I love Panera Bread. Last visit an exception. The grilled cheese wasn't grilled - barely toasted - cheese was barely melted and tasted like Velveeta. I was told they used American Cheese - yuk! Please use a decent cheese. American is disgusting. A mostly happy customer. read more

Dirt sandwich. I'm sorry to have to leave this review as we go here at least once a week and it's usually pretty good, but today, they neglected to wash the lettuce in my sandwich and it was full of dirt. I have been using Panera's Rapid Pick Up service ever since last summer because of its convenience and fast service. I tend not to dine inside since they usually get my order wrong and the last time I ordered a breakfast sandwich, the meat was basically a brick--I couldn't get my teeth through it. The girl who took my order for that sandwich was also not very friendly. I was in line in front of her and she looked at me as if I wasn't supposed to be there, and after staring at me for a few seconds, I had to ask if she would take my order, to which she responded with "oh, uh, yeah." No signs of courtesy or willingness to help, I wish I got her name. Now back to the Rapid Pick Up service... this morning I ordered a Scrambled Egg and Cheese on brioche and an orange scone. I received the scone, but the sandwich was something like an over easy egg with bacon. It was my fault that I didn't check before I left (I've never had to before since they have always gotten it right) so I was displeased to say the least. On their receipt, it says "Accuracy Matters," and I hope that they hold to this since I will give them one more chance. Otherwise, I cant say that my recent experiences have left me with any urge to come back and employ any of their services. read more

I like this location. A lot. I've been here twice and I ttpically just utilize their online pick up service since they are usually always busy. I ordered their grilled cheese and my friend got their chicken tortilinni pasta and we got a few pieces of bread. Everything was delicious and everything we wanted. The employees are very friendly and they are fast and efficient. They are in a good location, parking is usually not an issue, food is great, employees and service is great. It does get fairly busy so I would highly recommend using their online ordering. It will save you lots of time. read more

Love this place. We come here at least twice a month and their bagels are delish. My favorite is the cinnamon crunch bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. Sweet, yes...but paired with coffee, perfection. We enjoy taking our time when we're there, so we always get our coffees in a mug. It makes us feel more at home. They have a nice patio area as well. For lunch, try the french onion soup with the cobb salad. Great combo. The soup is a bit salty, but I suppose that's expected with french onion soups in general. My only complaint is the temperature. The front room is always freezing! Bring a jacket if you don't want to sit shivering the entire time. read more

Love Panera and all of their yummy options! Overall they are usually always spot on and they have mobile order where you can conveniently just come in and pick it up. Once you place your order it tells you when it should be ready. The reason for 4 stars is that I had to wait a little longer then expected today. This is my favorite Panera that I have been to (and probably the only one I would give 5 stars). Always pretty clean, I like the layout, and it has some really nice outdoor seating. It's newer, so everything inside is nice (and obviously newer looking). There is a parking garage RIGHT next to the entrance, so it's really easy to park to eat here. If you feel like doing some shopping, or going to a movie, it's in a great location for that. Food-wise, I really like this Panera. I have been to other Panera's, where I order the exact same thing, and they don't make it as well. This location has been the most consistent food-wise for me. Their broccoli-cheddar soup is delish, and I love their macaroni and cheese!! One thing I like about Panera overall, is they have a lot of different size options. You can combine a couple of half-sizes of things so that you can get some variety. You can have just half-sizes of things. You can just have a bagel or pastry if you want something quick or lighter. I like the big menu that they have...there are lots of options. I like how they have lots and lots of vegetarian options, or things that you can easily make vegetarian. I also know that they have several gluten free menu options (my friend who is gluten free loves to eat here). I also feel like most of their food is fairly healthy, and you can always customize it to make it healthier. Also, you can become a Panera rewards member for free. So if you eat at Panera more than once ever, you should sign up for it and get the free rewards. Even if you come at lunch time, they're pretty fast here. I've come here a couple of times for work lunches, and it's been great each time. You can also order online. I haven't tried it yet, but sounds pretty cool and convenient. The biggest downside to this location is their selection of baked goods. I don't know if it's because this spot is super busy, but whenever I get there around 4 pm or later, their pastries are SUPER picked over (think a total of 3 muffins, several cookies, and a few other items left to choose from). It's a bit disappointing when you have your heart set on a delicious cinnamon roll but can't get off work any earlier to go get one! :( read more

