Its off the intersection of Olney Laytonsville Road, Olney Sandy Spring Road, And Georgia Avenue.in Olney , Maryland . Its at the end f the parking area next door to Harris Teeter, Laplaya Bowls , & Grilmarx . This place is Called Panera Bread . This place with it being next door too it has a waterfountsin area kids lilve playing with outside . It has a porch patio area before going inside . Once you go inside yubdee the Cashier Narista huge area . It has glass cases filled with all your best pastries such as scones , Cookies , Cinnabuns and more . Behind the and near the barista Cashier area is an somewhat open concept kitchen where they perform their magic to make your best foods you could ever want or ever find anywhere else there . They have huge dining areas for pepple to eat in and have gatherings of families and more . This place is fir people of all age young and old and middle aged there . They are allowed to have activities there and plus maybe charity events . Yez they have WIFI THERE . I tried applying for jobs there and still no word . I want to work there to build bridges between all worlds that come in there .. I want to help make a difference again to make things better since the pandemic . What happened during the Covid Pandemic it was unlawful inexcusable unprofessional Reprehensible unlawful, Unjustifiable and down Right wrong. The behaviors exhibited should never be tolerated in any place of business ever again . Management needs to understand that too . Management needs to give people like me chance ti get jibs there without fear or judgment or bad Politics used against us till they see what we can do to be grwatvassets to the Teams there and the skills from. Places and order for delivery like we have done many times before. We waited over 35 minutes after the Panera app told us to expect the food. Called the restaurant and was greeted by a nasty woman who told me they do not deliver. After further unhelpful conversation she said they outsource to DoorDash for delivery. They could not provide and kind of delivery time and the ONLY option was to canvek the order. We waited over 1 1/2 hours and all we got was no food and a lousy response to the woman we talked to on the phone. Now I understand why this Panera had been slated for closure. I visited this location on a Monday afternoon for lunch. The establishment was nice and clean. I did notice they did not have the kiosks like other locations so you do have to go to the register to place your order. Or, you can use your mobile app. Everything was great. An Absolute Disaster -- This Panera Needs a Full Shutdown If you enjoy cold, underwhelming food served by a team starring in their own workplace soap opera, this location is for you. The food? Embarrassing. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt and was greeted by three lonely scraps of chicken hiding inside. THREE. I didn't know I ordered the "diet version." The coffee tasted like burnt regret, and the mac & cheese looked like it was nuked in a microwave and stirred with a broom. Bonus surprise: a mystery hair inside. Yum. Now onto the true horror: the management. Juan (the "manager") acts like he's running Hell's Kitchen, except the only thing on fire is the morale. He's loud, rude, and openly humiliates employees instead of supporting them. It's unprofessional and hard to watch. And then there's Salma -- the self-appointed assistant manager, aka the gossip queen. She seems more interested in spying on coworkers and whispering like she's in a spy movie than actually doing her job. It's giving mean girl energy with a headset. This place is a toxic mess. DIRTY. This Panera was amazing when it first opened in Olney years ago. Now it is dirty and depressing. After getting our food, we walked to 4 different tables to find one that was clean. This is the new norm. The wall of our booth was stained and splattered with old food. The portions have been shunk, not a lot of chicken salad on my sandwich. Ok, it would be a 3 or so - typical Panera - except this location has the ABSOLUTE LOUDEST restaurant kitchen I have ever heard. By a very great measure. I'm all the way across the restaurant, sipping my chai, and I'm regularly startled to the point of my pulse beginning to race, because there's one woman back there who regularly, abruptly shrieks, at the top of her lungs, something unintelligible in Spanish - often the name "Maria," but I can't make out the rest ... and most of the other folks there respond. It can't possibly be necessary to be so loud that the entire restaurant is disturbed by it, surely. Seriously - in the 2 or 3 minutes I've been typing this review, she's done it at least a dozen times. It's incredibly disruptive. Otherwise it's an ordinary Panera. Clean, with brisk service. But if you want a quiet coffee or relaxed conversation ... go elsewhere. read more

This franchise is known for their bakery and sandwiches. Their Mac&Cheese is amazing...there's definitely a lot of cream and butter in it but it's addicting. They offer a lot of light/healthy options. I often get their 1/2 soup or salad with 1/2 sandwich for about $10. No complaints its a typical Panera Bread. The food was average which is too be expected and the order came out pretty quick.

Staff are not friendly, but not rude, either. I ate indoors, and my food looked like it was just slapped together. I found it hard to communicate with the person who took my order, because she didn't know the menu and couldn't answer my questions. I've had delivery from the Olney location many times...and it's rare if there isn't something wrong with the order; either an item missing or incorrect. Yesterday I ordered the new Rustic Baked Potato Soup....Not good at all. Completely watered down with very little substance to it. Should've just popped open a can a soup of that would've been much better and cheaper! The tuna sandwich was actually quite good...but hard to mess up really. I like this Panera. They have nice outdoor seating--some umbrella tables for four and some tables for two along the front. They are following Covid protocols. The people waiting in line inside were social distancing. I am doing Weight Watchers and I found they had some good lunch choices in terms of soups. The 10 Vegetable soup was very good (I ordered a bowl). It comes with a half baguette. It was a gorgeous sunny day. read more

