Absolute most inefficient Panera I've been to. Employees move like snails, Rapid Pick up orders are never placed on the shelf like they should be, and there have been numerous occasions where there will be multiple people in line and no one working the registers for a period of time. I recently ordered an iced coffee...that's it, just an iced coffee, and apparently that was too much work for the employee (Jocelyn) to pour for me, telling me I had to wait while other people's food orders were placed since putting ice and coffee into a cup was too much work. read more

Always been a fan of this place since it opened, but I've forgotten to write a review! Definitely a good place to study if you're a student and tired of going to the library, Starbucks, or just need to get away from home. Plenty of seats available, outlets for everyone (even underneath the cushioned seating) and it's conveniently located next to other stores if you needed to take care of shopping. The music isn't too loud, so if you're easily bothered by other noises, bring headphones. Parking isn't too bad either! And the pastries and drinks are tasty! Service is great. read more

There was no pizza sauce and they never told us along with 4 to 5 other people in advance and because some people paid, like me, paid through their tablets or other electronic devices, we have to call customer service for a refund, and if they put a sign or told people or anything this could have been avoided. Great service. I'm not going to rate Panera's food in general because it's the same thing at any location you go to. Solid menu with decent choices and decent prices, but in my opinion like many other large corporate chains, nothing that will particularly wow you but nothing that will be bad either. The main reason I wanted to write this review is that this Panera has particularly good service. We came sometime near closing, which I know is in general frowned upon but we had been driving all day and Panera was one of the only places we could find that was still open. Having worked in food service before, I know what a pain in the a it is to have people come in right before closing, but the Panera staff were incredibly welcoming even at that hour. Even as we got our food and apologized for coming in so late, the staff told us we didn't have to rush and to take our time, and they were very friendly and genuine when they told us this. As such, we really appreciate the great service at this location and commend the Panera staff. read more

I have been to this Panera a couple of times. Service I have received is terrible. This last visit, I ordered To go. I had to wait 20 minutes for my order. The food prep station was talking badly about the other staff members. My food was poorly prepared. I ordered a Mediterranean veggie sandwich and It had meat on It. For a sandwich and salad i waited 45 minutes and received a piece of bread with no meat. I should have ordered a baguette. This was the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. I was in Monterey area for a few months on biz, started coming here in mornings for coffe, breakfast sandwich & to catch up on email/puter work...place seemingly let's college kids study on their indoor tables without buying product so I figured must not be uptight, seemed relaxed... Pattern begins... half the mornings the sandwich comes out cold, served by some phony disingenuous gloomy bratty female asking if I need anything else (seemed facetious?) but I'm in headphone land so I pause, pull headphones down, always smile, say thank you as I acknowledge their service with gratitude..(Ive hustled tables, bar tended in my 20s I know the trenches of the food biz) Then after Christmas it happens, assistant manager delivers my typically long overdue, awaited sandwich...sets it down backing away asking if I need anything? (She was literally walking backwards LOL???) So I touched the sandwich which is cold cold cold, and there's no egg this time??? All the spinach, red onions there but no egg on the cold sandwich??? Enough I thought, I took it to food runners window and tossed it up on the outbound food counter eyeballing the incompantant staff "cold and couldn't even remebe to put the egg on it???" "I want it ight, hot please" I went back to table, sat down... Cook comes to table with sandwich asking "do you want me to just put an egg on this?" I reply "recipe calls for the sandwich to be served hot, no?" Cook walks away unphazed, like she doesn't understand this or as I suspect, doesn't care... 4 min later cook brings out sandwich which would've impressed regional manger I'm sure... Never did see gloomy assistant manager (whom I'll assume assend d to this by her sleazy behaviors?) which usually when food is sent back, a asst manager will meet with customer to reassure the customer the product will be right, but this asset manager not only didn't, she was the villain in the offense (sabotaging a customers food?) I've went in once for coffee since, and gloomy asst manager shot me he "I'm gonna get you" look??? I see this toxic dysfunctional problem at this Panera brand as a store more of a corp & regional manager problem as they've let this attitude prevail, local political climate after the Kate Stienle case makes this demography of these food workers think they can behave however they want towards caucassions and there will be no consequences...or that is what sanctuary state status implies... read more

Very disappointed. Until last December I had never stepped foot into a Panera Bread shop. I went there looking for gift cards as stocking stuffers for Christmas. I bought 50 dollars worth and was given a 10 dollar card as a bonus for buying the 50. I was told I couldn't use the 10 dollar card until the 2nd. So today the 26th I went there to get a little breakfast and the damned card didn't work. Not only did I have to wait until the 2nd to use it. Apparently I only had until the 22nd to use it. Which at the time of purchase was not pointed out to me. Never again Panera Bread. Just for the record I still paid for the soufflé I ordered but gave it away to first person I saw. I HATE this place. Overpriced "organic" small portioned wannabe trendy food. I always have left here hungry. My best friend who lives in Socal however, loves this place, and always wonders why I don't. It's just not worth the money in my opinion, and I love healthy organic food just as much as the next person, but I'll spend my money at Whole Foods for a salad and a sandwich before I ever come back to this place. It's not just my personal experience here, it's my company's. We have ordered catering three times from here and they ALWAYS mess up and forget something. And guess who's head rolls because of THEIR mistakes?? You guessed it. MINE. And here's the thing, the manager is never apologetic ever, they never ever make it right. Maybe an apology and a refund on what didn't get delivered would be appropriate, but no, they don't seem to care. Point being, our company will order catering elsewhere, sucks for them because we cater lunches A LOT for multiple meetings every week. And not to mention, before you guys showed up, parking was a cinch for ULTA. Now it's really hard and oftentimes my boyfriend drops me off so he can go off and find parking. Just leave Panera. This isn't the first time we've visited this Panera location and have been disappointed. The food quality is pretty bad. Today we ordered a group serving of the chicken noodle soup. The soup looked like it had been sitting for days. The broth was dark and looked burnt like it was sitting in a pot cooking for days. The noodles were dark brown and all the chicken was too. I know it's just a Panera, but I was blown away by the service provided at the counter. The menu is a little overwhelming, so as we stood sort of dumbstruck in front of the register, the guy (ok, he was the manager) offered all sorts of helpful hints and suggestions. I was avoiding low-quality carbs (hard to do at a bakery, bread & sandwich shop), so he customized a salad (and I don't typically love salads) that turned out to be fabulous and filling. I haven't been to Panera Bread for about a year. I went in today and was shocked at how the restaurant has gone down. There were dirty dishes EVERYWHERE. I decided to use the woman's restroom first and it was also dirty. No paper toilet covers, toilet paper on the floor sticking to my shoe and the toilet was broken and wouldn't flush. Dropped in for lunch with my wife, the lunch line moved at a respectable pace. Straight forward menu so the ordering was quick and simple. Grabbed our drinks found a table and a few minutes later our food arrived hot and neatly made. Our soup, salad and sandwiches were good. They weren't over the top different than any other chain lunch stop. It was clean, help was pleasant and the food was fresh, all that was expected. So why not a five star review?
