Panera's in Olney has a problem. They screw up orders. Frequently. Not the little kind, but the major ones, teh screw-ups that make you drive back to the place and you need a PowerPoint presentation to explain it to them. I like the food, sort of, but I'm from CA, and I have a teeny ounce of eco-ethos in me, and Panera's must contribute more to the waste land-fill than a lot of other places. Panera's is not cheap, and the food is meh, but it's everywhere. And I've never been sick from their food. read more

had kept gift cards associated with my Panera Bread account. I don't go there that frequently, but between my children and I, we had accumulated almost $200 on various cards. I went to Panera in Walpole on 10/29 and when I looked at the activity on my account, I noticed that I had no gift card money and there were three orders totaling $192 going to the same address in Olney, MD. I contacted customer service, who offered me "possibly $75" based on it getting approved by a supervisor and that they would get back to me within a 3 - 5 business days. A week passed and I got no contact whatsoever. I called again, and I was told it was to be going to have to be forwarded to the district office and they would get back to me. Finally Jason Smith from the district office (Lemek LLC DBA/Panera Bread) did get back to me a month later and needed a copy of the gift cards as well copies of the orders, which I provided to him. After another month, he finally got back to me and told me that I was out of luck because of all the time that had passed, but did copy another person (Evan) on the email so I could get the $6 remaining that is now on a frozen gift card. He said that if I called customer service that they "may give you the original $75 that they offered you". I have tried calling Evan, with no response. No one at customer service cares. I just wish that someone cared enough to help me get my money on my gift cards back. read more

I use to love Panera so much, but their new menu is killing my love. Before the menu change you could see the ingredients for each sandwich. Now it's just the title, I don't have all the sandwiches memorized. It would be nice to know again what each sandwich had. I love their sandwiches, but lately their size proportions have gone down. I always get the u pick 2, but the 1/2 sandwiches now are tiny. I'm small and if I'm still hungry, I can't imagine how it is for everyone else. I got the chipotle chicken and broccoli cheddar soup with bread. The sandwich was really greasy and the flavor was lighter than it use to be. I had to dip it in the soup a lot. The soup as always was delectable. And I always ask for a pickle on the side, a must for me. Their prices have also increased. Solid place to work- I appreciate the large number of computer outlets! Usually on the chilly side and can get busy during peak hours. If I could do zero stars I would! This Panera's employees are one of the best around. I have had no problems with this panera until a woman name Christie came in and ruined all of my experiences. I see the poor employees working their tooshies off in the kitchen. There's long lines. And I'm witnessing this so called manager Christie out in the dinning room sitting with customers/ friends. Whoever they are. It is sickening and upsetting. I feel bad for all of those workers that have to deal with her. She needs to be fired or retrained because this is ridiculous. Lazy management. This place has the est foods , menus , and deserts that will Tempt your taste buds . This place is family oriented , friendly and more . It has a huge lounge areas with a holographic gas fire place in middle of the store to keep warm and show effect. I've been here only once, so I'll update my review if my experience next time drastically differs. With that said, a friend of mine from high school and I decided to come here to catch up and have a bite and drink to eat. I ordered a tea and the cup they gave me was dirty at the bottom, and the hot water pitcher was empty. When I told them about it, they gave me a look and gave me a new cup, and instead of replacing the hot water pitcher, they told me that I needed to ask the woman behind the counter making food to fill up my cup. So I did, and she clearly was bothered. The interior is very, very spacious. However, this place is also riddled with obnoxious 12-16-year-olds. read more

Just visited this.location. Had a reward for 2 dollars off sandwich and was told this does not apply to breakfast sandwiches. Nowhere on the reward itself is this exclusion made. First it took about 4 minutes for the manager to come to the front. Then she proceded to tell me they have "no control" over the rewards. Not my problem. Also 2 employees argued with me that this was "obviously" only for non breakfast sandwiches (it wasnt). The food was good as.usual but what happened to the customer is always right (esp when supported by the facts). They did give me.the discount but only after a 10 minute delay. read more

