    Chipotle Chicken Avo Melt

The absolute worst Panera I've ever been to. It was at least 3 hours before they closed and they were out of damn near everything on the menu. I ordered a chipotle chicken avocado melt. I will attach wtf these brain dead mfs gave me. Honestly, I think the image speaks for itself. There was nobody else in the restaurant and we waited for about 25 minutes for this. They are truthfully lucky I didn't open up the sandwich until I got home and I didn't have the energy to drive 10 minutes back to the Panera.

    Apple

Stay away from this Panera I've always had issues with them. They're quality control for food is really bad and there's always issues with the fruit and apples. Panera has really gone downhill over the years. I always get this sandwich and didn't even assemble it right. The turkey on it is literally turkey that you could buy in the supermarket deli area and they just slap it together no care at all when preparing your food, the dressings that I got for my salad not even full so pretty much got half a serving of dressing. They also took a Gouda off the menu if you're looking for a quick lunch salad and sandwich I'd probably go somewhere else because the quality is really bad here.

Service was ok. Not too many choices for gluten-free allergy but the salad was pretty good.

The gist: The food is Italian with French touches, so the menu has a lot of Italian classics, but the fusion creates wonderful dish variations unlike anything you've tried before. And the best part is that the food exceeds any expectations you might have from the descriptions. It's not some cheaply done mish-mash of cultures, but rather a thoughtful and nuanced blend. I'm also impressed particularly that the menu has multiple dish variations for both tuna and salmon, respectively, instead of having the basic and obligatory "the Tuna" or "the Salmon" dishes that a menu often requires. The food: First of all, their house made bread is incredible. Be careful, you might fill up on it, it's practically a delicious appetizer in its own right. We started with the calamari and fried zucchini. I never eat calamari because it is often bland or chewy, or both. It always feels like a vehicle for the and sauce. But this is the first time I couldn't stop myself from eating it. The rings are thin, yet filled with meat and instantly melt in your mouth. It's a texture I've never experienced with calamari before and it is a must try at this restaurant. The fried zucchini is also such an impossibly light and delicate favorite, and the additional truffle flavor adds some wonderful earthiness to it. The portion is also huge and we couldn't stop shoveling these onto your plate. We also had complimentary burrata as it was our first visit and of course it was as perfect as you'd expect. For my main dish I had the duck a l'orange, which was cooked to the perfect temp and oh so crispy on the outside. The plate was beautiful, and the butternut squash and sauce just complemented the duck excellently. I also tried someone's vodka chicken parm, which I know sounds like a generic dish at an Italian restaurant, but this was the thinnest, crispiest, and largest pieces of chicken I've ever had. Trust me you've never had a crunch like this on your chicken parm anywhere on the island before. And the sauce was so good I wish I saved some bread for the meal! The desserts were also lovely and made in-house, with the panna cotta being a remarkable highlight. And don't forget the cocktails; they're all thoughtfully crafted and everyone at the table was blown away by the combinations. We didn't experience a single menu item that was just "fine". Everything excels, and the owners are friendly and passionate about their food. They told us we would love everything, which most people usually say about their food, but they truly mean it here. They were excited to see us enjoy our food so much and you can feel the love in their food. Go here, it's incredible.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people talking over my food, and that is exactly what happened. While my bowl was being assembled, I added a few items that came with an upcharge. The employee making my bowl informed me of the extra cost, which I understood completely--I've been to Cava many times and know how it works. However, as she repeatedly explained the upcharge, she was talking directly over my food and visibly spitting while speaking, which made me extremely uncomfortable. When I tried to reassure her that I understood and that it wasn't necessary to keep repeating it, her coworker jumped in saying it was "company policy" to ask. I told them that was fine and that I would pay whatever the cost was, but asked that they stop repeating it. Instead of de-escalating, both employees began laughing and smirking, which felt very unprofessional. I calmly explained that I don't like people talking over my food. Their response was sarcastic and dismissive, which eventually led to me raising my voice out of frustration. When it came time to add dressing, the employee intentionally drowned my bowl in dressing to the point where it was completely soggy and inedible--it honestly felt like retaliation. I asked if they would eat something prepared that way, and only then did the manager step in. Thankfully, the manager handled the situation professionally and remade my bowl, which I truly appreciated. I own a franchise myself, and proper food service practices and basic respect for customers are non-negotiable. Talking over food, laughing at customers, and acting spitefully has no place in a restaurant. The manager handled the situation appropriately, but the behavior of the front-line staff was unacceptable and needs to be addressed.
