I haven't been to Panera in several years and I think this is my first time coming for BREAKFAST. Arrived and the building is HUGE. It was 8am on a Wednesday and the place was EMPTY. I wondered how they stay in business. Walked to the self service computer monitor and placed my order. Placed my order but was NOT given the option to have a receipt (not even an emailed receipt). They did have a barcode to scan and track your order on your phone so I did that. It let me track my order but had no receipt option. So I had to go to the counter and ask for one. Order came out pretty quickly. This is what I ate: 1 - latte - this was the best thing I ordered and was pretty good. Right amount of froth and temperature was good. Quality espresso as well. 2 - Croissant bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. This was a pre-made breakfast sandwich that they heated in a microwave. Similar to what you would get at Starbucks. Nothing special, just ok. 3 - Cinnamon roll - I saw they advertised a "new recipe" for this and I enjoy a good cinnamon roll and gave it a try. This was the WORST thing I ordered. It was cold and tasted like something I would buy at a grocery store. Would never food ANYONE for being fresh or homemade. There are better options elsewhere! read more

I'm back with another review because my wife loves Panera, and I go along with it. I tried a Stuffed Salad with Steak the other day, and what an adventure it was. Great idea, actually, and the first couple of bites, I thought, hey, this might be a winner. Then the aftertaste started. Then my wife asked how the steak was, and I realized I hadn't found any steak yet. Lo and behold, after digging through it, I found the steak was actually a tiny steak, well, I'll call them flakes. I knew that because of the color, not the texture, they were too small to determine texture. My wife and I discussed it after studying the tiny flecks for a while, and we had to assume that was my steak. No thanks, I tossed it and looked for something to get the taste out of my mouth. Used to be a big time regular here and it used to be a 4+ star place (except for the tiny portions & the like 2 pieces of meat you get on your $9-12 sandwich lol), but after the last year and a half or so (once Will & Liz left, really) service has gone Very downhill. The young people that have been working there have no personality, hardly any manners & should probably have a little more training for the restaurant and customer service before theyre put on the floor alone. We still visit once in a while, but its now usually just a quick pick up. Hope is still here though and we'll keep visiting now & then with hopes of a return of that comforting feeling. read more

Service is terrible here. More often than not, my order would be incorrect. I ask for avocado on the side instead of in my sandwich... it's usually on the side or totally left out of the order. I've ordered a whole sandwich, paid for a whole sandwich, but only gotten a half sandwich. I've gotten bread so stale it fell apart while trying to eat it. read more

Stopped in for lunch, and my wife ordered two half sandwiches with soup, two lattes, for us, and a macaroni and orange juice for the kid. After bringing out our food, the employee informed us that the other halves of our sandwiches would be coming out shortly. My wife informed them that she'd only ordered half sandwiches, but when she looked at the receipt, they had charged her for full sandwiches. The employee was unwilling to keep the other halves of the sandwiches and refund us for the amount they had overcharged us. The best she said she could do was give us pastries instead. read more

Years ago when Panera moved in, we felt it was overpriced. But now, whatever buisness model they use really makes a lot of sense and the prices are right for a quick, healthy lunch. Prices are in the $10-15 range which is on par with other fast food places, but the food is healthier. The new bagel sandwiches are delicious. I'm rating four stars since mine was a bit cold in the middle, and they're a bit small--I had to order additional food before I was full. Service is fast and the place is cozy! read more

I don't come here very often, but I've been fairly the last few times. Tonight I ordered a sandwich with extra tomatoes, sauce, and arugula. It took 30 minutes to come out. When I got it, they completely left out the meat and cheese. I brought it back, and they said they'd remake it. Again, the wait was long (even though there were hardly any other customers). 47 minutes after my initial order, they brought me a new sandwich. This time it had cheese, but still no meat! For a $13 sandwich, that is inexcusable. I would've complained, but I had to rush out to get to my next meeting. The prices have gone up as well. I likely will not dine here again based on this experience. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. Rude staff. Panera error and refused to fix. Way too many choices for me to return.

