I come to this location almost daily for my green tea. Clean inside with lots of room and friendly staff. One thing that turns me off about this location is the fact that they always seem to have a charity at the front that only accepts credit cards and tries to stop me to talk while I'm working. Been a few times I haven't stopped and went to colonial heights location on the way home just for that reason. read more

Stopped in our our drive from North Carolina to Northern Virginia. We prefer Panera to typical fast food because they have more health-conscious offerings. We both got salads and sat by the fireplace. Food was fine although, as others have mentioned, the dining area wasn't necessarily the cleanest that we've seen. No major complaints, though. Panera is typically my go to place when I'm traveling for work. Yesterday I was disappointed on multiple levels. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup with an apple and had a water and I was charged 9+ dollars. when I received the bowl of soup it was half full. Going forward you may consider getting smaller bowls if this is going to be a normal portion. Also, to note the bathroom was in very poor condition. You may look into getting a better vanity/sink as this one was almost falling off the wall. read more

I was at this location today (12/28/25) around 4:00. It was not very busy inside the location at this time. I used the kiosk to order 1 cinnamon bagel with cream cheese to eat inside and then a half dozen of the cinnamon bagels to take home to my family for the work week ahead. I paid for my 7 bagels and walked over to the waiting area. As I am waiting I notice a young female worker head over the bagel area and I can hear her inside a bag and I figure she's loading my bagels into a bag to go. Once she is done she walks over to the counter where you pick up items and tells another young female employee that they were 6 bagels. The other female employee states " six bagels" "who orders 6 bagels" "I wish I was big enough to buy 6 bagels". She then calls my names as I am standing right at the counter and heard the entire ordeal. I look in the bag and notice my cream cheese and bagels are just tossed into the bag. I take the bag up to the counter where I believe I spoke to a manager ( I could not read her name tag so I am not certain) and asked for another bagging situation. She stated they usually put the bagels in a smaller bag to make it easier for people to keep them longer. I take that bag and put my bagels into that bag as well as my cream cheese. I neglected to count my bagels as I was simply in a rush to leave and get out of the establishment before someone insulted me or my purchase again. Once in the car I had a friend count my items because I really started to think and I only had 6 bagels. I paid for 7 and only received the half dozen. This is unacceptable behavior from staff. If you are going to hire young people to work at least make sure they are professional to customers, can count, can bag things according to policy and can read because there was clearly a disconnect somewhere at this location. I am not sure what type of operation the manager, Jessica Lugo, is running but it's not one of any sort of decency. read more

I went to the restaurant on 11/22/25 and literally ordered my food A la carte and the young lady I will not put her name out there ON #1457147 with each item you are entitled to a side. I didn't get my side. I just tried to make a BBB complaint and unfortunately this business is not BBB accredited which tells me why they don't mind messing up your order. I kept the receipt this time because I was going to file a BBB complaint. This particular store drive through and in store either they don't have an item or they mess up your order. Don't go here. I had lunch at this restaurant and ordered the lunch special bowl of soup and Caesar salad. My friend ordered a different a soup and different salad. The soup was thin and dull. Chunky soup from a can would have been better tasting. The salad was a very average to poor version of Caesar salad. My friend had the same experience with her choices. Our server was ok- never asked if I'd like a refill on my drink nor did he come to ask how we were doing. Panera has become expensive, and the salads have shrunk. But there are some meals I keep coming back for. Macaroni and cheese is so good. I also like the sandwiches. I often get a half cup of soup--broccoli and cheese is my favorite--and a half turkey sandwich. It's counter service, which is nice; you can eat in it or grab it to go. It's a comfortable place to go alone if you need a working lunch, have a small business meeting with a friend, or want to dine casually. I wish they had more sides to choose from beside bread, chips, or an apple. read more

I ordered a baker's dozen of bagels and coffee for the custodial staff at my school. The order was placed online yesterday. I included a note that asked for paper products, creamer, sweeteners, etc. to be included with the order. I arrived this morning at 6:55 a.m. and used the app to indicate that I had arrived. Two big bags were delivered to my car by a very friendly employee who told me that I had erroneously chosen two small cream cheeses instead of the tubs (which she assumed I needed for the amount of bagels I'd ordered). She was nice enough to take my card, go back into the restaurant, and complete the transaction for me. When I got to school, I had an abundance of paper plates, coffee cups, stirring sticks, forks, knives, napkins, and everything else I needed to show my appreciation for our hard working custodians. I used to enjoy Panera. And every time I eat it now. I promise myself that this will be the last time I ever set foot in their store. And then someone (who clearly wants me to rethink our friendship) gives me a giftcard. We just moved here so this is my first time going to this location. With a name like Panera BREAD, it really is all in the title that you will be getting nothing but bread. I ordered a steak sandwich and it is about 80% bread. Is it good bread? Yes. Is it a steak sandwich when it has the tiniest slivers of steak, a small slice of cheese, and so little red onion you can't even taste it (and onion is usually detectable tiny amounts from a mile away)? No. It is a loaf of bread. A $10 loaf of bread. I also ordered a bear claw and it tasted like nothing. Because they didn't put it in the bag. Which is on me. Even though I was in a hurry, which is why I ordered RAPID pickup, and he told me that my order was all ready to go on the shelf, sitting out where anyone could walk up and grab it, (I peeked, but they really do give you a ton of napkins in the to-go bags, so that is a plus!) It is doubly funny because the receipt on the side of the bag says: *Sandwich Chips *Bearclaw *Utensils Order checked by ______ (left blank) Accuracy Matters. And it contained a "sandwich", chips and a buttload of napkins. But naturally I didn't notice that until I was able to eat it way later. I will never step foot in Panera again. I had a gift card and decided to try them. I got half a grill cheese. Napkins were stuck to the cheese. I also got French onion soup which was disgusting. No cheese on top. Little tiny bowl. My mom got a whole grill cheese sandwich . We got ice tea. They do not have sweet ice tea and no lemon . I asked for a tray to take outside and the woman handing me the food was rude and said they didn't have trays. The ambience is like any other fast food restaurant, I guess, but this place is going down fast. I didn't even see a manager. read more

Ordered a half salad and a full salad. They have switched bowls and now use the small salad bowl for both the half salad and full salad. The half salad bowl was almost full and the full salad that cost $9 was less than half filled. I complained and was told all salads ingredients are measured. I pointed out that the half greek salad bowl was was full and my bowl was only half filled. I also asked what happened to the large bowl. He stated the salads all use the same bowl now. Panera is going downhill fast. I went on a Friday at dinner time which is usually a busy time for Panera. There were only 6 other customers in the store. Sitting amid the innumerable fast food chains and restaurants in the Chesterfield shopping complexes right off I-95 is this excellent Panera Bread location. It has a drive-thru and an ample selection. I found the seating inside to be a bit limited and also the parking can be rough because of how many other stores are in the same plaza mall and yet there doesn't appear to be enough parking spots to go around. Nonetheless the shop is very easy to get to off of Route 1 and to get back on it as well, making it very accessible and good for a quick stop. read more
