Well, everything that needs refilling. The skim milk was empty. As was the 2% and the half/half. I got their attention and squared it away, then noticed one of the coffee refills was dead. By far The worst Panera I've visited. Hands down. I won't be back. I did a you pick two The Romain in my salad was brown and watery in the bowl. The avocado was smashed. The Mediterranean sandwich was just nothing- thin - barely in leafy greens and feta. The little bit of feta that was on the sandwich had fallen in to the paper and bag. I think there wasn't enough humus to bind the feta. Tomatoes were very small and only on one side while the other items like onions and peppers on the other side. The staff were very polite and kind. Very! I appreciate that; And, if I hadn't seen so many poor reviews here on yelp - I might try coming back again because they were so kind and polite. My warning is check your food BEFORE you leave. We had been at a Realtor meeting that finished at noon so we decided to have lunch. We had a balance on a Panera Bread gift card so I checked Yelp for any locations nearby or on our way home. This one was right on our route so we chose this one. It had been a while since we ate at a Panera so we studied the menu to see what looked good. Since we had been drinking coffee at the meeting, we didn't want any more so we each decided to order Soup in a Bread Bowl. My wife decided to try their Broccoli Cheddar and I chose the Chicken and Wild Rice. I tried to order using the kiosk but had difficulty getting it to recognize the gift card so I ordered at the counter through a human, a pleasant young lady who got our order placed using the gift card. She then gave me a number to place on our table and said our order would be brought out to us. In about five minutes our Bread Bowl Soups arrived along with the bread removed to form a bowl and a Baguette that was included. The Soups were hot and delicious without being too salty so we carb loaded our way through lunch. The restaurant dining area was clean as well as the restrooms. The Panera that was at Orchard Lake and Maple for forever has moved here, and the interior is definitely impressive and modern. However, at 3pm on a Saturday the line was crazy busy, and there was only 1 person working the register. It took about 15 minutes for me to get through the line, and all I wanted was a bagel and a Chai tea latte - I would have used the handy self-serve kiosks, but I had a free bagel on my Panera account and the system wouldn't recognize it. The cashier got me my bagel, but then I had to go to the warm food pickup area for my Chai tea latte. She did apologize for the wait, otherwise frankly this review would have been 2 stars. They do have a pretty cool electronic board thing that tells you when your food/drink is ready (see my pic). This place definitely has some growing pains, is the TL;DR of this review. They need more counter staff. However, the space itself is very nice, and it also has a drive-through. read more

I'm sure the reason for the low ratings for this particular location is due to the prissy Bloomfield moms in the area, however, I had no issue with this Panera. Food was served promptly, ordering from the kiosk is no big deal, and dining in was fine. This location actually gave me a larger salad portion than other locations and the soup was hot. I'll choose this location over the Southfield one any day. I'm sure just like any other business that they have their mess ups but that's just part of being on the food industry. Take the soccer mom reviews with a grain of salt, this Panera is fine in my view. The only complaint I have is that the tables were all dirty and the place needs cleaned and swept. read more

I stopped here at an off time -- about 5:00 p.m. There was ONE cashier and a line of several people waiting. The cashier was chatting with one person, talking about private plans and other nonsense while several of us waited in line. It took me about 10 minutes in line to order a cup of tea. I wasn't thrilled with the tea choices (I would have loved something like Lemon Lift), but I found one that would suffice. I then sat down at a table, which didn't look clean and was kind of sticky. I appreciate that they want to keep the water hot, but my tea was actually too hot to have more than a couple sips. Perhaps this is how they keep people from having refills. While I was sitting there, a man next to me was getting impatient about his order -- apparently, just a bowl of soup -- which had yet to be served to him. When it finally came, I heard him complain to the server that there was almost nothing in it. She apologized, brought him a new bowl and explained the wait time by saying that they thought it was a to-go order -- which makes no sense. Also while I was sitting there, the young woman to whom the cashier was talking while I waited and waited to order brought out the meal of people sitting on the other side of me -- as did another young woman who'd been sitting in a booth when I walked in. I understand that people need and deserve breaks, but it seems to me that when a place is obviously busy, you need to staff the floor better. Important Note: This review is based on primarily eating here early in the day (between 6 and 7 am). The staff is very welcoming. Food is fresh, made quickly and comes out hot. Like most Paneras, this location's food, pastries, and bread are delicious. Since they all charge about the same amount, this location too is over-priced. The prices keep going up and, in some case, the size goes down. This is especially true with the baked goods: cookies are getting smaller and more expensive, chocolate inside the croissant doesn't reach both ends, and my beloved Bear Claw has shrunk considerably so I now refer to it as a Cub Paw. (It's all still amazingly delicious though.) Being early in the morning, the dining area is always neat. They open on-time and are prepared. (Sometimes the souffles need a few more minutes, but other than that...) About 25% of the time, I find coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup. The degree varies, although on one occasion I literally spit coffee back into my cup: I had a mouthful of grounds. read more

