I'm not a Panera Bread fan. I'm a Corner B. (Corner Bakery) kinda gal. But, while visiting my cousins in Oregon awhile back. We stopped here for some breakfast and for some reason I feel that this is the only Panera Bread that I've been to that has gotten my order right and in a timely manner. There is nothing better than the smell of fresh baked bread. Nothing. And if I had ever smelled fresh baked bread walking into Panera, they might have earned 5 stars. But given that this place is suppose to be all about the bread, that wonderful smell seems to be strangely lacking. That being said, I would and will go to this place over and over again. I love a good sandwich, and this place is as good as any in Hillsboro. But you can get a pretty darn good sandwich and the soup I've had was pretty decent. And extra bonus for having several side options. I personally go for an apple, cause who doesn't love an apple with their soup and sandwich? But you can also get chips or some more bread. And they have cookies, brownies, and other yummy treats available. It's not as fast as Subway or some of the other sandwich places. But if you want Subway it's right across the parking lot, go there. If you want something a little more interesting and don't mind the 10 or so minute wait, give this place a try. read more

The crew working at this location HUSTLES. They run the place impressively, every team member. I can see what's happening behind the counter with them any time I go there. I think this is how they manage to handle huge lunch crowds yet keep the lines short and wait times short. The General Manager (Neil) is out with the team working side-by-side with them, or out tending to customers in the seating area (probably the best place to gauge how well his team is doing in the back). I saw him proactively give a lady her money back at her table for a dressing packet being expired, he handled it perfectly. Once I asked a different manager (Jim) why a certain sandwich was so much higher in calories than the others and he was able to explain exactly why. Overall, they work hard, they hustle and all the while they are super friendly. This wins big points for me. It's worth it to get a Panera card for the discounts. The food is delicious for the price. The sandwiches are large and the fresh custom breads puts them way ahead of subway or jimmy johns. They do what they do very well, even for a chain. Great place to get coffee, sit by a fire they always have going and use WiFi. I'll keep going back. Nice job. read more

I was really happy to try out the green goddess Cobb salad that my coworker suggested, I ordered a half one and drove homen when I got home I notice the salad was kind of bland and so that I didn't receive any salad dressing, really sad about it and too far to drive back. I've been coming here since they opened and it has really gone way downhill! I called 5x yesterday morning to complain and NO ONE EVEN ANSWERED THE PHONE - NO WAY TO LEAVE A MESSAGE EITHER! I had the Napa Chicken Salad sandwich - yuk! The bread seemed stale and the chicken salad was just gross with salad lettuce bits thrown on, but I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to upset my dining partner so that's why I tried calling 5x yesterday instead. Stay away. The Mediterranean bowls we ordered were NOTHING like the menu pictured. They told us in advance they were out of cherry tomatoes (nice gesture), but what was keeping an employee from walking one block to the Winco and buying more?? There was no arugula, and the bowl was 95% rice and quinoa, with a dab of hummus, chicken, and 4 olives. Why is it that I now have to see three sets of numbers when I slum my way into Panera bread - price for half, price for whole, and calorie count? It's an admirable effort on the part of Panera's marketing team, I'll give them that. They know people aren't going to change their mind at because it's now readily apparent that their turkey sandwich weighs in at 900 delicious calories. At most they might opt for half forgetting of course that their side baguette (aka the worst side ever for something that's main feature is already bread) and drink of choice are bumping that meal up to over 1,000 (yes, even if you drink diet). They also know that people aren't going to think about the 135mg of cholesterol (your dv being 300mg) or the astounding 1,400mg of sodium (your dv being 2400mg) in a cobb salad. Hey, it's got vegetables AND protein! That 500 calorie dish won't make me fat! The sodium and fat and everything involved in processing your meal is what allows for that almost infallible chain consistency. And that's the point. It won't make you fat, just don't eat it every day. Everything in moderation, right? So other than trying to have something they can point at and say "See, we're making the effort for health consciousness" despite changing nothing and continuing to offer nothing that has genuine health value on their menu, what exactly are the accomplishing with this? read more