Let me start off by saying that some of those reviews must be a one time bad experience. I have always gone to this Panera whether it be for myself or picked up food to go and I have never really had a problem. I do the rapid pick up for a lot of us at work. That way it is easier and I have yet to have any confusion or things missing. Drinks are made fresh and aren't sloppy or melted by the time I pick them up. The food is amazing depends what you get. Sandwiches might I recommend a chicken frontega panini and the new southwest chile lime ranch w/ chicken salad is the bomb!! Cookies in the bakery section are fresh and salads are delightful and I always getting enough dressings as some places tend to skimp on the dressing to go. The occasional lunch line you will find depending what time you around noon but that is to be expected. Only reason I give this place 4 stars is due to the parking which sometimes can be difficult to find. Other than that, staff are friendly and very polite in general. Hope the next time someone goes, they have a good experience as well!! read more

Amazing soup, amazing food, amazing service... the prices are high for the portions, but you just spend a little more and everything is good. broccoli cheddar soup is the best, chips are a must and the lemon cookies are superb. nothing of note in anything else, but the chicken sandwiches are the way to go. read more

Horrible customer service experience this morning. Ordered the steel cut oatmeal with quinoa and it had a hair in it. I went to the kitchen staff to bring it to their attention and the woman responded "sorry about that" and turned around and continued to do her work. My parents live in Olney so I've been here a handful of times. Honestly, this is just average as far as Panera goes. There have been times when the food is just right and delicious, like last Saturday when my husband and I stopped in for lunch. We got the Roasted Turkey Artichoke Panini and the Turkey Apple Cheddar panini and split them. They were perfect. Then there are other times (like the time before that) when my dad had to send his food back. He got the Smokehouse Turkey panini that had been smushed by the press, but not at all grilled. There was a tiny piece of bacon on it and the lettuce and tomato were sparse, at best. Overall, it was a mess. When I took his panini over to the counter and asked for them to remake it, they looked at me quizzically and asked, "Why?" Umm..."would you pay $7 for a panini that looked like this?" We like to bring our dogs with us whenever we go out, so it's great that this place has so much outdoor seating. Oh, and the employees are always very friendly (maybe a little too friendly, especially with one another--last weekend two employees shamelessly flirted with one another right behind the register while I was attempting to place my order, gag) and seem competent. Since it's convenient to my parents' house and one of the only places in Olney that doesn't serve Mexican food, I'm sure we'll be back. read more

FYI to all. This location knocks you off of the wifi. Other locations don't. And this is my second time there and second time it's happened.

I've found all the locations about the same, generally clean with a comfortable dining area and food that is between a fast food joint and a sit down restaurant. I've had soup that was at and below temperature and good sandwiches and some with dried up cheese on them. The bread had been consistent. These are ok and a better choice than fast food. I think they use healthier ingredients but this could be perception. read more

Asian Sesame salad is my go-to order at all Paneras. It is delicious. But I went to this Panera on Monday and the salad was awful, tasteless-- just lettuce, a little of what looked like sliced deli chicken, little dressing. Nothing like the delicious salad I'm used to getting. I complained to someone behind the counter who was not very concerned about my complaint, didn't offer to exchange salad for something else, just gave me a small plastic container of dressing to add to it. Here on a soccer weekend when food systems and service are stressed. Ood was good but service showed signs of stress on systems. But, girls soccer team enjoyed and having access to wifi was great. Great customer service! Easy to order online and pick up curbside. When I got home I noticed a couple of things were missing so I called them. They were super nice and said that I could come back and get the missing items.. I called when I arrived and they brought it to my car - plus cookies. :-). So easy and the food was good. Love this Panera! We order dinner here at least 1x a week and my husband picks it up at the Rapid Pick-Up counter... best idea ever. We love their salads and sandwiches, I've never had a bad meal. Green juice smoothie is also yum and their breakfasts are super delicious. Staff is awesome, especially the manager. I walked inside looking to try something new as I don't visit Panera that much and the two young girls at the counter started talking to each other and stated "the menu doesn't change it's the same everyday" thinking i couldn't hear them. After that comment I refused to purchase anything. They had terrible customer service and are getting paid to take people's orders. Went in for quick bite at lunch today. Wasn't quick. Wait time was incredible. Not the first time this has happened in Olney.

