On to the pizzas I tried: the Bombay sandwich is pretty yummy, lots of green chutney; the paneer is great; the pesto had a little bit too much pesto but it's still delicious. One of the best pizza places in the area! The manager or owner runs the place very well and makes sure customers are taken care of well. I've ordered a few times from here and have been amazed by the food and customer service. The wait isn't too bad either. I would recommend the schezwan paneer chilli and tandoori chicken pizza. Also, definitely try the graham cracker gelato, it's the best flavor they have! Also, they have a deal going on right now till March 30th, so if you order two pizzas you get a veggie delight pizza for free. A friend and I were on a roadtrip to the Catskills, and decided to stop off the NJ Turnpike to grab dinner. Lo and behold, and thanks to Yelp, we discovered Papa Pancho, an Indian inspired pizza place in Edison, NJ. We were blown away by the service and the incredible food. We got the large pizza with half tandoori chicken and half Bombay veg. It was epic. The makhani sauce on the Tandoori side was boss, the flavors were incredible, and the crust was perfectly crispy. The owner was also so nice, suggesting pizzas to try, and at the end of our meal, gave us complimentary spoons of graham cracker gelato, which was a perfect end to our incredible meal. We were trying to order and the man in the front was giving us attitude. I understand that the place is halal, but they failed to mentioned that to us before receiving the menu. Half of the menu turned out to be void... despite that being the case, one of my friends ordered before even being told, then they gave him an issue when he spoke to them about getting the wrong order. Honestly, the worst part is that we had to wait nearly 50 minutes for our pizzas. Everyone else received theirs, despite our party being the smallest with the fewest people. My friend got the pav bhaji pizza (not on the menu) and I got the chicken tandoori pizza. The pizza's are huge - enough for 2 (or 3 light eaters) to share. After seeing how big it was we wished we got only one pie. But each pie was very delicious!! I think I liked the pav bhaji pizza more. Lots of options for both non-veg and veg eaters. The guy ringing us up was very friendly and offered us free samples of their gelato/ice cream which was REALLY GOOD. He said it had no sugar, and they were all homemade in the store with fresh ingredients. My friend also got a thumbs up cola and I got a bottle of water and the total for that and 2 pizza's was around $27. I would come back and try their other pizza's for sure!! The only reason I gave a star off is because we went in the afternoon and it was SOOO sunny. So, we went there again yesterday 3/23 around 5pm. As expected almost all of the tables were occupied by diners. However, what was surprising was the number of takeout customers. We were there for around 45 minutes, and without exaggerating, takeout customers kept coming in, and quite a few had large orders, such as several trays of food/several boxes of pizza. This further reinforced our belief that we have found a local gem. First, I would like to again compliment the gentleman server (from Tibet) and the cashier/manager (young, thin, tall gentleman with a very closely trimmed haircut). We received a consistent 5 star legendary service from both. This time, we ordered three dishes. I noticed the couple sitting at another table enjoying what seemed to be a chicken dish. The server kindly told me that it was Chicken 65. Wow, when we received it, I immediately thought to myself that they should rename it to "Chicken Amazin'." It was that tasty. We again ordered the Chili Cheese bread from last time, and what I forgot to mention during my first review was the tomato sauce that came with it. Seriously, their tomato sauce can hold its own against famous pizza places in NY...the taste was incredible and I wouldn't be surprised if a chef from Italy worked in the kitchen. Our third dish was the Margherita Pizza. It was outstanding! They sure don't skimp on cheese, unlike many traditional pizza restaurants. The taste of the tomato sauce and biting into the dough...I'm actually salivating as I type! Lastly, the cashier/manager and server graciously let us try two desserts. The first was a Rose Cupcake. The initial bite into the whipped creamy topping with the fresh rose taste and the cake itself made me think that I should have watched them on Cake Boss. It was refreshingly delicious! The other dessert we tried was a chocolate covered caramel bar. Upon biting into the bar, I immediately thought why have a Snickers bar when one can have this gourmet high quality and tasty treat? I was glad my wife is petite, as I finished her portion of the cupcake and chocolate bar. I forgot to mention during my initial review that the server and cashier/manager brought us mango lassi. I take pride in trying numerous mango lassi from Indian restaurants in North NJ where we live, but non tasted as authentic, luscious, and flavorful as Papa Pancho Pizza. We'll be back. I've been coming here since they first opened, and Papa Panchos never disappoints. The pies are a little on the smaller side, good to share with 2 -3 people but not for a large group. That's not a bad thing however, as it just means you can try more of the different types! I've never tried the plain cheese or more typical pies but the "Signature Indiane" pizzas cannot be beat. My favorites are the Tandoori Chicken, and the (not indian) Chicken Mexicana. Because I always get takeout, I've only tried the gelato once but it was delicious! Just like the pizza, they offer the classic flavors but also have some unique indian flavors - like custard apple. There are days when you come across perfectly nice staff and amazing pizzas and other days when the guy behind the counter wants nothing to do with you, shuts down the restaurant 30 minutes before closing or forgets to put enough pizza sauce on the pizza. I continue to go to this restaurant for their Indian pizza - veg korma pizza, paneer tikka pizza and Pav Bhaji pizza are all great. It was a late weekday night and my boyfriend and I got a sudden craving for pizza. We weren't looking for anything gourmet -- just a simple cheese pizza. We dropped in to Papa Pancho and decided to order a cheese pizza and garlic bread, based on the reviews. We were utterly disappointed. The cheese pizza lacked the proper seasoning and flavors that it should traditionally have. The Indian seasoning just didn't seem like a natural fit with the marinara sauce. The garlic bread was just wrong. You would imagine garlic and butter to be brushed over soft, fluffy bread. This, however, was a flat pizza base with cheese and garlic sparsely covering it -- not that pull-apart-cheesy bread you would expect. This place may be better-suited for those who like a fusion of flavors (specifically, Indian & Italian) when it comes to pizza. However, if you're looking for authentic Italian pizza, this is not the place you want to go to. I'd recommend going around the block to Brooklyn Boys Pizza, instead. read more

I went here for the first time on a Saturday night and wow was it packed. The menu is different and is not the place you want to hit up for your typical pizza craving. The indian food inspired pizza recipes are innovative and they definitely work. I found the ingredients to be fresh and the pizza was delicious. Every pizza was made to order so it took a bit of time but the main guy running the place was on top of things, very nice and attentive. They also serve sandwiches and rice entrees but I had the paneer pizza only, which was a delicious blend of onions, makhani sauce and paneer with regular mozzarella cheese. I will be returning to try the other flavors. I also had the gelato which was surprising good. The fig and walnut gelato was awesome AND sugar free, which really was impressive. I love this place! This is the perfect fusion pizza place. The balance of Indian flavors with a well-done pizza works out in their favor. I have been coming here since this place opened up and like its sister restaurants - Moghul Express (right next door) and Mithaas (in a plaza across the road), I thought this would deliver the promise of good food. I was right, as I am in most cases pertaining food. I've always wanted to try their various pizzas but I never get past ordering the same one over and over again, the Tandoori Chicken pizza. Sometimes, the sauce is a bit sweet for my flavor but I just add some red chili pepper to balance that out or get jalapeños on it. It's such a delicious pizza and the chicken is well seasoned, too. I have also ordered their garlic bread which is yummy. The best part is the dessert! They have the BEST gelato - graham cracker. It is amazing! Can be a bit too sweet sometimes but I love the unexpected crunchiness of the graham crackers and chocolate as well as the subtle caramel-ish flavor of the ice cream. It's a great post-pizza treat. You can also take it to go in a pint! Avoid all other restaurants on Oak Tree and give this a try if you haven't! You won't be disappointed. PS. I ordered chicken keema pizza on the first visit, it was amazing. The spicy masala chicken kheema with herbs, onions and jalapeños... just mouth watering. I never ordered anywhere else from then. I like their variety menu items and tried them all. If you are ordering thier sandwiches, make sure you really hungry - I ate it for two meals. If u need food fast and hot, order online or over phone... it feels like the food is straight from the oven. Amazing Indian style pizza!!! Highly recommend getting the Szechuan paneer chili and paneer tikka masala pizzas. We usually get take out, never eaten there but it's a small diner feel if you want to eat there. They make the pizzas pretty fast, about 15-20 mins or so per pie. My friend who eats there frequently likes the gelato as well, but I haven't tried it. Next time you're in Edison, go to Papa Panchos, you won't regret it! read more

There is nothing I love more than a good pizza. I'm also Indian, so even more than a good pizza, I get really excited by a good Desi pizza. I had the tandoori paneer makhani pizza and it was SO good. The one thing I don't like about most Indian style pizza (in India, at least) is that the crust isn't good. Here the crust is crispy but fluffy - it's kind of like naan meets pizza dough. It's not very doughy, but just enough. $10 for a pie that can feed 3 is reasonable, the food came out fast, and the restaurant is really clean (cleaner than a lot of restaurants in Edison). The combination of flavors - the makhani sauce with the paneer and onions and peppers - wasn't overwhelming at all. I will definitely be back to try other varieties! I went with a vegetarian so I'll have to try something non-veg next time. read more