Overrated and overpriced! Paid 9.00+ for soba noodles served on half of the small-sized bowl. i was really surprised of how small it was! Noodles and Company's "small" bowl serves even bigger portion. The soup was also lukewarm, and it wasn't that good, honestly. Hubby thought it was just some kind of high schoolers working in the kitchen. At least i was pleased with the chicken chipotle avocado melts. Since today was such a beeaaaautiful day, i actually felt like having a salad, so we went searching searching and came here since i recall eating at a panera in cupertino, ca last summer. i'm suuch a big lover for breads, so my cravings for salad went away once i stepped in and saw the beautifully yummy danishes, muffins and breads displayed right before my eyes. my fatty ass ordered a whole sandwich and a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup (check website for soup days) and a clam chowder for the bf. broccoli and cheese soup was yummy and hot, clam chowder was a little room temperature (i like it HOT HOT HOT) but it also isn't like san francisco style (i will always love) so my standards for chowder is quite picky. anyway, also had the bravo turkey sandwich which was ok, need to add spicey brown mustard for a little kick. the coolest thing about ordering your food is that you get a choice of kettle chips, french or whole grain bread, or an apple. APPLE?! i love it! fruit cup costs extra... but hey its not cheap eating healthy! read more

Yes, Panera, I do love you! Your delicious salads, divine soups and decadent pastries make my mouth water! Your coffee....not so much. But it's at least decent. I love it when I get lucky and order a side of whole wheat baguette just after it comes out of the oven...yum! I don't like it when I get what seems to be yesterday's leftovers and the bread is as tough as a chewed up dog bone. Eww. My kids find it to be a real treat when we pay you all a visit. They get a WHOLE DISPLAY CASE of yummy goodies to choose from. I also love the prepackaged goodies that are usually displayed by the door. I have bought those yummies many times to bring to gatherings in a quick jam and everyone seems to really enjoy them. I love that the calories for each menu item is displayed on a large menu board. This really helps me make wiser choices for my meal selections. The workers at this Panera seem very happy with their work. They tend to be very friendly and helpful. I had a gal that worked there help me get everything to my table as she saw I had my hands full. She then stopped by again when we were done and offered to help me clean up.. How nice :-)))))))) I see some of the same people on every visit. Lack of employee turn-over is a good sign of a nice place to work. Seating as this Panera can be scarce at times. It is a popular spot and it isn't rare that every single table is in use. That is why I like coming here on off hours (anytime before lunch hours and just after lunch hour). I like Panera bread a lot mainly for their fresh Bagels and awesome Panini sandwiches. I like a few bagel flavors like the Cinnamon Crunch & chcolate chip and the hazelnut spread is very good with these. I am also a fan of their Chicken panini sandwiches and the 1/2 sandwich/soup combo is a decent meal for lunches. Their light roast coffee is also good for coffee lovers who like their coffee not too dark. Overall a very good place with good food, cleanliness and great service. read more

Expensive for the quality and quantity you get. Came here for lunch and got a soup and sandwich (panini). The food was decent but it's pretty expensive. It's clean, friendly, well-kept and nice, just like all the other panera locations. It just happened that I went during my birthday month and with the Panera card, you get a FREE pastry! So I got a free carrot cake (yay!) which was delicious. I would probably not come back here for lunch again (like soups, salads, sandwiches) but I'll probably come back for the baked goods. read more

I run hot and cold on Panera. They deliver decent quality food most of the time, but I have been disappointed at times too. Such is what you get with a faster-food-type chain restaurant. The soups and sandwiches are my favorites, with the Smokehouse Panini being the clean-up hitter in my batting line-up. I find the flavors of that sandwich to be good, but inconsistent or bland at times. My wife likes the tomato soup and their asiago cheese bagels. Their salads are decent too. The service is sometimes a bit challenging, but it usually is fine. Hey, what are you going to get with teenagers and twenty-somethings working the register?! The lines can also be maddening at the lunch or dinner rush hours. Also, seating can be challenging at times since there seems to be a contingent of people that setup camp in the booths with a cup of coffee, a bagel and a laptop. These WIFI users tend to take up a great deal of seating at busy times. I suggest Panera as a place to get a quick and decent meal, but try to avoid the busy times. read more

