This was by far my best Panera experience ever. All Panera's are pretty good but this one went above and beyond. The service here is exceptional. A special shout out to Jesse who made sure all our needs were met and so friendly. He makes it a pleasure to come here. The food was delicious and the restaurant is super clean. My husband and I went to Panera for dinner recently. The person that waited on us at the counter needs to clean up. He did not look clean. he had shoulder length scraggly dirty looking hair with a cap on, and was wearing street clothes. He was pleasant enough, however. I ordered the special summer salad with strawberries, blueberries with poppy seed dressing and a blueberry muffin. He said they were out of strawberries would I accept more blueberries, I said yes. When the salad was picked up it had strawberries and no muffin. My husband had to go back for the muffin. The salad and muffin were good, but the dressing was maybe a tablespoon full. My husband ordered the Toasted Buffalo Chicken sandwich. He said that they were out of the bread it came on and than we could not substitute a different bread. My husband was tired and in no mood to hear this and cancelled the order. The clerk went to the kitchen and came back saying they had the bread. I went ahead and re-ordered. I did not like the sandwich he got, it was spicy hot with very little chicken and cheese and 1/2 of baguette. So more bread than filling. This order was over $28.00. No drinks, we got self serve water. Ambiance was fine, most booths were filled. I go here with girlfriends for lunch, but I doubt I could get my husband to go back. read more

Came here to get 2 meals with drinks and a full baguette to take home. Instead, the cashier (on the receipt it says her name is Canda) was not listening to anything we asked. For one, their out of mac n cheese and almost all their soups which is odd since its all made in the back. I then asked for 2 large drinks, where she charged us for mediums but gave us smalls. I then asked for the baguette, which she completely ignored and didn't give us at all. Definitely need better employees at this location. Will not be returning until something is done to fix this. Lines are scattered, people are meandering....bah. BAH. I get annoyed because I have my order down pat : Cheddar Broccoli in a bread bowl, french baguette & a cookie for later. Bam, wham, give me that pager and it's ready in 2 minutes or less. (Let me pause here, I've tried other food items - all of which are good, but the listed above is my favorite). Oh Panera how I love your food! I wish I could sample your amazing bakery items daily, but alas I would be 300 pounds, and my butt wouldn't fit in my Mini Cooper. I love coming here for lunch, there's always good veggie/vegan options available. I don't think anything in the bakery is gluten-free, but they mark on the board items that are/aren't gluten-free for "regular" dining. My only complaint, and it's really just an observation, is the counter staff is VERY EAGER to take your order. Like everyone else, I'm not going to stand in line until I know what I want - because like everyone else, I find nothing more irritating than waiting behind someone at the register who is reading the entire menu aloud. So, I stand in the back, with the rest of us considerate folk, and then stroll up to the register once I'm ready. All the while, the cashiers are saying (louder than you'd realize) "I CAN HELP THE NEXT PERSON HERE". I ordered lunch for delivery. They brought regular Pepsi instead of diet and didn't include chips. I went back to check my order to double-check that the problem wasn't on my end, and my order was entered correctly. My home away from home. I swear I live here, especially when there is a big test coming, which is always in my case. Today, 5/30/19, I called to place an order to go at the Hillsboro, OR location on Cornell.. I ordered 2 salads and a steak and arugula sandwich. I was told the order would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes. Given the past poor performance of this store I waited 30 minutes before attempting to pick it up. I paid for my order and was told to wait while it was brought to me. Less than 30 seconds later I was told by the same person, oops we haven't made your order yet, please take a seat while we make it. I sat down and waited. When my name was called I asked what had happened and was told that they had been busy and forgot to look at their order screen. I replied that I often have problems with this store and was told to take it up with the manager and I would possibly receive a free pick 2. I replied no thanks since I tried that before and it didn't work. From the time I placed my order to having it in my hands was 50 minutes. To top it off when I got home and unpacked my order it was wrong, again! There was no steak and arugula sandwich, which is cold, but a Steak & White Cheddar Panini. I have decided to write about our continued poor experiences with Panera Bread because not only have I talked to local store employees in the past, been promised free meals not given to us, written to to corporate online review system and talked to their customer service representative, they have never gotten back to me or followed through with their promises in any way whatsoever. Following is another of our experiences with Panera Bread at this location which has been shared with corporate to no avail. On Jan 24, 2019 I placed a phone order for pick up at the Hillsboro, OR store located on Cornell Rd. I was told it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I arrived within that time frame. I paid for my order and waited at the pick up window. I proceeded to watch as 3 more orders placed after mine and paid for after me were picked up. After approximately 15 minutes of waiting I asked a man wearing a name tag identifying him as Mike, Store Manager, if he knew where my order was? He asked someone behind the counter preparing the to go orders and she said no. He then asked another person who located it. He told me the cashier should have given me my order when I paid for it. I took my order and left feeling frustrated.. Upon arriving home I found that my order was wrong. I ordered and paid for a steak and arugula whole sandwich and got a chicken sandwich. I called the store and asked to speak with Mike. I told him how frustrated and unhappy I was. He said he was not the manager of that store, just filling in, but would send me a gift card for my troubles. Fast forward to today, February 17, 2019. I have yet to receive the gift card. In addition I just called the same store to place an order for pick up and spoke to a person whose name was not given to me, (a man), who had a lot of difficulty taking my order. The time was around 5:30 p.m. He didn't understand the order, (it was straightforward steak and arugula sandwich and pick 2), and kept asking me the same questions over and over. After I confirmed my order he hung up without saying goodbye or kiss my ass. He did ask when it should be ready. I didn't quite understand that and responded "as soon as you can make it" and he hung up. read more

