We've tried to give this Panera a chance a few times now. Every time we've ordered it's as if someone threw our sandwiches in the bag from across the room. I've never been to another Panera that cone across as messy and care less. They mess up our orders frequently and leave out a food item almost every time. I came here to study last night and it was a decent Panera experience. There was a lot of seating and I grabbed a cozy spot next to their fireplace. There aren't too many easy places to find plugs unless you're next to a wall and the single tables are a bit small for spreading out study material (especially for two people) but we made it work. I did notice that the tables weren't cleaned very quickly after patrons left and I had to clean off my own table before I sat down. I ordered the autumn squash bread bowl and I really enjoyed it! I usually do the creamy tomato in a bread bowl, but I had to try this fall/winter flavor (maybe it's not seasonal, but it definitely screamed seasonal to me). The soup was creamy, sweet, and had pumpkin seeds on top. Oh and it was nestled in a crusty/pillowy bread bowl - the epitome of comfort food! I couldn't stop myself from gobbling it up! All in all, I would definitely come back here if I wanted to really hunker down and study for a whole evening. I've tried to give this place chance after chance but I continue to be disappointed. I order the exact same thing every time I come. Every time it's delivered to me, the sandwich is cold in the inside and my extra chipotle mayo is missing. So I started writing on the self order kiosk "please cook extra long" under the additional notes section. Still received cold sandwiches. So then I started writing "please cook twice as long, middle is always cold." I still recieved cold sandwiches. Today's visit I waited longer than anyone else and saw people that came in after me getting all their food before me, and I'm talking about 10 people. So I finally went up to ask about it and the cook says shes cooking it extra long. I was excited my sandwich finally would be warm. Well it was but my chips and extra mayo were missing. Here's the problem: you charge almost $14 for a sandwich and drink and cannot make it to order. Second, when I bring back my cold sandwiches I get annoyed looks as if I'm being picky. I love that they have a drive through as the weather is really crappy and not feeling like getting out of my car. The portion size here seems bigger than the store I visited in dfw a few days ago. This particular Panera messes up my order every single time. I normally don't leave reviews because I just deal with it but tonight they were out of baguettes and I asked for a substitution of some type of bread and apparently they were out of every single bread type. NO bread at Panera bread. Then get home and the part of my order that they did have, was not correct. Ordered the turkey bacon bravo on ciabatta warm, no lettuce or tomato. Definitely have ancho sauce of some sort and cold sandwich. Also if they have no bread, how did we have bread for our sandwiches? The last few times I have ordered from this restaurant I have noticed the people making the food look and dress sloppily and make the food the same way. On my visit this time, there were two people making my sandwich, a greasy-haired multiple- nose-ringed girl wearing an old dirty-looking knitted hat and an equally unkempt boy who only wore one glove. They did lots of chatting about their personal lives as they slapped my sandwich together. The sandwich filling was barely there and it was more like a tomato and lettuce sandwich. I get the feeling that there are either no managers taking care of the store or they just don't care. This is not the first time I've noticed how poorly run the store is. Just so you know, I'm not a big Panera Bread fan to begin with, so there you have my bias up front. This Panera disappointed on multiple occasions. I would virtually never visit of my own volition, but my wife likes it. The service and decor is more or less like any other Panera, nothing major to say there. I've ordered multiple different paninis there and they were always pretty bad. What really made me give this place one star is the french onion soup. Maybe it's not always like this, but when I tried it it was awful. It didn't taste right. It didn't taste good. I ate about half of it and put it aside. Well, half was too much. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick and I threw up. Then I woke up about once an hour and continued throwing up. The next morning I had to go take a test for work, so I threw up before I left, threw up in the bathroom at the testing center, and then threw up again after the test, then I went home and continued throwing up and feeling sick for another 24 hours or so. This is the first Panera I tried. I remember it was in the afternoon and I haven't eaten, so I walked into the second closest building. The nearest being Panda Express, and we all know nobody wants that fake chinese. After I got in I realized I had been here once during orientation. By then somebody orders a bread bowl. It is not on the menu, and this potato soup in a bread bowl is still my favorite.Another dish I love is tontine Alfredo. My friend once ordered this by mistake and she hated it, but I fell in love with it. This is a nice place to have a quiet afternoon by yourself. We are here eating lunch and when our food was delivered to our table the server notices that the cooks may have made a mistake. She took it back to the window and the cook proceeded to cuss at her and call her names. This woman was looking out for her customer and the cook was an asshole to her! If I thought she would not get yelled at, I would take the plate back to him and tell him where he could stick it! He is the most ignorant person i have come across in a good while. It's a Chain restaurant but I had a friend that had never had a bread bowl so I took her there. The service was decent but must have been rush hour even though lunch hour was gone. Once food was delivered it turned out to be very good soups. I mean problem is they are relatively expensive and bread and soup does not fill me up. This location is amazing! The service was great and the food was good! I ordered through the iPads which are very simple to use especially if the normal line is long. If you are not familiar with how this works, you log into the iPad with your rewards or simply use it in the guest mode. You look through the menu and are able to customize whatever item you are wanting. After, you simply pay for it but you can only use a card or gift cards. I visited the Panera Bread today for lunch, did the pick 2 with Southwest Chile Salad and the Steak Cheddar Panini. The salad was good, the sandwich was not. Sandwich had about three pieces of meat, a few onions thrown on and I could not find any horseradish. I don't eat here often. The wait in the drive thru was about 15 or more minutes. We were on our lunch break so we had to rush back and eat. I found a hair in my turkey, avocado blt sandwich. The avocado was turning brown and sandwich had no flavor. I got the Cobb salad which the avocado was brown in it and dressing was horrible. We stopped by here on the way back from Durant Oklahoma. I had never had Panera but the girlfriend insisted that it was great. I was expecting just another sandwich shop. Sandra the nice lady taking my order was very obnoxious and had a very bad attitude to my friend and this is his first time here. Also my first time here and she was very rude to me when I asked what was on a sand which Sandra needs a serious attitude check if the owner wants my business again. While the food is delicious, it is highly over priced. A bagel with cream cheese will run you 5$ unless you have the handy Austin College Discount. The wifi is good and the inside is normally fine for studying. Don't let the drive through fool you, this is not fast food. I want to say today I'm amazed at the people serving there tonight. We overstayed thirty min after ten and nobody told us to leave, they were really nice to us when we left and no attitude at all. My complaint is with multiple things. First of all the portion size. If you are a small eater like me and you leave hungry, not good. And this is consistent. Seondly the price...... OMG. When you can get an "all you can eat delicious soup and salad at Olive Garden for $5.99..... there is NO REASON at all to go to Panera. The third and most important complaint I have is with their complaint to serve "CLEAN FOOD". Since I eat mainly organic & NON FOOD, I was so excited to think I had another choice. SO I ASKED the wait staff to explain to me what "CLEAN FOOD" meant. They were unable to tell me. SOOO I did some research to find out. Turns out that they are being "SUED" for their claim of serving "CLEAN FOOD"...... it's not NON-GMO nor is it organic. They are being sued for decieving the public.... I get it because I was decieved. So disappointed because their food really is pretty good, they are just stingy with portions, the price is too high & the food isn't any more clean than anyone else's food. I'll go somewhere else.