Panera Bread is a great place to eat. The atmosphere is fresh & inviting, and the people who work here seem to enjoy themselves and provide good service at the same time. The food is often a little more "interesting" than I like but generally very good. The prices are decent. They've got great seating and free Wifi. Think Starbucks with more food and less coffee. If you like bread-related products they do seem to have everything. It's not my usual type of food but I'm impressed with what Panera Bread offers. Of note: I like a company that makes a conscious effort to employ happy, service-oriented people. You can tell Panera Bread's management does this. Rarely do I see high-school kids excited about working in a chain, but the kids working here smile all the time - and that makes a huge difference in your experience. On my first visit I had a sort of French-onion-based stew as my soup and it was really terrible. However, on subsequent visits I've been quite pleased with my orders. The presentation is nice, even a little "classy" depending on what you order. It's something you don't expect from a restaurant that makes you order at a counter and pick up your meal. All in all it feels like you're getting a better experience than you paid for when you come to Panera Bread. I enjoy it. The little niche they cater to, they cover quite well. read more

Fantastic!! The setup of this place is actually very nice, the lighting is very comfortable and I can see this as an easy place to chill with some friends, read a book, or study for school. This place definitely has the warm feeling of a nice relaxing coffee shop on campus. So let us talk about the price of this place, for it not actually being a restaurant the prices somewhat high. However, you get your food fast, you do not have to put down a tip and you are not sitting in a dirty fast food restaurant with the typical "faces of Walmart" people gorging themselves on hamburgers and fries with a bunch of constant beeping sound from the microwaves, ovens, whatever they are behind the counter. You get a nice relaxing environment with cool people, with this said I do not think the prices are put of this world. So if you are looking for a decently priced establishment where the food is great, the environment is relaxing and the staff is great check out Panera. Warning: This review of Panera is only for the one located off Cornell Road; I have not been to any of the others and cannot speak to the food or environment, at this time :) PS: I have nothing against the people who shop or receive the wonderful services that Walmart has to offer. I love Panera Bread, and I frequent this location pretty regularly as it is one of the closer lunch options near work. Their food is delicious; I love the "you pick 2 option" that lets you get smaller portions of regular menu items for a reduced price. Who doesn't appreciate variation in their meal? Recently they simplified the menu by giving a price for if it is included in a you pick 2 deal or just on its own. They also include calorie counts for each each menu option on the large menu board, which is extremely helpful if you are trying to be calorie-aware. If you haven't been to a Panera before, here's the drill: you order at the counter, get a buzzers, get your beverage and find a seat, and then pick up your food less than 5 minutes later once your buzzer starts going crazy. You bus your own table - each trash bin has sections for you to separate out your silverware / dishes / trash. That being said, sometimes the employees at this location are really on top of things and bus your tables for you while you are sitting and chatting after your meal, but that is the exception, not the rule. I'd definitely recommend signing up for their "My Panera" rewards card as they occasionally give you deals and coupons pre-loaded onto your card. Just recently I came in, and they told me I had a "$2 off any sandwich deal," so that was pretty great. Try to use your self control and resist buying the delicious baked goods spread out in the display counter next to the cashiers, but I usually end up caving and getting one of their aaaamazing shortbread cookies. If you come here in winter, there are a couple of prime seats next to their indoor fireplace that stay toasty. There is outdoor seating, as well, that is nice in the summer. I would give this location 5 stars, except the parking lot is awful around lunch time. It is really challenging to find a parking spot. Best meal: you pick 2 french onion soup and Asian chicken salad with the baguette and a shortbread cookie. read more

Fuji apple salad is really yummy AND they gave me a free panettone!

Yummmm. Just had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. (I'm a sucker for the bread bowl) One of the better chowders around and I'm really picky when it comes to my clam chowder. Probably should go with the bowl though and have the baguette on the side to get more of the wonderful chowder. My daughter absolutely loves the black bean soup. It's so good, we get the catering size and take it home to freeze so she can have it whenever she likes. We were greeted with a sample cookie (yes I know the marketing reasons behind it and yes, the kids got cookies). They also had a sample of the peach smoothies today. Really good. The sandwhiches are really good too. My wife had the mac and cheese and she really loves it. It's a white cheddar, so it isn't what you get out of the blue box.. The semi bad thing here is the seating. It gets crowded at lunch time, so grab a seat when you can. Other than that, enjoy yourself a good meal here. read more

I've had multiple negative experiences at this location with curbside pickup where I wait 10-15 minutes after the pickup time in my car and watch tons of walk-in customers get their food before me (even though I ordered 20 minutes ago). At the beginning of the pandemic I let it go because I understand they were thrown into offering curbside pickup to sell food. But at this point, they really should have a system down. The worst is when I order a smoothie and they bring it out melted! If you don't have the staff to monitor the curbside delivery situation, then don't offer it. read more