I went to Panera Bread before a football game at the Hillsboro stadium. There was a bit of a line but it seemed to be moving fairly quickly. I went up to the register and ordered a custom veggie half sandwich. It was ridiculous just to do that. They didn't understand that I didn't want one from their menu. This is because their menu is very meat heavy and they only offer a few vegetarian sandwiches. I ordered a half sandwich on sourdough with cucumber, tom, lettuce, avocado and cream cheese. I made it a combo deal with the soup and I got a cookie. They charged me 15 dollars! The sandwich was so small, about 4 bites worth.... and it was poorly made. This is more for the New Baja grain bowl than the whole restaurant. Panera is generally fresh and tasty and on the more expensive side of "fastish" food. I saw the Baja grain bowl on tv and decided to try it. It was $9.99 with no chicken. I got it to go and was a little shocked when I got it home. The bowl is maybe 6 inches around and only about half full! Not a good value for the money. It is tasty but should be twice as big for that price! read more

To say this Panera location should be ASHAMED is an understatement. First off, they have probably some of the worst management I've ever witnessed. I will never return to Panera after yesterday's treatment. Story time -You might wanna order your food from literally anywhere else and strap in for this. I ordered lunch for myself and my sister on the Panera bread app. It said that it would arrive between 11:42-11:45pm. It was getting to be around 11:50 when I went back into the app to track the order but when I would click on it a little icon would say "oops sorry not available." I called the restaurant to speak to someone about where the food was and they said the the order had been canceled because they believed it was dropped at the wrong address... what the actual fuck?! Then to make matters worse the employee hung up on me. I was completely cordial and understanding before this point. So I call back... waiting waiting waiting and finally speak with someone again. I told them what had just happened and that I was never notified that our oder was canceled and I was hung up on. The person wouldn't even let me finish my sentence. He continued to speak over me as I said excuse I'm talking! Hello, hello I'm speaking! And yes he could clearly understand me. His tone was incredibly rude and impatient. He said that the meal was being refunded and we could order again if we wanted. I asked to speak to his manager to which he replied "I am the leading manager." I honestly laughed because what an accomplishment for him and he sounded so high and mighty awww. I can't believe anyone would hire this A-Hole. I asked why I hadn't been notified about the cancellation of our order until now and he said he was the one who overlooked his employee and then later when I asked further questions he denied any involvement. Chose a story and stick to it my friend cuz I see right through your fickle mind. LongStory short I told him that they need to figure their shit out and learn how to communicate properly. His behavior is unacceptable and for a freaking manager to speak over me like that are you kidding me??! The best part of all of this is that. 15 later our food was dropped off on the door step free of charge. Thanks buddy this ones on you.I'd love to hear Paneras thoughts on this incident. I can't study at my apartment. There are too many distractions. There's my comfortable bed, the TV, my bed, DVR, the fridge, pantry, couch, oh, and my bed. I usually study at the library on campus. But sometimes I like to mix it up and study in a new environment because when you know the security guards and librarians, its a sign that you spend too much time there. So, cue PANERA! Panera is my study spot when I'm sick of the library. There are a lot of tables, free Wi-Fi, its relatively quiet, there's coffee, and the food is great! Just a few warnings: between 11am and 2pm daily (the "peak hours"), you're only allowed to go online for 30 minutes. I don't mind because not allowing me on iChat or Facebook forces me to get a few hours of solid studying in. If you arrive during peak hours, you may have a hard time finding a good seat near an outlet. I would suggest coming before 11am to secure a good table or after 2pm to avoid the crowd. Also, I spend way too much money here. For brunch (starts after 10am), I like to go for a soup/salad combo, an Americano and a pastry. For a snack, another pastry. For an early dinner, I usually go for a salad/sandwich combo. So for a full day of studying, I can easily spend at least $20 on food and drinks. But it's definitely worth it when I ace that exam! read more