Took my grandmother for the first time. She enjoyed the potato soup but the baguette was rock hard and she had to pull the middle out, not a big deal. My tomato mozzarella flatbread was pretty good, next time I'll order a panini instead because the wheat flatbread was limp and could use some crunch. We shared a bearclaw that was very soft and good, I would definitely get one again. We went around 11am and there was no wait in line and plenty of seating available even though there were a lot of people there. The cashier was friendly and quick. I had to ask a worker for to-go containers and she asked the line cook for them, very friendly and happy to help me. After we ate, someone came and took our empty plates which was nice. All around great service. They have such a large menu that I'll bring her back to try other things. All the pastries and breads looked very good. ordered on the app for a rapid pick up order and every time i have it's been ready on the shelf for me. this time i went in when i got a text saying my order was ready, patiently waited 15 mins waiting for someone to bring my food to the shelf until finally someone asked me if i needed help. i said yes i've been waiting for a pick up and then the other girl behind the counter who i made eye contact with a couple of times while waiting says she has it right here behind the counter. my food was cold my smoothie was hot and i'm very upset. i came around 9:30am and it was not busy at all. i was the only person sitting near the food counter and i was just ignored. never EVER coming back. the staff is not observant or helpful at all. read more

They have really great food, but their dark horse is the COFFEE. I don't know if nobody else has noticed, but Panera's coffee is the BOMB! Today for lunch my wife was meeting me at Panera Bread. Which we go to often. I look online to see what I would want because she will get there and order before I do. So I tell her what I want, the bacon bravo sandwich just like it's pictured online. And when I get there my bread is pink, the sauce is gross, and the bacon is hard and cold. I didn't even eat half of it. An overall nasty sandwich. We also bought chips and a cookie. The cookie was so hard we couldn't enjoy it. We spent alot of money on lunch. I won't be going here again. I ordered two bread bowls for dinner for rapid pickup. When my husband walked in for pick up they asked if he was here for pickup and he confirmed. They explained they just ran out of breadbowls and were sorry, totally understandable since the breadbowls are amazing. They upgraded us to bowls and threw in a whole baguette to make up for it. And when they handed the order over they stated they refunded our money. This place went above and beyond and none of this was expected. We love Panera and now love it even more. The manager Brad and the kid behind the counter treated my mother horribly, had an attitude, and mocked her behind her back simply for her asking why she got charged for a substitution on her sandwich due to a dietary need, which she had never been charged for before. This is probably my favorite place to eat in all of Folsom. The staff is ALWAYS so kind and helpful, the atmosphere is always happy and upbeat. Go after 8:00pm and get half price bakery items! Nice variety to choose from soups and salads to sandwiches and pasta! My favorite cashier is Brittany, so helpful and sincerely kind, and Austin the cook who is so wonderful too! They were really busy, so it took a bit longer than usual and they apologized and even came out to make sure our food was good, and as always it was! This Panera has a weird set up. Every single Panera I have visited has employees bring your food to your table. This isn't the case here, like McDonald's, you have to get up & get your own food when it's ready. This isn't convenient when you are dining with a friend & 4 kids under the age of 5. Getting up to get 3 full meals & drinks for everyone was super annoying. Would have been nice if someone offered to help. The people preparing even forgot to include the extra sides of chips & dressing we ordered, that was another trip back. Guy behind the counter appeared to be under the influence. I was a regular customer during my pregnancy 2 years ago, getting breakfast sandwiches everyday for nearly the entire pregnancy, minus the morning sickness stage. Never once did they mess up my order, it was always made on time, and it was always hot. I have continued to go there off and on... I'm afraid to say I wavered in my loyalty and gave Noah's bagels, which is nearby, a chance but I have decided that they no longer will be receiving my business, as their customer service is atrocious and they mess up my order almost every time I go in there. I finally placed a complaint today and have been caught in a battle of wits with their complaint department at the corporate level... Not something Panera is guilty of. Just do Panera instead... If possible I'd give them ZERO stars We bought a dozen bagels early in the morning so you'd think that they should be fresh. I don't know if they changed the recipe for their bagels or if these we left from the night before. They were so HARD, you could use them for hockey pucks. I have been a customer for many years and this has to be one of the worst location that I have visited. I went here twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. At dinner, the place was wiped out of bagels and they didn't have any turkey chili available. Maybe they had a busy day so I went for breakfast on the following day. Big mistake! My oatmeal was subpar compared to other locations. The floor around the coffee dispenser was sticky - NASTY. Also, I think there was a piece of sandwich meat in my oatmeal. I don't think this Panera location will survive because of the strange parking access and how this place is managed. read more

