Really disappointed this evening 09/29/19 at Panera. I went through the drive through and ordered a iced tea unsweetened. When I tasted it, it was very bitter and I noticed it was very cloudy looking. So I told the window guy it was bitter and cloudy. He said "well that's our unsweetened tea" I informed him that I come there a lot and have never experienced that before. SO IM HOPING SOMEONE FROM THERE WILL SEE THIS! If the tea is cloudy and bitter it's been sitting to long and probably old and some fresh needs to be made. I enjoy coming here at least once a week. I've had their hot steak and cheese, classic turkey and tuna sandwiches and they have not disappointed. My husband always goes for the Napa almond chicken salad sandwich while my son loves the BBQ chicken. This Vallejo CA store is possibly the most mismanaged location out there. Often have a note posted on the door regarding "staff shortages" as the reason for not being open to walk-in customers. It is an ongoing reality that is just flat unacceptable. Starbucks, a company in the same business generally, has a location within one half a mile that is NEVER closed and has no known staff issues. Same with a neighboring McDonalds. Same with nearby sit down restaurants. Only Panera has the problem. Why? Poor management that has prioritized not opening the lobby over serving customers. Clearly, the management could care less on the local and regional levels. Complaints to corporate are not acted on. Pathetic. read more

The food is good but I must agree with a lot of the other reviewers...avoid using the Drive-Thru! I have never had an accurate order each and every time I've used the Drive-Thru service. I paid over $7.00 for a bowl of the new Thai chili soup at the drive-thru. The soup is extremely overpriced for minced vegetables, two tiny pieces of chicken in about a cup and a half of a soup base that although flavorful, it had the consistency of canned soups. The last time I ordered a sandwich the meat was fresh but not enough to really be called a meat sandwich. They rely on the bread, not the protein. I understand because of the pandemic it increases the amount of curbside pickup orders, but what I don't understand is why this store always prioritizes their drive thru customers over both the In Store customers AND the curbside pickup orders. I've been here a few times and it's the same experience everytime. I pay for the premium membership and always order way ahead of time in the app but still end up waiting for so long it's such an inconvenience. They don't know how to manage time and take forever with helping customers. If you're going to go here, DRIVE THRU ONLY is the fastest way to get your food then the service is fine. Also there is this one worker there with long dark brown or black hair pulled back who always gives attitude and rolls her eyes when she THINKS customers aren't looking. I really like Panera food. I like their bagels, soups, salads, baked goods etc. My problem is every time we go our order is messed up. Eating there, pick up, or to go we get something or multiple things wrong. They are always super polite about fixing it, but it gets annoying. Not just simple things like forgetting mustard on a sandwich, but leaving chicken off a salad when you order and pay for chicken, leaving out an entire entree from the order etc. read more

I wanted to review Panera again, based on their early morning dining. I like to come in between 6 and 8 am on the weekdays. Michelle seems to always be there working the POS and she is always friendly and helpful! The crew preparing the food is always speedy and nice. Just went in to buy a loaf of bread and the service was horrific. I picked out my bread and I asked that it be sliced and the server told me I had to wait. While I was waiting, she stood there and talked to her co-worker for a good ten minutes...then she sliced my bread, threw it in a bag and never even said thank you. I was planning to bring Panera baked goods into work for a small morning meeting with a few staff. I ordered 6 bagels sliced in half, 3 tubs of cream cheese, a 4 pack of brittanies, & 6 chocolate croissants for RAPID PICK UP .... I ordered it in advance to ensure it would be ready and showed up over an hour later for pick up. Again this was for "Rapid Pick Up". My order was not ready when I arrived. I was astonished, because all they had to do was cut 6 bagels and throw everything else in the bag. I told the staff that I was running late for work and they had over an hour to prep this ..... they told me it would be a few more minutes, which turned into 10 minutes. I will never submit an advance order to Panera for a work event EVER AGAIN. This was a relatively small order, so I can't imagine how long I would have waited if I had order for over 20 people.... which is a typical meeting size. They can't handle it. read more

08/24/20 - Bad customer service. Picked up a chicken sandwich meal but once home, found out that the sandwich only had lettuce and tomatoes. Drove back to Panera only to be treated like a crook by an employee. Wouldn't even look at the sandwich. Asked for a manager, sadly, got the same treatment from her. Not even an apology. Very disappointing. Their website says they are open till 8pm I show up around 7:15. I walk in I see customers sitting at their tables enjoying their meals then employees behind the counter told me that they are closed!!! That they only are talking orders via the app not even from the 5 tablets stations they have in the lobby but from the app only. Weird but fine I get the app and place my order and see that it's in preparing status I'm waiting and waiting Panera employees walking back and forth doing their jobs. Another customer walks in and she's told the same that they are closed, orders via the app only, she gets her food and leaves then 1 of the employees comes up to me and says that they are all out of the soup I wanted even though the app let me place the order and I've been standing there in front of them the whole time. he gives me a cookie for the trouble and brings the manager to refund my money. I wasted a good 20 minutes just trying to get my food and walking out with just a cookie. This is very very disappointing experience for a somewhat new location. Seems like they need better management of everything, never have I ever walked into a food establishment and been told that they are CLOSED during open hours! Oh and their drive thru had a cone blocking anyone from entering. And no signs anywhere instructing app orders only.
