    St. Louis Bread Co

Since Panera originates from STL and only goes by St. Louis Bread Co. in this area, I obviously had to visit one while I was passing through STL! It is the exact same interior decor and menu as any other Panera, so not much to say here other than that LOL! I just really enjoyed seeing the name of the restaurant be "St. Louis Bread Co" in the Panera font and it was a perfect spot to stop for breakfast before our long road trip back home!

Ok. So how do you go to STL BREAD Company and they not have BREAD? Drove through for quick (?) Sunday morning at 9:30am for a breakfast bite. Wanted Sausage and Egg on Ciabatta. Server indicated they didn't have sausage, nor did they have Ciabattas? Huh? I thought this was BREAD Company?

I am not a local and was passing by so I got a Turkey BLT avocado sandwich meal, a drink and a blueberry scone. They forget my blueberry scone and I had to go back inside and ask the cashier for it. No biggy. I checked my bag again before driving away and yes, there's a sandwich and a bag of chips. 30mn later, as I am already passed Saint Louis I find out that the sandwich wasn't my the Turkey Avicado I had ordered but some kind of weird sandwich with Turkey and thousand island (I am guessing) with some kind of sweet bread. It was disgusting. I called that place and asked them to refund my credit card as I am not driving back to Collinsville for it. The manager acknowledged their mistake and told me they had swap my sandwich with someone else by mistake. She said she cannot reimburse my credit card (which I don't know why? As far as I know if you have a system to charge a credit card, you have the capacity to do a refund), but she offered to send me a voucher to reimburse me. I didn't want to make it hard so I agreed and gave her my address. When I received the voucher I didn't know wether this was a joke or not. She had sent me a voucher for a free drink!?! I paid over $11 for that sandwich alone and she sends me a voucher for a drink not to exceed $6 !?! This is not only ridiculous, it's not far from conning people. I tried to call them 5 times already but no one picked up. I live 6 hrs away so going confronting that manager is not doable, but I will be traveling down that way again soon, and yes, I will go in. This is horrible customer service. Conning people is not the way to run a business at all. Better open your sandwiches' wrappers and check before leaving since obviously this location is unable to simply give the right sandwich to the right customer and when they make a mistake, they would acknowledge it but only give you a lousy free drink voucher for your $12

My experience was OK the cooks get upset when you ask for things that were not on the salad such as the two I ordered did not have feta cheese as shown in the picture. Sometimes they don't have the best attitude but they give you a good amount of lettuce and food as long as all the ingredients are there!

I recently visited this place for the first time ever. On Sundays they have an all you can eat…read morebuffet for $14.95 and I wanted to try it. I will say this is an old school diner with everything to match. Luckily the prices matched up with the old school decor. The buffet is set out on the patio and there were plenty of options. From salad, to your favorite breakfast items- eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes. Then there was biscuits and gravy, Mac n cheese mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, pasta, meatballs, brats and some packaged little dessert cakes and muffins. It was a great value for $14.95 and if you have a big family it is an affordable way to eat out and feed the whole family. My server was great, she talked highly of the place and with passion when I mentioned it was my first visit. If you are someone who doesn't like credit card fees, bring cash to avoid the additional 3% charge for using a credit or debit card.

I finally made it to this diner. It's been on my list for quite a while. They're semi-famous…read morelocally for their Sunday all you can eat brunch buffet but I went mid-week for lunch to try one of their sandwiches. They have both an inside and outside dining area, the inside being small and cozy, a little bit of an old school diner atmosphere. I grabbed a seat inside and was promptly greeted with a smile and given a menu by the friendly waitress. They had several options that sounded enticing. I inquired about the bacon they used on their BLT but the waitress wasn't sure except that it was a standard thin cut bacon and she thought it was tasty. Preferring thick cut bacon, I finally decided to go with the reuben sandwich with a side of crinkle potato chips. The sandwich was served to me impressively fast, less than 10 minutes and, to my surprise, the waitress offered me a sample strip of their bacon. It was surprisingly good so I may have to go with a BLT next time. Anyway, the reuben was the star of my lunch, served traditionally on perfectly grilled marbled rye bread. The sandwich was delicious, not a large amount of corned beef but enough to be well balanced with the other components of the sandwich. The corned beef itself was sliced sandwich thin, a bit chewy but otherwise delicious. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The potato chips were standard fare but tasted fresh. The highlights of the visit were the friendly staff, fast service, fairly reasonable prices and the free sample of bacon was icing on the cake. I'll return soon with my wife who is sure to order their BLT. I'll probably give their Philly cheese or french dip a try.
