My wife and I have enjoyed this Panera Bread location since it opened. If I could give it NO stars, I would. It has gone straight down the tubes lately. Saturday morning, 8 a.m. and their selection was HORRIBLE!!! Nothing like it used to be, NOTHING. The two teenage boys that waited on me and the lady in front of me sauntered back and forth like "what's the hurry, man." One pecan braid, a small PIECE of pecan (not a whole one) in the middle. Was here with Hubs and my parents on Thursday May 5th 2011 for a quick lunch. Man, this place was indeed jam packed. Was this a good sign? Perhaps so but not for us. Yes its seems they have the bakery thingy with Muffins, Bagels alike Oh My. Perhaps I just order those, but we did not. Hubs order was the Asiago Roast Beef, which comes with Asiago Cheese Roast beef, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & their special spread. When we receive the order, the sandwich "looks" so sad. I opt for the Mac & Cheese. This Signature Hot Entrees comes with tangy Vermont white cheddar cheese sauce over shell pasta. Nothing special. I choose for my parents the Mediterranean Veggie Cafe Sandwiches which comes with Tomato Basil, Zesty sweet Peppadew peppers, feta, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & cilantro hummus. They did not eat it there so I decide to have this to go box after the quick lunch. I also order the Broccoli Cheddar soup for my Dad. This soup comes with chopped broccoli, shredded carrots, seasonings in a velvety smooth cheese sauce. My dad mentioned that he liked this soup. While for my mum, she had the Low Fat Vegetarian Black Bean soup. This soup comes with plump black beans which is simmered in a spicy vegetarian broth. The soups has flavor of onion, red bell pepper, cilantro, garlic and cumin. My mum was unimpressed with the soup. Oh well. For us the food was slightly above average price we are willing to pay for sandwiches and soups. The portions was little too. Hubs and I was unimpressed. If I'm paying an exorbitant amount of money for slightly better sandwiches than subway then at least give me something comparable in size. Enough of the these three inch rip off sandwiches. This Panera location has been a terrible experience every time I've gone, which is a lot. I avoided it for months because I was tired of getting the wrong items and waiting way too long for my food, but went back today because we were out of food in the house and nowhere else was open. I waited for almost 25 minutes for curbside delivery, and eventually had to go inside with my 18 month old (the entire point of curbside was to avoid going inside). The owner was polite enough and said that the machine didn't notify them after I hit the "I'm here" button. Did nobody notice me sitting in the pickup spot for almost half an hour though? I really enjoy Panera, but this location is such a disappointment. We usually get rapid pick up and I have had at least 4 orders come with missing or incorrect items. They cant seem to tell the difference between Chicken Noodle and Chicken Wild Rice soup... I've even had to wait around 10 minutes for them to give me my pick up order as I stood there waiting, and when I finally checked again to see if it was ready, the person at the counter said she had to go get her manager. Come to find out it's because the manager wanted to ask me what coupon code I used because she didnt recognize it. Super weird. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and just triple check my order. BUT tonight I found a piece of thin plastic wrapping in my soup cup!!! Thankfully I found it before it ended up in my mouth ugh. Once upon a time...Panera was St. Louis Bread Company, affectionately known as Breadco.it was really good. Consistent .you could only find it in and around St. Louis. Whenever I travelled, I always wished for a Breadco. Be careful what you wish for. We moved to Tucson Arizona, and they have a similar concept. I can't even remember the name. But a year after living there, Panera bought the bakery. We were very excited. Some of the food was on par, like the autumn squash soup, some of it not so much. The worst thing was that they didn't bake baguettes, they gave you a white dinner roll as a side. The kind that you get at the grocery store in a bag. We moved back to STL and I reintroduced myself to the "real" Breadco. Not much later Panera was purchased by a large family owned company that promised to keep things the same. Over the last several years, my Breadco experiences have been rocky ones. I was walking distance to the Webster Groves, MO. store. Some meals were great, again, I go back to the squash soup, and some were fails. Usually, my pickup orders were the fails. This old dog consistently forgot to check in the bag before leaving the store. I had soba noodle soup with chicken that came without the chicken- more than once. I had soba noodle soup that barely had broth. We have moved permanently to the mountains in Colorado, where there is no Panera. There is however one at the bottom of the mountain, and it also happens to be one where I am sitting right now. Lots of a good healthy meal crossed my mind so I decided to give Panera one more chance. Fortunately, I am eating in and discovered what you see in the picture. How does that happen? Was the preparer watching Netflix? Texting? I don't get it. Now my salad on the other hand, is beautiful- hence the 3 star, not one. Please, please, please get it together. We placed an order on May 19th. When we received the order, the Cuban sandwich had green ham. GREEN! We called your store in Englewood, CO, at which time we were told that we would be getting $20 credit. Obviously we have not been back since, as this left a horrible taste in our mouths. We called today to make an order so that we could get the $20 credit and we're told by a manager Padma (unsure if this is the correct spelling), that there was nothing they could do. The only reason I never left a review with the picture of the horrible