I'm pretty boring when it comes to thai.... and i loveeee the pad thai here. and calamari's not amazing.. but it's a good side to get. Boyfriend and I order for pickup when I'm in town and want to bring it home for a quiet night in watching movies. We all got variations of Pad Thai here. I got the seafood for the first time and was very pleased. The seafood one had shrimp, squid, mussels, and scallops. The spice rack has real pepper spices, powder, and sauce -something for everyone. Cherry on top is the prices are quite reasonable! Great service but mediocre food. Gave this restaurant three tries now and personally doesn't compete with the other thai restaurants in the area and is overpriced. I came from Thailand. I got food to this place for the first time and was not eat able. Then, 1 year later I tried again because i wanted to give it another chance and I saw many people in there. I asked Thai favor and with the help of the kind waitress, I got Thai taste. Later on, I went again with my other Thai friend. We ordered Tomyum Kung and other dishes. My Thai friend was very disappointed that I took her to that place because the Tom Yum and other dishes were tasted nothing like Thaifood that we know. However, the waitresses are nice. reasonably high marks for flavors and atmosphere, a bit pricey so its not a great value ... crispy basil duck is a winner but portion is not generous ... I go here but not nearly often enough - I'd happily visit more often if they'd lower the price point just a tad OR if they gave you more for the price they charged. read more

This is really good food. The Spring Rolls are nice an crunchy, the Crispy Duck is delicious. My wife loves their food, too. The staff is very friendly and they work hard to be sure you are taken care of. Prices are reasonable and the portions are nice sized. Panisa is the bomb. I ordered pick-up for the first time tonight. I ordered Bruce's choice (drunken noodles) for my wife, shrimp curry noodle soup for me and calamari for both of us. And it is amazing! Spicy curry was excellent! Drunken noodles were spicy and exactly what we were looking for. The calamari and sauce was perfect! The price was worth it. Not cheap but worth it. Most thai restaurants specialize in a few dishes. However, Panisa Thai seems to do every dish well. My usual go to dishes are the Pad thai, Kraprow, Panang Curry and Pad Pik King, which are excellent and the best I've had. Also, they have excellent service and never fail to please. read more

It's the most ill mannered, rudest thai restaurants in nova. We went into the restaurant 65 mins ahead of closing time on Sunday. The waitress came to take the order and we ordered our first dish curry soup noodles. She came back after 5 mins and we ordered cashew chicken. The food was ready within 10' mins which was quick but the cashew chicken was cold and noodles soup warm!!!! I would expect the food to be hot forget about the taste, it was tasteless chicken ever. And the curry soup is sour but nothing. In this mean time the server gets the check within of we started EATING. She goes to take out the sauces without even asking if we are done eating and then while I was still trying to gulp some of those noodles she asks if we need boxes ‍ and the cherry on of it was finding roaches on the floor. And we left that place before 45 minutes of closing !!!!!Please do not waste your money or time going here expect if you want to look at the cute paintings. read more

Currently writing this while I have waited over 1 hour and 45 minutes for my food. I called and asked how long it would be for 4 orders and she said 20 minutes. So I called back a half hour later and she told me the wait would be an hour to get our food. I still went along and put in my order. I went to pick up the food an hour later and now it is 1 hour and 45 minutes later and still no food. This place is completely unorganized and should have stopped taking orders long ago if they couldn't fulfill them. Such a waste of time. read more

I had the beef pad see ew last with extra Chinese broccoli. It was fantastic and I wish I would of tried it sooner! My only regret was that I didn't make it any spicier . The noodles were yummy and just like how I like them, super thick. I really like how it wasn't super greasy. The staff was courteous and very welcoming. Since there are few choices in Burke people are stuck eating this garbage, dark meat chicken, gooey noodles. There are a lot of good Thai restaurants in Fairfax, but there are not that many great ones. This place is far better than the Pacific Cafe which it replaced. It has nice decor, the prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent. I strongly recommend their veggie spring rolls and drunken noodle. My wife and I eat here probably every other week or so and I have always been pleased with their service. read more

I placed an order over the phone at 6pm, knowing that the restaurant would be packed and didn't want to deal with the lack of servers we usually encounter when eating in. I arrived at 6:30pm only to find out that they had no order under my name in the kitchen. We had a relatively simple order of two pad thai dinners, one with shrimp the other with tofu, and something for my daughter. Should have been an easy thing to do. I was wrong, in fact, while I got an "we are sorry," I got no other option for food. It's Saturday night and it really means something from a business when they can't do more to replace the meal. My guess is that they served the food to the in-house diners or blatantly failed to write the order down to begin with. While we have been more than patient with Panisa considering the dining experience is less than par, we will never return. Shame on you for letting us down in this manner. Update: we got a call from the restaurant at 9pm saying our order was now ready for pickup. Seriously?! read more

my parents were going to the occoquan, decided to visit me and take me out to dinner. i had been DYING to try this place since i moved to the fairfax/burke area since august because of all the great things people have said about it. and i must agree, it was quite good. we were seated and the place was still slightly full (8:30 p.m.) which was a good sign from the start. although i think i did go with many preconceptions because of yelp, my drunken noodles werent as good as i thought they were going to be. the only reason i ordered them was because my mom wanted the pad thai and i hate ordering the same thing as the other people i am eating with ... a little OCD pet peeve of mine ... i think the chicken pad thai was better than my drunken noodles... my dad had some type of salad because of whatever his will-power to stay away from fried foods and other bad things...but he ordered the coconut milk soup (with HUGE chicken pieces) ? whatever. i hate you men and your will power and YOU ALL seem to have it!!! meanwhile me and my mom started with the fried spring rolls which we devoured. my only annoyance was my server. once seated he stood at the table for like, 10 minutes and we're like, just put the rolls and soup in, we're not ready. he was young and just stood there, a few times when he came over, speechless. hahaha it was a little funny we had a chuckle. another thing about the server. my mom & i like hot food so she asked for her pad thai spicy. he asked what level 1-4. my mom said 3 and he looked at us like we were crazy and was like, "okay i'll put 2. because they tell us whatever the person says to minus one and put that one in." first, i dont think youre supposed to tell us this dude... so we were joking around with him that maybe we should put 4 to get 3. he didnt get it. i dont even remember what number we ended up with, i think we ended up with 2, which was not spicy enough. so, if you want level 4 then you have to say level 5 which is non existent?? the portions were huge, but me, being a poor college student who loves to indulge in the best food out there, scarfed it down and couldnt even take anything home :(. my water was never empty and a lemon was brought out every time for a refill! my favorite!