My first time at this panera and I was not impressed to say the least. The cashier was all over the place, no eye contact. AFTER paying, they asked "oh it rang up as a half salad, is that okay?" I said, well I wanted a whole salad. They proceeded to ring in another half salad and charged me (more than I should've been charged because I got a pick 2). The food at Panera is always great...when they get your order right. This rarely happens. I highly discourage carryout or delivery, since there's very little chance of correcting the order when you're not on the premises. We tried to place an order online and the system wouldn't take it. So we finally went in and placed the order in person. It was a larger order for 8 people, but not large enough to qualify as "catering." When we arrived home, two sandwiches were missing, and four salads had no dressing. None. I tried calling the restaurant twice yesterday and twice today. The convoluted phone tree system sends me to a busy signal after 4 minutes of listening to the phone tree. Ha! Fantastic. I'm so sad to say that I have to write a horrible review for this Panera bread location. With everything going on with the coronavirus, I was deeply disturbed to see the person who was making my food through the drive-through window rubbing their eye three times with the same gloves on they used to prepare food. Not only was that disgusting, when I brought it to the woman's attention who gave me my food she acted as if she didn't care. To add insult to injury they forgot my cookie. When I called and asked to speak to the manager to let him know what happened he didn't care and hung up the phone so I would have to say that I'm never going to go to this Panera Bread location ever again and I was very dissatisfied with my experience. read more

If it's one thing about this location...they're gonna mess up your order in some way, shape or form. I've been here about 5 times and each time I'm either missing something from my order, the salad is missing some of the toppings that are supposed to go in it or it's the wrong order entirely. When you try to call them, you get a voicemail saying that the manager is busy and to call back during non-peak hours. It's too bad because after a long day of work, convenience is much appreciated (and that's partially what is being paid for by their customers) but this locations lack for attention to detail definitely makes a long day seem even longer. My friend/co-worker and I tried this location after we needed to get out of the office on a busy afternoon. I really hate the order yourself kiosks when literally ten feet away there is a human wanting to assist you. So we skipped those and ordered from the people. I love the U-Pick Two options, I love the strawberry salad and the broccoli cheddar soup. The Mediterranean Veggie is another favorite of mine, along with the French Onion soup. I haven't been to Panera in a while so the disks were new- instead of waiting for our food down the line, we just found a seat and they brought it to us. We enjoyed our meal next to the window and were done eating in time to stop at the new Starbucks on the other side of the traffic circle. It's an epidemic across the service industry as a whole lately, but the customer service at this Panera is worth mentioning. This might be the worst and most useless drive thru ever. Let's start with the order taker. I ask for 2 chocolate chip bagels. Before I get out another word he says, as a matter of fact, 2 chocolate chip bagels sliced and toasted. I stop him to let him know that a) I didn't say sliced and toasted and b) I want one as is and one sliced with cream cheese on it. Ok, so he tells me they don't put cream cheese on bagels. Fine, on the side please. I proceed to the window where another car in from of me is waiting for food. 3-4 minutes pass and then they are finally on their way. Now I've asked for 2 bagels, not toasted, apparently not spread with cream cheese. One would thing my order would be at the window, ready to go. Nope! He collect my money and then disappears for a good 2 minutes. A different man hands me a bag and immediately turns and walks away. In the bag are 2 bagels, both sliced, no cream cheese, no knife and NO napkins. I honk the horn to ask for the missing items. I'm sorry, but where is the convenience of the drive thru? I stopped into this Panera the other day to grab a quick bite to eat on the way home from work. This is the third Panera I have been to. The restaurant is fairly large, I was there alone but I didn't feel like I was sitting right in the middle of someone's business conversation or something. It was clean as well, which is fantastic in my book. I ordered a bowl of soup and a cherry pastry, the broccoli cheddar was superb and the pastry was flaky and delicious. All in all, this is like your typical Panera, I would probably stop in for lunch again. Took a star off because I felt rushed when I was giving my order, I don't like that, it's like come on, who comes here to just order one thing and no drink. But other than that it was fine. I would give this location minus stars if I could. The first time I went there I paid extra for blueberries and they were left off my salad. I was told I wasn't charged for them and that they didn't have them. I had to show them my receipt to prove I was charged and then somehow they found some blueberries in the back. Yesterday, my husband picked up a steak and arugula sandwich for me and they left off the steak. Unbelievable. I was given the option of driving 20 minutes to pick up another one.
