The restaurant is small, but you get a great view while you are there. They have a large bar in the middle so you can either just go for a drink or a sit down meal. The staff seemed very attentive when we arrived and seated us. The restaurant only had a few tables full. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. Some of us ordered starters and then the meal. The house salad was huge enough for a meal and the smoked chicken soup was different but tasty. Each time something was brought to the table another person brought it. Was asked if we wanted refills and said yes, but they never came so the next time someone passed we asked them to get them. Our meals came out and they were presented well and big portions. The hanger steak with truffle fries would have been very good if the steak wasn't over cooked and they had brought out a steak knife like they said. Waited a bit and the knife never came out so the others at the table were halfway done when one of them went to the bar to get a knife so I could cut my steak. The fries were delicious and the demi glaze was spectacular. The food was over all very good, but the service was lacking with them not being busy. This place is ok but you're mostly paying for the view... sadly where the window breaks is at eye level so you have to lean down or sit up to see the view. My husband and I arrived after a Sabres game. It was starting to get busy so I ordered a manhattan and the hot toddy for two and gave the bartender my card immediately so we could start a tab and go grab a seat before they were all taken. The bartender handed me my card back and I joined my husband with our drinks. We sat enjoying the view when another bartender came over to our table and asked for my debit card, I told him that the other bartender already swiped it and we have an open tab. So I told him swipe my card and close my tab and bring me the receipt. I am not sure if they never swiped it the first time? Was wearing a hat and even though there was a table of guys wearing hats and the game was on the tv the bartenders apparently decided it was unacceptable for me! Made multiple comments to me and to each other making me after initially ignoring me after i sat down. well not completly ignoring me i got nasty glares if that counts! I get it, I was wearing a hat it, but you work in the hospitality industry! This restaurant and bar is such class. After a Sabres game, we stopped in for a drink and to take in the city skyline views. Our bartender Osmond was such a nice guy, easy to talk to and made fantastic drinks. I ordered a "Smoke Old Fashioned" because honestly, I saw another customer order it and I really wanted to try it. Osmond infused the drink with cherry wood smoke, and oh my goodness, it was easily the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. The whole process was neat to watch. Truth be told, I'm not even an Old Fashioned guy but I'd order that every single time we go back. Complete with a large ball of ice, twist of orange in a tumbler. This is literally the WORST SERVICE that I have ever had at a restaurant. The server Yonis was EXTREMELY rude and EXTREMELY offensive and at the end of the meal, I sent everything back because I could not even fathom the idea of paying for anything from this establishment. My friend was at the table and Yonis said that he was Cuban. My friend told him that I was also Cuban and he then made a comment, "No, she isn't," and turned up his face at me. Who is this guy?? How DARE he!! And not to mention, he already had an attitude to begin with! Once he realized that I was offended he tried to backtrack but it was already too late. Someone else ordered a burger without the cheese for her daughter who is lactose intolerant, he forgot and when they delivered the burger and she told him, he argued with her back and forth, telling her she never told him that. The manager, Cuong, then came out and the entire table proceeded to tell him that Yonis had been rude, disrespectful and nasty the whole time he had been serving us and Cuong proceeded to tell us that there were "two sides to every story." Absolute worst customer service in history. It was a joke. And not to mention that the food that they did bring out was brought out sporadically and one person didn't get their meal until everyone else was done. This experience left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and I will NEVER be back. My advice is that if you ever visit this restaurant and get Yonis, you should request another waiter because he's a disgusting human being and should definitely be fired. And the fact that the management stood behind their disgusting staff was another turnoff. For the amount of money you pay to stay in this hotel, the level of service is DEFINITELY disappointing. read more