For some really hearty, tasty artisan bread this is the place to go. Every time I go here I'm excited by the plethora of carb options staring at me through the display glass. I always enjoy the soups here and have tried the creamy tomato, chicken noodle, and turkey chili. Their crispani pizza thingies look delicious. When you buy one of their tasty, but pricey loaves, they slice it right there for you and you can choose how thick you want your slices. This is a place for someone who is serious about making their own sandwiches. They also have free Wi-fi. Any problems with my order, or customer service issues have been rectified and handled above and beyond what was required by managers/assistant managers. One big example was when a girl who works there freaked out one night, when we came back right at closing because our order wasn't right. She also called the shift leader some names and even said "F***" in front of my boyfriend and I which we thought was extremely unprofessional, but we were loaded up with two fantastic loaves of Asiago Cheese Bread and a "Come Back Please" voucher. We didn't really do anything, or nag, but just came back because our order wasn't quite right. They could have lost a star because of the attitude of the cashier, but thanks to her shift leader, manager, and the great food we'll continue to return. read more

We didn't check the order because we were in a hurry. We trusted they check their orders. We got to our destination and when we opened the bag...no muffins. We called and they said...we should have checked our order...rude...we suggested to pick them up on our way back home and they said we couldn't do that because they were out of those items and that's why probably they didn't put them in the bag. EXCUSE ME? Ok..can we get a refund for the 2 items? NO, WE CAN'T DO THAT. At this point we understood this person was completely useless to solve our issue so we decided to reach out to corporate with a complaint, since it was obvious the person who answered was not very helpful at all and wasn't giving us a choice to either give us the missing item or refund us. Not a reply from corporate either. Well..no wonder the people at that establishment doesn't care about giving a bad service and ripping us off. We decided to file a complaint with the credit card to get our money back so thank you Amex. Panera.. I have to mention my usual gripe about chain restaurants... bland food, bland service, bland dining space, etc. etc. Okay, past all that now... So, this is a bread company, right? Has anyone noticed that the bread really is not very good? Have you actually tried their bagels? They are tough, bland and even flavors that should have some serious flavor, like jalapeno, are blah at best. There are some decent flavor combinations on their sandwiches, but the best ones are so ridiculously high in calories that it's hard for me to even eat a half. And as one reviewer mentioned, a baguette as a side to a sandwich, WTF were these guys thinking? And a very tough, nearly inedible baguette at that! At least I can opt for a very pitiful, beatup looking apple instead. Their soups are terrible, tasting mostly of salt and blando-ness. Unless you are into canned soups, then I guess in that case they're OK. The lines can get seriously ridiculous here and it makes me wonder how a place that is opposite a New Seasons, where you can go and have a sandwich built, or even better, do the wok bar, stays in business. read more

My son and I went to Penera bread last night to get a claim chowder. The employees were vere very professional and the assistant supervisor Meghan was very nice . They treated me like I was in legal sea food in Boston. That place is a great environment to eat.
