A decent trendy chain sandwich shop. The soup, sandwiches, and salads are nothing exciting by any means, but are all usually on par with average to good lunch spots. It's almost like fast food fare in the sense that the sandwiches are obviously pre-made then microwaved to order. This is apparent in the fact that its always packed with people but the food comes out in minutes. If your in the area, in a hurry, and don't want greasy fast food Panera's is a good choice. I recommend Panera Bread in New Hartford. The salad is my favorite with warm bread and a delicous cookie. The service is very fast and I eat at Paneras during the week. Typical panera but definitely not the cleanest I've been in. The floor and the silverware need a nice cleaning.

Tomato and mozzarella flatbread has one small piece of mozzarella and 4 pieces of arugula. Also had 2 promotions on my MyPanera card that were not offered to me. Usually it's great. Today it was just super disappointing! read more

I have never been to Panera before. I mean, I heard great things but just never went inside. I was on a business trip and as a group we decided to try it. I stopped at this location on my way home from Vermont. It was packed! Which is always a good sign. The staff was very efficient and courteous. My sandwich and soup were prepared just as I had hoped. If you wanted to come to this location to relax and get work done, it might be difficult as it is loud because it is so busy. However, it was a great lunch stop! read more

First of all, they were out of most of the fixings for the salad I wanted. I ordered another. The first soup I ordered, I inquired if it was gluten free. After 10 minutes of searching through a large book they found the page with the soup on it and gave me the page to read the ingredients to see if it had wheat. Really? You couldn't do that for the customer? It did have wheat so I ordered a vegetable soup. When it came, it looked like it might have small pasta. Back to the counter. Another 10 minute wait. Again I am handed a page with the ingredients so I can take my time and look for wheat. Seriously, don't these employees know how to read. I threw the soup out and went down the road to Core Life where every entre is GF. So if you are gluten free, don't waste your time here. It is torture. And ridiculous in this day and age. Went today for a quick sandwich and I agree that this place is not worried about customer satisfaction. I used to like Panera when it first opened in New Hartford, but now it is terrible. I ordered a frontega chicken panini and it was very bad, dry bread, no dressing, a very small speck of mozzarella and few small pieces of boiled chicken breast. So basically, it's just toasted bread. What happened to smoked chicken and that yummy dressing that makes the sandwich? Did the recipe change or was that employee incompetent and careless? Total waste of money! I use to love their fuji apple chicken salad and more times than not a few ingredients were missing so I stopped going to Panera, today's visit just confirmed what I already knew. Also you can tell that their employees hate their job, not friendly at all. If nothing changes, this location will be closed in no time since we have a lot of great local restaurants where you can get decent food. read more

I am not a huge supporter of the major chains, but let's face it folks...If you go to Panera's in any state, it is the same quality. The early morning dark roast is comparable to most dark roasts you find in cafe's. I do admit the wi fi and free refills make this a dangerous place for me if I am alone and thinking too much...I could easily gain roots. :) It is family friendly (always) and the service is usually quite good. The pastries are plentiful and the sandwich choices are full range (but if you're in the Utica/New Hartford area, trust, me try our local: Bennu's {see my review about that please}. Regardless, I do Panera's as a great meeting place for my monthly reconnection with friends . The asiago bagel is a fave of mine and especially if you have it right out of the toaster. Panera's takes some simple and does it uniquely well...a sandwich and soup :) only one complaintish thing....I find it funny that you have a sandwich and soup and your choice for a side can be more bread...isnt that a little redundant? :) read more

They are all great. Good bagels, but would like it if they did the work instead of passing off the cream cheese. When we asked for an extra cream cheese, the counter help asked if we wanted a whole tub, not too professional, nor is it good to indicate you think your customer should not ask for extra. They charge, and they should be more accommodating and not so snotty. read more

Not a fan of this place at all anymore. Poor service and the food is microwaved, overpriced for how poorly they serve your food to you. Every time I go, they are out of bread or they mess up my order. Last time I went here, my food was still frozen and had the microwaveable plate still underneath it. Needless to say, that was the last time I went here. The silverware is never clean, the floors need major scrubbing, and the booth seats have holes in them and fall off. Try as I may I cannot order by on my Windows phone. I just wasted 1 hour of my life trying to buy a single bagel. A fellow in New Hampshire developed and published a copycat app for Windows and Android as, it seems, Panera's works well only with IPhone. Even the copy app requires several minutes of play before even it could not produce any resuIt. I will pass on Paneras for a while till they make it easier to shop. read more
