Will be a long time before I go back. I do not mind spending for lunch but I do mind getting ripped off. Ordered the 1/2 size strawberry poppyseed salad. It had to be at the very least a third smaller than in the past. Manager agreed with me and said that the lettuce is portion calorie controlled. My young daughter and I used to go here every morning on our way to dropping her off at school, and we've dropped easily thousands of dollars at this Panera location since they opened. "Used to," is the operative phrase. Because we're done with this place now since they hired a seemingly insane woman who cussed me out, in front of my little kid, for having the audacity to ask that they cut our bagel sandwich in two so we could share it. We will never darken the door of another Panera after this uber weird experience that really shocked my kid. I asked to speak to a manager about it, while the woman was pushing the receipt in my face, and ranting: "It doesn't say cut the bagel on the receipt!" One woman said she was the manager, it turned out she wasn't, as she tried to get the woman to leave me alone. Then I went and talked to the real manager and asked her what she was going to do about it. She did nothing. Note to food establishments: if you're going to hire insane, profane and verbally abusive people who cuss and spit in the presence of 9 year olds, to work in your restaurant, be prepared to lose customers... permanently. read more

The only reason I give this place 1 star is because of the outstanding service by Valeria. When Panera Bread first opened out west a few years ago, I would go to any location and find great food and value. It was the little extras that meant so much, ie. asiago cheese sprinkled in the tomato basil soup, dijon mustard on the abundant tuna sandwich, the cabernet sauce on the steak salad. Those extras are ALL GONE! Panera has become just another corporate conglomerate. The tomato soup portion has gotten smaller and smaller, is definitely not served piping hot. The tuna sandwich does not taste like tuna but rather mayonnaise, so heavy I might have just ordered a mayo sandwich. I'm still wondering where went the tuna. I was told they could build my steak salad but no point without blue cheese or cabernet sauce. I had to wait 20 minutes for a new pot of coffee to be brewed. Weak, no taste. In addition, this place needs a face lift or at least a paint job. Walls are disgusting! Please don't wipe down chairs and then wipe off tables. I don't want to eat on a table after someones behind was wiped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hasta la vista Panera forever! the employees here suck balls. no, seriously. I've worked in a restaurant and I think its unacceptable when someone wants their food a certain way (and its doable) and they flat out don't do it because they're lazy pieces of sh*t. All I wanted was the thai chopped chicken salad with the dressing on the side and no wontons or cashews. I told whoever was working the cash register, and she ran to the back to tell whoever was making the salad not to put cashews or wontons. I heard the worker groan and I even thought to myself, "oops. my bad. sorry." cause i know how much it sucks when you're in the process of making something and you have to start over... but you're getting paid to do it so we start over. I grab my to-go order and i happily sit down back at my desk and pull out my salad. I spied wontons and I looked even closer and found tiny bits of cashews. WHAT THE FUCK. What if i was allergic to nuts and I didn't see it? I would've died. Thanks, panera bread. Oh p.s. the only thing i DIDN'T get in my salad was the edamame which was something that I was really looking forward to. I know everyone deserves a second chance because we all have our off-days... but this didn't seem like a mistake to me. but when I come back again, this shit better not happen again. *This is a review about the service I received* I came in early morning to order their awesome bagels(best bagels hands down). I was greeted by one of the so called "managers" and I place my order with her for their bakers dozen. This manager already looks bothered by my order. I ask her to slice the bagels and she gives me another dirty look. She's the one that asked if I wanted them sliced. So then I ask for two tubs of cream cheese and she rings me up I give her my panera rewards info and swipe my card...no receipt prints. She's tells me it'll take a minute so I wander off and see another employee behind the counter, I ask him for some additional knives since these bagels are for co-workers, the manager overhears my request and says "I gave you everything in the bag" and I reply "I realize that but I need more knives" and she comes back with a smart remark "8 weren't enough?" (Keep in mind she's taking someone else's order) So I reply "no, they weren't." The employee hands me the knives and tells me to have a nice day(awesome employee btw). I start walking away as she's asks if I want my receipt, I just walk away and say no thank you. People with negative attitudes should not be working in this industry. You're continuously working with customers face to face, you don't want to ruin someone's day just because you're not happy with yourself or maybe your job. Find something else, work behind a desk or something. This behavior coming from a manager/supervisor is unacceptable. Even the employee realized "since when do we question a customer's request?" This woman(blonde, short hair, middle-aged, wears a button up shirt) needs a good customer service refresher course or something. They ran out of ciabatta bread (which I was actually looking forward to) but the begal I had swapped it for was still good! He listened to the issue and actually cared. And he (almost) has my sister's order memorized. He definitely made me want to go back there. 3.5 stars The bread that comes with each meal is hot and fresh! Yum! I ordered the Asian Sesame Chicken salad - which was really good. The dressing was decent and I really liked the crunchy noodle strips. Joe ordered the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad combo (BBQ Chicken salad + Smoked Turkey Sandwich). He would've liked the salad more if it wasn't so skimpy on the dressing...as for the sandwich, well, how can you honestly go wrong with a simple turkey sandwich? Overall, the meal was fine. Panera Bread Co. is one of my favorite places to eat in general but I love this location. The employees here are SO friendly and always quick to get what you ordered. I came here with my girlfriend and she didn't like her meal so one employee very quickly and politely got her a new meal. i fell in love with panera when i was in maryland for college. now i'm back in LA and panera's been popping up all around. went here for lunch when it was raining. there was soooo many people. but we ordered, found a table, got our food, ate and was back to work in an hour. i love the pick two. i always pick a panini + asian chicken salad, but i really wanted soup, so i got the salad + broccoli cheese soup (which the cashier recommended). it made for a lovely rainy afternoon. read more