We eat here at least 1 to 2 times per week, sometimes more. The Saturday night crew tonight left a lot to be desired. We left a 5$ ripe hoping to cheer them up. But the experience and service was not very friendly. Pretty much threw us our food on the way out. The cashier was friendly, but for a $40 dinner for two people the food was not up to normal quality. The broccoli chicken bowl was extremely runny and so was the Mediterranean bowl. Perhaps it was the rice that was runny, but all the water in both dishes completely ruined both meals. The taste was bland and removed from the bowls. On top of all, the large soda was 90% ice leaving 5-10 small sips maximum before it was completely empty, except for the ice. read more

Stopped here after day trip to GNP. Almost didn't come in because the "average" yelp rating was only three stars. Then I noticed that all the yelp Elites actually gave this place high marks and the lower star reviews were from people who don't have many reviews under their belt. Not sure, but the lower reviews might be coming a few vocal people with an axe to grind? Whatever the case I'm glad I paused to read a few reviews and made the decision to give this place a try. Anyway, our food was awesome, quickly prepared and delivered to our table by two very polite and kind gentlemen. Okay, so the caprese salad was a little sweet for my taste, but we're in Montana so I'll let that slide. Loved the other soups and sandwiches. Floor could use a good cleaning but it's 8:00 pm so perhaps the employees could work on that for next time? All in all it's a value priced option for a family especially when you're trying to find something healthy in the $10-12/person range. read more

Stopped here several times while traveling for work. They frequently run out of bread in the afternoon (around 3 or 4), so getting a baguette with my meal didn't happen anytime I stopped here for dinner. The online ordering was shut down for the 4 weeks I was in town, when I called in an order the person I spoke with said they are short staffed and trying to train new people. The food is your average Panera. I'd go again, but low expectations of service. read more

I have a mild crush on Panera and I'm a little embarrassed to say it. It's a food chain. They theoretically serve basic food; soups, sandwiches, and salads, which I typically don't crave. I think their prices are high. But, here in Kalispell, it's hard to find restaurants with quality, interesting ingredients that you can get quickly. And I think I'm just really prone to their flavor combinations. So far, I've fell in love with the Modern Caprese sandwich, the French Onion soup, the Chicken Wild Rice soup, the Beef and White Cheddar sandwich, the Beef and Arugula sandwich. I've made it a goal to try every one of their sandwiches.... My grandmother loves their Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese. And I honestly didn't expect that I would like Panera that much, so I'm giving it five stars despite the smaller portions and high prices. I feel healthy good after I eat here. I also appreciate the city vibe in the store, and that's hard to find in Kalispell. Even though Panera at this location is getting pretty low starred reviews, I've been pleasantly surprised with their service and how expedited their food comes out. And every time I come here it's crazy busy, so I think a lot of people really like this place despite how the Yelposohere feels about them. Thanks for coming to Kalispell Panera! read more

Just to start out, i knew i was in for a rollercoaster when a girl named Lillian greeted my at the drive through by not asking how my day was, not anything nice, but instead asking "What do you want??" I then placed my order, a chicken bacon rancher, and it took her about five tries to hear me correctly, as i hear her mumbling on about how dumb i am on the other line. I pull up to the window and i find what i can only presume to be lillian, as she gives me a horrible look and literally throws my food at me! And i didn't even get the right order! Sandwiches are extremely inconsistent. While I have gotten decent food the sandwiches often lack main ingredients. I'm disappointed as usually Panera is consistent quality. Steak and white cheddar sandwhich was missing onions, horseradish and clearly made in a rush. read more

I have been to Paneras in other towns, but my visit to the Kalispell store was better than a lot of others. Everyone was friendly and helpful. As I sat waiting for my meal to be brought to my table I observed the staff. Every person was hustling to clean tables, bring out food, answer questions and all in a professional, helpful manner. The lady I think might have been the manager I noticed was helping people as they were leaving by asking if they wanted to take their food home and thanking people for coming in. She was real - did not sound fake with her gratitude. Very pleasant. The food that came quickly and hot was fresh and very good. I ordered the vegetable soup and the Mediterranean 1/2 sandwich. The only negative issue and the reason for a 4 instead of 5 star was the attitude of the young man taking the orders. It seemed that he really did not want to be there. The mood he had was very different than everyone else working there. He mumbled so I was not able to make out all he was saying. Perhaps he was not feeling well or having a bad day. We were traveling from out of town and stopped by here for some food and coffee. The staff here went above and beyond to make our visit great. Josh at the front counter was so nice and helped one of us sign up for the Panera membership to get some nice discounts. And the manager checked in with us to see how we were and how the food was. The Kalispell place has been open for awhile so I thought I'd give it a try as we drove through town. I ordered a sandwich with chicken and cheese; my companion also ordered a sandwich. His came out perfect; mine came out with nothing but cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. Four kinds of it! I had read the menu wrong and ordered a cheese sandwich, so that's on me. However, when the drive-through employee repeated our order back to us, he actually said "chicken sandwich with cheese" - or words to that effect. Panera says if you contact them through their website, they'll do everything in their power to correct the error. I contacted them NOT because I wanted a free sandwich - as previously stated, that was my mistake - but because I wanted them to know about the error and hopefully prevent it from happening to another customer. I never heard a word from them. I'm hoping they got my message and took whatever steps were necessary so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I love this particular Panera. Where I came from in Florida the salad greens were usually half rotten and the food was mediocre at best. Not this one. Fast, efficient, clean and tasty. The green goddess salad is a favorite. I find most things are great here and it's not super pricey. A whole salad is just over $10 and I even converted the hubs that it's a viable option for a fast healthy bite. They have the pick two which is also a variety of options. Salad and soup? Soup and sammich? The possibilities are endless! Then have a delicious cookie. They had some scrumptious bread in the window that was winking at me too. read more