ham my daughter and granddaughter attempted to eat, was because we believed that we would be able to go back at a later time and give them the opportunity to redeem themselves. It's close and the bread is good. Dinner rush, it takes 10-15 minutes to get a loaf of bread; OK, but the price is off by fifty cents on the loaf. So, let's get things clear. I like Panera. I think Panera offers some quality food items, and pretty good choices. However, this location seems to have trouble getting orders right. My order has been mixed up every time I've been here. The most recent time, I ordered a salad that didn't even contain chicken in the name and I got chicken in it, which is gross, but fine. The thing that upset me was the way the worker preparing my food reacted -- didn't really and made it seem like it was my fault ... But ... Was it my fault? I don't know. I used to come here a few times a week. I live less than two minutes away, so this was my go-to cafe. There is one woman, a Latina lady, in particular who has utterly ruined this location for me. I think she's a manager. Anyway, she's been there several times when I've come in. Always very short, always seems irritated. Whatever. The last couple times I've come in, though, she's been even worse. She took my order. I asked for three bagels, but she cut me off after I ordered the first with a, "HOLD. ON." She goes to slice the first bagel, then has some other kid finish taking my order. I told him I wanted them all toasted. She evidently heard which bagels I wanted, but not that part. I noticed she hadn't toasted that first one and said something along the lines of, "Oh hey, I'm not sure you heard me, I'd like the bagels toasted please." I kid you not, this woman looked at me, turned her back, and walked into the back room and didn't come back. So the kid who finished ringing me up apologized and took care of everything. Finally, the last time I was in there (I think around 2pm on a weekday?), there were not bagels at all for some reason. She was working, and I said, "Oh no, no bagels today?" Her response? "NO." She turned her back again. No explanation, no apology. That was probably three weeks ago or so, and that was the last time I'd been in. I've wanted to stop by a few times since, but changed my mind because I just don't want this rude, abrasive woman putting a damper on my day. read more

Super slow staff, only 2 people in front of me in line and it took 16 minutes to get my food for breakfast a bagel sandwich with egg and avocado. Panera in general over last year or so has gone downhill across most locations. If I could give zero stars I would! Placed an order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. Showed up over 15 minutes later there were only two other customers in the store and waited for 15 more minutes before finally asking if anyone was making my order, to which they replied, "yeah, we're starting on it now." They told me I didn't have any rewards available, but I asked for my receipt and saw there was one. I was waiting for take out and there was no sense of urgency or efficiency. The one person started saying "we have sandwiches". I wondered if she couldn't make any. Then someone came in for a rapid pickup and still had to wait. They were only just starting the order. I told my wife it would probably be another 5-10 minutes. After awhile they started packing my bag and they weren't sure if one of the sandwiches was right so they just put it in the bag. This place has terrible costumer service. We asked for inside dining and were given to go boxes(we ordered bread bowl soups) and they didn't even close the soups properly so not only did they not give us a lot of soup but everything spilled all over the bag. When we asked them to fix it, they rejected our request saying they were backed up and couldn't do anything about it. The place is disgusting and dirty, when we came there were dirty puddles all over the floor. When I was walking out, even though I was trying to walk cautiously i still slipped and fell while being 8 months pregnant! Luckily I hit my left shoulder on the coffee counter so I softened my fall and fell on my knees. I shudder to think what would happen if I fell on my stomach. Decent place. Really comfy to hang out for a while and nobody's pushing you out. I enjoy the everything bagel toasted with hummus and cucumbers. The hummus is a cilantro lime so be prepared for a zingy kick. I have had both an americano coffee and regular coffee and thought they were both good. I have yet to ask if they have soy milk so that would be a good addition to the coffee. All was well until it was exactly 8:30 PM. Just before this, my wife and I were served, we sat down, and began to chat. We hadn't seen each other in over a week due to my business trip. We were the only ones there. A Panera worker started to vacuum RIGHT beside us. Normally, I wouldn't care, but the entire, empty restaurant needed vacuuming, not just the three feet by our table. My wife was sick, so she was trying to yell over it. And really, we'd just sat down. So I respectfully asked him to wait 20 mins. He shut it off, and he went to do one of the other many shift ending jobs. We were almost done (15 mins later) when Marilyn, the manager, approached. She stood over me, and with insult and bitterness intact, said, "we're closed, so we are going to do our work now." I actually started laughing. Obviously, she had no intention of asking me if she could make our experience better, and she was solely focused on misconstruing the situation. I only asked not to vacuum directly on top of us. Who does that, anyway? And then for Marilyn to reprimand us, it was completely undeserved. Avoid this particular location. I love that they deliver. I like them for a fast food option. I wish their invintory /menu was set up better. They are ALWAYS out of something we ordered. They call right before they deliver and our food gets cold while we are trying to figure out what else they have.