I've had Panera Bread Co. back home in California, and I'm glad they keep up the great service and tasty food here in Oregon as well. What's nice about this Oregon location is that they offer a rewards card kinda thing. So like for every dollar you spend, you get a certain amount of accrued points. A certain amount of points will lead up to free drinks or meals while you dine there. Once in a while I'd come here to have a little study session. The soups, salads and sandwiches are all yummy. I like to get the "You Pick Two" items where I can get to taste a bit of either a soup or salad or sandwich combo. I tried their new "berry smoothie" the other day and it was pretty good. No complaints at all. The facility is kept clean and service is very prompt. I'm here once in a while, but if you're here the whole day, you can probably spend up to $20-25 alone. I would go back to Panera Bread. It would probably be a healthier option than going to another fast food joint. read more

I like Panera because there aren't a lot of options in the near vicinity (that being the vicinity of my lunch hour) to get a relatively simple sandwich and cup of soup. They do it quite serviceably, and so they are an easy go-to for me. They are great with substitutions and changes to any sandwich or salad, which is good because i am one of those annoying picky folks that doesn't WANT all of the veggies. Lettuce only, thanks. You'd be amazed how many restaurants can't deal with that. My biggest complaint about Panera though is the lack of space. Not in the dining room, although it is always busy at peak hours - but at the front counter, they have 3 cash registers squeezed onto what, 6 feet of counter? Yes I am somewhat of a big girl, but I was literally standing sideways today to give my order. Then off to the drink/lids/napkins/straws/condiment station, where there is room for at most one person to fill their drink and one to stand and do all of the other stuff - grab a lid, straw, butter for your baguette, etc. Immediately opposite is the garbage can and busing tubs, and it's also right next to the food service counter where you pick up your order. It's just a terrible layout. I always feel rushed and crowded from the time I place my order until I sit down with it. The soups though? Goo-ood. All of them. Get the baked potato soup on a rainy day, with half of a turkey sandwich. Happy happy. read more

I spent a good amount of my time here as a student - studying and having meals. I also enjoyed their Chai Teas - super sweet and tasty. Overall, there was something about this place that always had me coming back... the people were nice and there was always a good spot to sit. I go to Panera because it is convenient, quick, and the salads are fairly healthy. The parking lot for this location is mayhem during the weekday lunch hour and you normally have to wait for someone to finish eating and leave so you can find a seat. The food is prepared pretty quickly so sometimes you end up standing around, holding your food as it gets cold, waiting for someone to finish eating so you can swoop in and claim their table before someone else. They keep adding and subtracting items from the menu (not just the seasonal items) so verify that your favorite item is still available. The sandwich options are very unimpressive for being a cafe environment. In my opinion, the best sandwich option is a grilled cheese. The hot sandwiches seems to be pre-assembled and slightly heated. The only items I will get are the soups and salads. I know I will be back but only because it is close to work. 2 stars. read more

Panera bread has the best baguettes I ever had in the US. It's quality is superb and its on par and even better than the baguettes you get from Paris. The price is a little expensive than other grocery stores like Fred Meyer or Safeway, but there is no comparison. What I really like about the baguette from Panera bread is that it's chewy inside but crispy on the outside, perfect combo. Just a tip, order a whole baguette, ask them to heat it up in the oven and then eat it with butter, its delicious. read more

Tonight, I was craving Chicken Noodle Soup in a bread bowl, and my boyfriend and I called ahead to see if they still have bread bowls. After a dispute with this Panera 5 yrs ago that surrounded the use of chicken salad and calling it tuna salad, I decided to give this location another chance. My friend ordered roast beef amd cheese, got turkey and bacon (he ate it, but, told the server that the girl at registered had twice called it a TLT and been corrected). I ordered a caesar salad with no chicken and sent it back when It had chicken on it. The salad was wilted and in defrost stages. So, the experience was not good. It's a disappointment because the Beaverton Panera is fabulous. Hillsboro location is closer, but, I am done trying. read more

Stopped by here to get a little work done and the staff was extremely friendly. My food was great and the WiFi if free. The only issue is that even though the booths have electrical outlets, they're full of food so you can't plug anything in. That seems like a liability and is also an inconvenience.