Yum, I like their salads and their soups, they are always very flavorful and yummy. The bread is really good, too, chewy and fresh and crusty. We had to wait a while till we finally got a Panera here in the Flathead Valley, but it's in a good spot, close to Walmart and Target etc. read more

The counter employee seemed to struggle with getting our phone number correct in order to access our account despite repeating it at least 4 times. We chalked it up to him being new. We ordered food to eat in as well as a couple of bagels to go. We were brought one part of our meal to the table we were clearly occupying but after waiting over 20 minutes I had to go back to the counter to inquire about our breakfast. Found our food in a to-go bag. Didn't know how long it had been sitting there. When I brought it to the attention of a manager, she was snotty and walked away. The coffee in the self serve carafe was cold and the store removed their microwave oven so no way to heat it. The vanilla cinnamon role was cold, not even room temperature, which leads me to believe that they simply pulled out frozen roles and put them in a pan, to create the appearance that they were freshly baked and the roll was stale. I get that they likely use prepackaged rolls and then bake them in the store but how about a little effort to at least warm them. This location really struggled during the pandemic but I thought they were finally over that hurdle. Clearly still struggling. Won't be back for a while. read more

This Panera is fairly new. I have been to many Panera's and this locations lay out is great and fresh! The employees are friendly and up beat. The food comes out fresh and tasty! I enjoy their salads and that dang French bread! I try not to eat the bread and they offer an apple but come on...an apple! So if you are on the Kalispell area this Panera is really good! The parking lot is tight but park away and walk up. read more

Wow, we are moving up in the world, with Panera and all. Thanks Canadians! I loved the chicken Cobb salad and will return for that salad! I thought about ordering at the kiosks but with two kids I didn't have enough hands. So I waited in a long line, that went surprisingly quickly and ordered at the counter. This place just opened so some of the staff didn't know about stuff, but that's okay. They'll get a hang of it soon. I also got the 2 for deal and received Mac and cheese, which was for my kid. It was yummy. If you get a drink, then you can get a 99cent pastry. ANY pastry for 99cents. That's pretty awesome. Hook line and sinker. Service was good considering it's packed with people (senior citizens apparently loooovvve Panera). The tables were hard to come by. The drive thru was good the one time I went through it. Kinda spendy, but nice to have something in the Hutton Ranch area to choose from. I'd guess all the bad reviews are from older ones with higher expectations. read more

Excellent customer service. They accidentally gave me the wrong half-sandwich. I parked in the pick up spot, and when I was able to talk to someone, she not only fixed the problem, she gave us a whole sandwich with a bag of chip at no extra charge and brought it out super fast. I would give this zero stars if that were an option. We ordered at the kiosk, where u get a drink and a pastry w/ your meal. My friend (who had cash) ordered at the counter. When our food came, one of my friends got the wrong soup, and my other friend and I didn't get the pastries. When my friend asked for her cinnamon roll, the server asked her for a receipt (which she didn't have because the kiosk ordering doesn't provide one as a "guest.") After a minute of back and forth, the server reluctantly got it and brusquely set it on the table. As he walked away he looked over his shoulder at us with a snarky expression, as though we were trying to rip him off. All three of us had something wrong with our orders, and then to be treated like we were criminals in the making was an off-putting experience. The only redeeming thing was the mac 'n cheese, which was creamy and delicious. But great mac 'n cheese is not enough to lure me back. I will not return. P.S.
