I have been coming here since they opened. The food is fine. No issues. The ambience is Panera. Where they are failing is the continual slide downward with customer service. There is a complete lack of urgency. No remorse for errors (we all make them) , and laziness in the performance of their duties. Maybe this is the future of anyone that doesn't pay top dollar but I am sad to see it here in Monroe. It's becoming as bad as McDonald's for customer service. read more

Sorry, I won't be back. A few months ago I got a sandwich and asked if they had ketchup, which they didn't. A restaurant without ketchup?? Today, I decided to try their new mac and cheese sandwich (not good by the way) and asked for ketchup again.. of which they do not, still. It's basically a grilled cheese with noodles but no ketchup? ?? The woman said they used to carry it but no one ever asked for it so it always went to waste. Well, a few months ago I did ask but that doesn't count? That's no one? Lies. The reason no one asks for ketchup is because you either hide it or don't have any.. and we do ask, you just don't know or care. Next time I'll go across to Wendy's or Taco Bell and eat there. We also ordered a kids meal and you charged/ordered us an adult. You also toasted our bagel but forgot to bring it to us. Failure on all parts today. I thought this was a bagel business but that would require having bagels. Multiple times I have been to this location to buy bagels but they had none or at least not what I wanted. I have been told that the Asiago cheese bagel is one of the more popular, if so, why don't they increase the daily production until they have a couple left at the end of the day. Or use the power of their point of purchase systems to plan for daily need. When your out at noon your management is failing to serve the customer and maximize the companies profits. This has become a pattern. Love their bagels do not like the way they run their business. Won't be back. Have been here 3 times, twice when we were one of 3 parties in the entire place, si not hitting then at peak times. Steak sandwich was okay for what was charged. Before leaving, decided to purchase half dozen sprouted rolls for 3.99, as advertised. After ordering and being rung up, I was told there were only 4 rolls left. Price at register was over $4. Asked if they were going to substitute 2 other rolls for the ones they did not have. Clerk stymied. Couldn't figure out what to do. No authority to substitute, no authority to adjust price. Just stood there like deer in headlights. She is charging me for 6, giving me 4. Panera, you are not going to make a go of it unless you give some authority to your employees and start using some common sense. read more

This Panera used to be awesome. Always got it right and always SO polite and nice... Now it's an absolute dump. The past two times I've come here have been horrible. They were understaffed the first time (which is understandable) so it took 20ish minuets to get my order (also understandable) but the new people they've hired are just garbage. They're rude and they do not care. I just got handed a bag in which the contents were covered in soup, the sandwich looked like it was wrapped by a 3 year old, and apparently they don't do half sandwiches anymore...? this sandwich was the size of the palm of my hand. 1/3 sandwich?? I'd honestly rather just drive to loganville and get Panera next time because this place has gone down hill extremely quickly. This place is terrible, NO customer service, had to use KIOSK, could not ask questions, employees hiding out in back, only one in restaurant & tables were ALL dirty...I am ashamed of this location, just moved here from Buford & their location was packed inside & drive thru all the time...until they get new management they will not survive...I will never waste $30 here again. read more

I have been to this Panera several times during the morning and at lunch. Overall the staff has been polite and friendly. The food has always been delicious. The reason I give this location three stars is because order accuracy has been sporadic. Most times I get what I've ordered but on occasion, they've been out of what I've ordered or I've received someone else's meal. I have noticed that this Panera has been steadily improving with time and I look forward to reconsidering this grade. This is a new restaurant and growing pains are to be expected. Update: I've been back to the Monroe Panera a few times since I first posted this review. I'm glad to say they are consistently polite, orders are correct and the food remains tasty. Great place but too sophisticated for Monroe. People here wont get it as they think Applebees is gourmet. I like the place but it will ultimately fail due to the Democratic of Monroe...SAD... Service and food are good. Slow start for staff as Monroe does not offer a great labor pool. Seems most of the staff is ok but even young girls need strong leadership to succeed. I would recommend everything on the menu. Try changing the bread on a few of the sandwiches for different tastes its very good. read more

I love Panera and was so excited to have one open in Monroe. I have been twice and will not be back. Both times, whoever was there insisted we use the kiosk. There are just too many options and took forever for us to order. We asked about this and were told this is the new way Panera is building their restaurants. So you get one cashier, a few kiosks, and extra people to bring out your food. Anyway, both times my order was incorrect. The first time there was no chicken on my chicken caesar salad. The second time there was no chicken (I thought that would be impossible to happen twice!) and the dressing was Italian, not Caesar. The only reason for 2 stars is that the employee bringing out the food was very nice about it both times. But I won't be back. The price is too high to have to order my own food and not have it come out correct. read more

Let me start by saying I was excited to see a Panera open in Monroe. I have been about 5 times since opening. I will not be back. The last 3 times have all had screwed up orders. Each of the times I had to hear that they are out of certain breads. Not special order bread, the one that is listed with the sandwiches. My wife and I went back yesterday thinking we will give it one more try. We each ordered a whole sandwich, chips, and a yogurt parfait. After sitting for nearly 15 minutes a girl came to the table and said they were out of croissants would we like another type bread, my wife chose another. About 2-3 minutes later another girl came to the table and said we are out of the bread that goes on the sandwich I had ordered. I selected another, she said we are also out of that. I selected a third. I might add it was 2:30 in the afternoon. A few minutes later she came out with our order. I immediately noticed each of our plates had two bags of chips and some type of yogurt stick. My wife took them back up to the kitchen window. The girls response was, oh, I guess the girl entered it wrong. My wife responded, I ordered it at your kiosk. She showed her the receipt that showed the order was entered correctly. She then gave her what we ordered. My sandwich was supposed to have bacon on it. It's in the name of the sandwich. No bacon to be found. I finally got up went to the counter and said is your manager here. The girl said is there something I can help you with? I said y'all have screwed this whole order up and my sandwich still isn't right. I asked if the Mgr was there. She actually shrugged her shoulders like she didn't know and turned around and walked in the back without saying a word. All I can say is I'm a business owner and know the challenges you can face daily. But this is just poor management. It wasn't a one time thing, it's happened the last three times. I'm no longer a customer of this restaurant. It's more concerning that the Management/Owner doesn't seem to care. So good luck if you choose to eat here. read more

My fiancé and I just had the best lunch experience! We already love Panera food, but this location was amazing. Wonderful service, super attentive and very polite. I really enjoy Panera food but the staff at this location leaves much to be desired. More often than not my order is wrong or incomplete. The wait time is longer than other places many times just for them to still get it wrong. There is one employee who gave outstanding customer service but out of all the times I have visited she has only helped me twice. Most recent visit was the last straw. My order was completely wrong and cost more so instead of refunding the amount they wanted me to order something else... It was crazy. Then when I didn't want to do that she gave me the difference in cash and then wanted to short me 18 cents.. Its not about the cents but just terrible customer service.