Panera Bread in Olney has really gone downhill (and may be at the bottom). The lines are almost always out the door. They screw up every other order. No wonder! Everybody who works there quits after a week. So, they always have new trainees trying to figure out what to do. The food quality has also declined significantly, which surprisingly goes counter to their "Mission Statement" that promises healthy ingredients. Hard to do if you keep using food additives and pre-packaged items. I've noticed several of their locations in Maryland have closed recently. Maybe something better will open when Panera closes the Olney store. read more

Been patronizing this location sporadically since it opened. Used to have loaves of sourdough bread that I could request thick sliced. So good toasted! First turn off: big curly black beard hair laying in the center of my potato soup right on top. Took it back to server at pick up counter & got a new bowl but lost my appetite. No beard covers/nets required? Second issue: pick up/order ahead is hit or miss as far as contents. Just ordered delivery last night. Everything was stone cold & order was way late. But quality of food had little to do with late arrival. Baguette was weapon-grade hard. Flat bread pizza was like eating a salt lick - inedible. Had to throw away. Kids grilled cheese was not grilled but was semi-toasted bread. Tomato soup & Mac & cheese were ok but that was eaten by my partner. I wound up prying open baguette & eating center. Lastly, I was clobbered on the head & back by a closed umbrella that blew over on top of me as I was walking into the place. Hurt me for days. Staff wasn't around when it happened & I had to stand there with the projected end stabbing me until staff could take it off of me. I get no luck with this place. read more

Staff who work where food is plated & served are unbearably loud. They stay at maximum only ten feet from one another yet talk so loudly that their voices invade the entire seating areas. They have no sense of atmosphere. I dont know if they were using drugs or why they were so elated, laughing, and screaming. This isn't their personal amusement park. They scream out names for pickup obnoxiously and loudly. Everything is conveyed at same volume. There was no management correction when requested. Not fun, just inelegant. When I knocked in the counter to get their attention to request a container to be able to pack my food and leave, they continued bantering so loudly and couldn't hear either my voice or my knocking. I usually stop at this Panera on Sunday mornings before going to the Olney Farmers Market. On my last visit I just ordered coffee to go The counter person took my order but handed me the cup with two fingers gripping the inside of the cup. I noticed it immediately but didn't mention it to the manager because it was very busy at that time. I poured the hot water from the coffee bar to wash out the cup. I am writing this so the manager will bring it to the attention of the people staffing the front counter. I don't think it was an intentional move, but it did freak me out a bit. read more

Horrible. I specifically asked the cashier for no cheese on my chipotle avocado melt. Why was there an absurd amount of cheese? I picked the cheese off as best I could and finally started to eat. Then I spit it out. Explain to me why my chicken was pink? Horrible. Went to Panera to pick up breakfast for the first time. My boyfriend got the Chipotle Chicken, Scrambled Egg & Avocado wrap. He took one bite, and spit it out. He then threw up because it tasted so bad. I got a plain bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel was not toasted, even though I asked for it to be toasted. I have hit or miss experiences with this Panera. If I am eating at the restaurant everything is good. The service is fast and my order is correct. If I order rapid takeout (most of my orders) everything is not so good. Most of the time they either forget about my order or are waiting on something. Not to mention the order is almost never correct. The people who work here are very polite and always make the corrections. The one consistency is that the food is always good. The outside tables are a nice option at this location. In the summer there is live music and a water feature for kids to play in. TIPS: This is one of the worst parking lots in Montgomery County. Park over at the grocery store and walk or you will be circling forever. Also if you can get a table on a nice day take it, you will be glad that you did! read more

I spend all my babysitting money here. After frequenting this Panera eight times in the last month (dropping between $20-30 each visit), I can now form my All-Star dream team of Olney Panera employees. If I could visit this Panera on a perfect day, I would like to have Holly, Leah, and Emily as the three cashiers because they embody incredible customer service in addition to smartness. They also smile a lot, and that makes me smile. Winner is the honorable mention because he's cool, too. Izzy would be the barista and bread baker. Dustin, Mark, and Steven would be on the All-Star team for making the sandwiches and salads in the back because they are the hardest-working and think my friend and I are awesome customers (which we are). Karim is the honorable mention because there are only three employees who make the first team. These guys deserve a tip box for how amazing their sandwich creations taste so I made them a tip cup and put in $15. It is disgraceful that Panera forbids tip boxes for the employees when they make minimum wage. Franklin and Morgan are the best employees for keeping the Panera fresh and clean on the inside and out. And the manager who makes the All-Star team is Christie. She welcomes us with open arms every time we pop in for our 2 hours of debauchery. The only pastries that are worth ordering here are the chocolate croissant, cinnamon scone, coffee cake, brownie, chocolate chip cookie, flower cookie and pumpkin muffie. Everything else in the pastry department tastes bad. This includes the bear claw, blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll, chocolate walnut cookie, and carrot cake muffin. I recommend either the tomato mozzarella panini or the mediterranean veggie sandwich because they are vegetarian. You can substitute any type of bread into a sandwich. Also, you can order a cookie as the side (as opposed to an apple, baguette, or chips) when ordering a sandwich or salad for an additional one dollar. In that case, I'd recommend the flower cookie. You can find us here on Saturday and Sunday nights until closing. Panera isn't too busy at night, and the food still tastes pretty good. I feel like I'm part of the family. read more
