recent weekend getaway. I am not sure if this was the Panda Inn she took me to some 30+ years ago but I am going to say it was, just let me have that. When we arrived it was busy so we opted to sit at the bar to avoid the wait. As we sat we were engaged by a Sushi Chef (David). Although he was wearing a mask you could see he was flashing a big warm smile. However, I am a tool and thought he was the bartender. A pleasant and fun conversation with Chef David ensued. He explained to us sushi newbs what sushi was all about. He even talked my date and I into a roll. She has always said "NO" to sushi so this was a pleasant surprise. We watched as this man crafted the best tasting sushi we have ever had. It was so amazing we devoured it all. The rest of the food was as great as I remember as a kid but Chef David stole the show and almost even my date. The place was also very clean and beautiful. Sodas were flat - so had to keep switching. Ordered: Mongolian Beef - great flavor, but sauce was slimy. Combination fried rice Orange chicken - extremely spicy and I love spice! ( I am aware that this recipe had dried chili's in it - as I have been to other locations - but this time around less than 1/2 of the dish was touched) Shrimp Lo-mein - noodles were cooked well, good amount of veggies. Bok choy with mushrooms - extremely bland, tasted like they were just boiled Walnut Shrimp - usually my favorite dish but it was lacking the sauce - shrimp was cooked well and was not greasy Tuna Carpaccio - refreshing, didn't taste fishy, a little kick The whole meals just lacking - I did have to use soy sauce and chili paste to flavor majority of it. Service needed to be flagged down many times d/t sodas being flat and the food being served in an odd order and needed to be reminded of missing items. We ordered a variety of dishes--spicy tuna on crispy rice, kung pao chicken, orange chicken, broccoli beef, and lo mein--and every single item was absolutely delicious. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was perfectly balanced with great texture and flavor, and all the classic dishes were cooked perfectly--fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. Fair enough, this gem has been sitting there right on Brand St by the Galleria as a dining option and we never noticed. I was a little in suspense that the food would basically taste like Panda Express only with a bigger bill due but no. It is legit and the best Chinese in LA we have decided. Had to get the classics like orange chicken and pork fried rice, and experiment with upside down noodles. But it was all gourmet. Really good. 10/17/23 The reviews continue ..... Good looort let's get into it ... This is the Family Place Have been coming to since I was a kid . They have one in Pasadena and Ontario as well . The pasadena one under construction so we came to Glendale. Always great service always great food and drink . Pedro/ Eduardo called both was amazing and checked on us and made sure our drinks were refilled immediately. Now that's service . Food was amazing as usual. Kong pao chix, honey walnut shrimp , steamed green beans , garlic noodles , pork fried rice. Can't go wrong with any of that . Always flavorful and comes out nice and hot . Never a bad bite imo. Love this place. One of the managers from Pasadena works at this one and Knows us well. It was nice to see and catch up . Go and Enjoy . Our holiday party at work had some items for us and this was my first experience having Panda Inn. Our options for lunch weren't plentiful but still decent in the shrimp and walnuts, orange chicken, a beef and veg, fried rice, white rice and lo mein. For my plate I opted for the shrimp and orange chicken with white rice and lo mein. Starting at the shrimp, the shrimps are pretty big which is always nice, a little more on the sweet side than I generally like but not terrible. Not something I'd get again personally. The orange chicken had a kick, not a favorite but everyone makes orange chicken differently so I won't hold that against them! The chicken was well cooked but still had some parts there were a bit too tough and overcooked which I do judge and hold against. Especially with other pieces that were perfectly juicy. White rice is white rice, was the perfect complement to any chicken dish. The lo mein I take issue with. While the noodles are well cooked and soft, there was no flavor to them. There's also no vegetables which I've never actually seen with a lo mein/chow mein. I can forgive no veggies but to still not have flavor? That's an unforgivable, even in a quick service setting. The fortune cookies were a nice little treat in that they were coated in chocolate, though as a personal preference I don't care for white chocolate, just not a for me thing but I would bet these are a hit for everyone else. All in all, not much to write home about honestly. Not someplace I'd go to for my own choice but at least I've now had it. read more

We came to Panda Inn in Glendale twice during our visit to LA in June, and both times were fantastic. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the overall experience made us want to come back (clearly, since we did, ha). Both visits, we were lucky to be helped by Danny, who was absolutely on top of his game (even on a busy Saturday night). He was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations when we weren't sure what to order during our first visit. Thanks to him, we tried the Crispy Tuna sushi appetizer (not sure of the exact name, but it was so good) and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. I wasn't planning to order that (never been a fan at Panda Express) but Danny said "trust me, you'll love it" and he was right. I ordered it again on our second visit. Another winner was the Crispy Noodle dish. Our six-year-old daughter loved the Chicken Fried Rice, and Danny went out of his way to make her feel special throughout the meal (and after, with an additional fortune cookie). Always great to dine in kid-friendly restaurants! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area :) read more