My mom went to this location to get some soup I waited in the car for her. She needed soup since she is trying to fight a cold. I suggested Panera's brocolli cheddar soup since it is so good. So we are in olney at the time so we go to the Panera over here. She ordered her soup and then she sees the cashier talking to two young ladies. Flirting with them. She waits 15 mins before she ask the cashier where her order is. He flirted and talked with them the whole time and then ask my mom what she is waiting for. She says my soup. and he says soup?? And look around and grabs I off the counter. It was ready for her the whole time.... clearly she was too upset to complain to the manager so she told me about it. I've gone to the Panera in Olney many times and it consistently hasn't been as good as other Paneras I've been to. Today, I ordered the tomato and mozzarella flatbread, which I've gotten before in Baltimore, but this time, there was little on the flatbread. Each 1/2 had one tiny slice of tomato, a dollop of mozzarella the size of a quarter and some pesto with mostly arugula on the sandwich- very disappointing! I was with a friend and didn't want to wait to order something else so I didn't complain- but I should have. Someone there asked me what I ordered because it looked good. I'm a regular at this Panera location in Olney and the food is generally good there, even though the service is either a hit or miss. But today was probably the worst I've ever experienced. Earlier this morning, at 8:30am, I finished breakfast with my mother and as we were walking out, my mother slipped and fell very hard. The floor next to the trashcan was wet. She fell so hard that her coffee spilled all over her clothes and her hair. Not ONE Panera employee came out to see if she was ok or even asked if everything was alright. There were no customers in line and all the employees just stood in the back watching us. As soon as I helped my mom get up and wiped the coffee off her clothes/face, this young lady (employee) walks over, drops the sign which says "the floor is slippery," and walks away. I mean, really? Panera's food aint' the greatest (or the worst) but they let you sit for hours working and sipping coffee. Free WiFi too! I'd probably give it 2-stars if it weren't for their attitude towards lingering customers and their super nice employees (Olney location). It's my go-to place if i want to get out of the house but still get some work done. Power sandwich for breakfast is decent. The soups and salads are pretty good too (tomato is my favorite). Try the roast beef sandwich with horseradish on the cheese bread. Not for the carb-fearful but delicious. read more

I want to say that Brian made my day today. I had ordered my food through the app as I usually do and was so sure that it was at the Olney Towne Ctr. I had taken one hour out for my lunch, so I was in a hurry. By the time I ran my errands, an email came in that my food was ready for pickup. I made a mad dash in but could not find my lunch at the Pick up stand. I went to ask someone for my food and immediately Brian, who was at the Cash Register asked for my name. I gave it to him and he went to the kitchen area. I could tell by the way he was pacing up and down that something was wrong. He came back to me and said they did not have my order. I was puzzled. I told him I could get my phone because an email told me that my food was ready. Brian met me outside as I went to my van to get my phone. I showed him the email. He looked at it. My order had been placed at the last Panera location that I had ordered food from--In Gaithersburg! I did not have too much time left before I would have to see my next client (work). Brian said, "Don't worry. I'll get it for you!" He made sure that he fixed it and had it ready for me in minutes. I couldn't imagine going all the way to Gaithersburg to get this food and then getting back to work on time. He saved the day. I have never had any problems at this location and having Brian working there makes it all the more worth it to keep going there. He later told me that he called the Gaithersburg location and took care of it. 5 stars all the way! read more