I love Panera. I don't know why other people are giving it bad reviews but maybe they're unlucky. They're always quick and prompt with ordering peoples' food. It's good to get a free MyPanera card; it's basically a rewards point card. I usually get the Smokehouse Turkey Panini and it is always good. I like how they give you options for your side; either a french baguette, apple, or chips. Unlike Corner Bakery where they just give you a nasty pickle and kettle cooked chips; no options. They're bagels @ Panera are really good too. I've tried the Potato Soup and the Chili here and they're both delicious! This is probably my favorite sandwich shop/cafe to go to instead of going to Subway or get fast food. read more

Dining area was filthy. Wait staff were all too busy behind the counter to clean the tables off, I guess. This is a chronic problem at this location, from what I can tell from other reviews. At least six tables had dirty dishes all over them. Our table still had the number flags from the customers who were sitting there before us, and no salt and pepper shakers. Minus 2 stars; I don't like unclean restaurants. Food - pretty good. I had 2 flatbreads - Turkey Cranberry and Mediterranean. I don't know why, but when I looked at it, my first thought was "airplane food". They were ok though. I also had a bowl of autumn squash soup. Also good but would've been nice if I could've sprinkled some pepper on it - I didn't wanna borrow them from someone else's table though. I was thirsty and got an orange juice when I ordered. I was a bit frustrated when I realized, later, that I could've gotten a jumbo lemonade for the same price. This orange juice was served in a tiny container that could've been downed in like 1 gulp. Well, I guess that's why their stock trades for big bucks. My bf had the French onion soup and a roast beef baguette. He said they were good. I also got a chocolate cupcake to go (I wanted to use up the balance on my gift card). $3.00, and nothing too spectacular, definitely not as good as Sprinkles. Wait staff was friendly and helpful as usual. I placed an order for cinnamon raisin swirl bread (loaf) online ahead of time and interestingly, they have a shelf where they put those orders. I'm glad someone didn't walk off with mine. It'd be easy enough to do. It was not sliced, and I asked one of the workers if she or someone could possibly slice it for me? "Sure, thick or thin?" "Thin!" She took it behind the counter and sliced it. $4.99 for the loaf, about $1.50 more than one you'd buy in the store and the taste was exactly the same. The reason we went here is because a friend had given us gift cards totaling $50. Overall ok, but could've been better. I went to Panera Saturday about 1:45 pm and was surprised by how messy and dirty the place looked. The place was semi filled and any empty table still had their dirty dishes piled up, the carpet/floor was littered with scraps of paper and food, there were no napkins in the holders at the drink stations , and when my pager went off for me to retrieve my own food at the window, the 2 workers there were harried and disorganized requiring me to ask for napkins and a fork, as none had been slapped on my plate. The food isn't cheap- $16 for a salad with chicken and a drink- you would expect better, cleaner, a bit more service. I really like having this place near home- please do better so people like me want to come back. read more

Amazing customer service, I placed an order online to pick up at this location unfortunately when I went to go pickup my order it wasn't ready that's when I realized I had placed it to the wrong location by mistake, when I explained to the staff what I did they were so accommodating and offer to cancel the other order and start my order immediately when I told them I didn't have my debit card with me they said not to worry. This is what I call Incredible customer service they have made a life time customer specially at this location me and my coworkers meet here for early breakfast and the manager and staff are always so nice and polite. read more

I ate at Panera on 11/10. This is my first time eating here, and decided to try it because a few co-workers claimed it was good. I bought the Tega-Panini with the chips, and a Fudge Brownie (total-$10.29). I eat out several times a week and have eaten at a variety of restaurants ranging from fancy to fast food, and I can honestly say that Panera is one of a handful of places that I regret eating at. The Panini I ordered was completely bland and had no taste, and the brownie was very dry. The quality of the food was utterly disappointing. I have been eating at Corner Bakery for several years to my satisfaction. Panini seems to be very similar in the fact that they also focus on healthy bakery items and are in the same price range, however I find the quality of food to be far superior at Corner Bakery. To make matters worse, an hour and a half after I ate there and went back to work, I experienced very bad stomach cramps which I think might have been from the food. I honestly cannot recommend this place, and the food was so disappointing that I wish I had eaten at the Burger King next door instead. The only thing I will give Panera is that the employees were very nice which I appreciate (-hence the 1 star). I think most of their business comes from the CSUN students who want to use their laptops and not be bothered, so they'll pay the $10 for the crappy food to get the (I assume free?) wi-fi. VERY OVER-RATED, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE RANGE. If you want better quality "healthy" food, go to Corner Bakery. If you don't care about being healthy and want a decent sandwich, go to Jersey Mike's (up the street on Nordhoff/Tampa) or take a drive to DeFranco's (Saticoy/Woodley). In short, I think a piece of cardboard with mayo has more taste than the sandwich I ordered at Panera. I also think you're better off going to the grocery store and buying "Little Debbie's" baked goods rather than getting something here. Save your $, don't bother with this place. read more