Panorama has not only an amazing view of the canalside, but the food and service make it worth the quick trip to the 7th floor of the Marriott. We had brunch with 6 adults and 1 two year old. Grace was an amazing waitress, providing quick and pleasant service to the adults, and taking special attention to my niece, bringing her extra stickers and fruit when she was getting fussy. Will definitely ask for Grace when we return! The food was great, I had the breakfast poutine which was delicious and very filling. I went last night with a group of girlfriends we had a reservation for 8:30 weren't seated until 8:50. Placed our order didn't get our food until at least 11pm. Besides the wait the food was all wrong, half of it was ice cold and the other half was done wrong. Finally get the manager Emril Yesil to table touch after he stood to the side and WATCHED us complain. We received our check with all the meals, OUR bottle of wine and OUR cocktails on there but don't worry we got a feee dessert and a free cocktail after having 6 dinners being complete shit. I asked to speak to the manager again he basically laughed in my face and said he was busy, that's when I asked what was funny. He proceeds to say I laughed because what do you want it all free? Haaa talk about degrading and unprofessional. I honest to god have never been so disappointed with a manager of a FINE DINING restaurant at the damn Marriott like this before. what an epic birthday. Went out for date night with my girlfriend. We were super excited to eat here based on all the online reviews. Our reservation was 8:45p so they were starting to slow down for the night. However.. The service was extremely slow, it took over an hour just to get our appetizer of French fries. When our entrees came, my broccolini was completely charred black. I couldn't even eat it. Great views, we had an amazing window seat. Drinks were good, but our water never came back to ask us if we wanted another one. They took the appetizer off for being so late but it was still a $100 dinner for two drinks and two entrees. Wasn't my best date night experience :( we were disappointed. read more

5 stars isn't enough for this place. Where to begin. My wife has very serious stomach issues where she can only eat soup, and puréed stuff. While I stay here often for business, this was the first time I had eaten at Panorama, and I ordered the Beet Salad, but requested Grilled Chicken to be added. The salad was delicious, though surprisingly, it was provided with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Fortunately, the waiter and the remainder of the salad made up for the lack of chicken seasoning. The beets were huge and the salad was very tasty and well-dressed. I've been going to Panorama on 7 for the last 4 or so years, for Christmas dinner. This year I was very disappointed. The food and service were excellent, however the menu options were underwhelming. I understand that it was a holiday, but we arrived before 6:00 and they were out of their chicken dish. We also were unable to get fries. I was also disappointed in the lack of Prix Fixe menu that they've had every year since I began going there for Christmas dinner. There was also the disorganization and confusion regarding reservations. Stopped in to check this place out. Being a hotel bar, my expectations weren't too high. But the staff were excellent. Told us that if we didn't want a drink on the menu they would create anything we wanted. They were similar in skill to the staff at Lockhouse. Made us some really great drinks that we enjoyed while taking in the fantastic view of Canalside and the lake. I stopped in with one of my longtime friends to have lunch. Normally with hotel restaurants, I don't expect the best. Usually it's high prices and mediocre quality for the food. However, I found the opposite to be true with Panorama. The food is really good and pricing isn't insane. We started with some wings as our appetizer. Rather than the traditional sauces that we're used to in Buffalo, we went with their Roasted Garlic & Peccorino sauce. This sauce had a subtle garlic flavor and the pecorrino cheese really made it stand out. Both of us also liked that the wings were not covered in grease like some places. They were lightly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I say they did a nice job with that. Then came our lunches. My friend ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger and it was very nicely done, medium rare. They definitely included good, thick slices of bacon, good amount of cheddar cheese, and the burger itself was a very nice size. She enjoyed the taste of it and took half of it home. I ordered the Hanger Steak. This comes with their Peppercorn Demi sauce and the Truffle Fries. The steak was a nice medium-rare and was a good size portion. That with the sauce were a really good combo. It was not overly spicy or had too much of anything- it was just right. The fries were really good too, and they came with parmesan grated over them. Also, they were nice and crispy, not greasy, and added to the overall lunch. Our beers were nice and cold. They have a pretty good drink menu that has multiple types of cocktails, wines, and beer. It's one of the better drink lists I've seen with a hotel restaurant of any chain. Our server Yonis was very good with everything. He knew the menu and was able to make some very good suggestions. He was attentive, checked in with us periodically to see how things were going, and added to the good experience. Then as we were about to leave, their manager was also checking with us at our table to make sure our experience was what we wanted. A bonus is that they allow people to reserve tables using OpenTable, which is used at a lot of different restaurants in Buffalo and throughout the country. Overall, I find this to be a uniquely good experience. Not only is the food and service good; the lakeside view is outstanding and the overall look of the restaurant really sets it apart. It's not your typical looking restaurant with booths and chairs. Panorama On Seven has couches, high back lounge seats and overstuffed chairs. It really makes you feel more at home versus being in a restaurant. If you get a chance to visit Canalside in Buffalo and want a unique higher-end experience, definitely check this place out. read more
