Opened by Christian Rath in September 2023, it features dishes learned from his long career in food service. Spargel is the German word for Asparagus. This is a comprehensive tour of authentic German cusines from many regions of Germany. Just explore the menu options on the website. We started with a variety of Paulaner draft beers at the bar with the knowledgeable, Beau. Our server at our table was Kelly L. She was very helpful explaining the different dishes and provided excellent service. We started with two of their famous suppe (soup) - Spargelcremesuppe - gream of asparagus w/ garlic croutons ($8.50) and the most popular seasonal Cream of Yellow Chatrelle Mushroom Suppe w/ bacon & onion ($15.50). Unique to us and delicious. There were two servers on for the evening covering and they seemed overwhelmed by the rush which was not our experience before. While the food wait was expected it did take a considerable amount of time to get out drink order taken and then to have it arrive. In between ordering and getting our drinks I noted out server taking care of 2 other tables bringing out food and drinks. It took about half an hour for the bread to arrive at the table.