Where did customer service go? Two employees, one male and one female, trying to wake up... drinking their coffee and sighing if a customer comes in. I am the only one at the restaurant at 7:10AM and they prepare my cappuccino on the other side of the restaurant and just yelling "cappuccino!". I was very disappointed in the Folsom Panera. While my cashier was professional and efficient the rest of my experience was not acceptable, even on a bad day. For a very simple order, I would not have ever imaged how it could be so bad. How could one go wrong with tomato soup and a grilled cheese? They surely managed! My soup was barely luke warm and the cup was half-full of croutons. My grilled cheese half sandwich was tough. It was grilled on one sice, had pannini press marks on the other and sat on a corregated paper such as used in frozen microwaveable sandwiches. Clearly it has been microwaved too long. I asked to have the sandwich replaced. Ten minutes later I interrupted the "Manager-In-Training" from his texting while walking through the dining room and inquired about my sandwich. He brought it to me five minutes later. Unbelievable that this my strong jaw could not pull a bite off this sandwich at all and it was cold. My friend had issues too. First off, the cashier tried three times to order her a half salad and cup of soup, which she corrected him three times asking for a whole salad - no onions- and a cup of soup. She was still given a half salad! She sent it back for a whole one. And, of corse, it had the onions on it that she asked to have omitted. We then asked to have our checks refunded, which they did. I doubt I will be returning to the Folsom Panera. Too bad since I enjoy the one in Roseville. read more

Good food, but what the heck is the deal with kicking people out the second they are done eating? I bought a 12 dollar lunch and coffee the other day and brought my laptop along to work on. I scarfed my food down pretty fast and it was bussed away. Not two minutes later a manager came to my table and told me that they needed to make room for other people to eat and I had to leave. I've only been to Panera a few times and the first few times were absolutely fantastic. But today, around 2:20, when I was waiting for my food, I heard a woman behind the counter being absolutely rude to her employees. I don't know if she was the manager or not, but she certainly made me feel uncomfortable enough to make a yelp account and write a review about it. It was almost like the employees were being scolded like children. If I worked here then I would have quit in a heartbeat. I wouldn't stand to be disrespected that way. Managers and/or employees should always be respectful of each other and always be understanding. From what I heard, that's not what was happening. My wife and I had lunch here today: This place isn't quite ready for prime time: The counter person didn't know if the whipped cream was dairy, and acted as though she didn't care. We told her to ask her supervisor (yes, it's dairy). Phony friendliness and constant cross-selling at the counter. No wine or beer on the menu (in California, where you can buy wine at convenience stores?) Silverware : had to ask for table knives. No trays with which to carry our five-item order to an outside table (not all of us can balance numerous plates and glasses on our arms). Saw other customers dealing with this problem. Ordered a glass of water, received a tiny, miserly glass (probably 6 ounces) to fill at the pop machine. Like McDonald's. Stale croutons on my small Caesar salad. It's 8:02 pm, 24 August 2014 Generally the food is good and always fresh. However today they were well under that mark. I ordered a bowl of onion soup..very good but the croutons were stale and chewy. Additionally, I ordered a Caesar salad...Wilted lettuce and chewy (stale) croutons . My wife had the Fuji Chicken salad, the lattice was wilted, the apple chips were stale and chewy. 2 thumbs up and 3 down. We eat here often..at least once a week.
