Absolutely, hands down the best pizza in town! The owners are Italian and very friendly so you don't just get great food, and service but interesting conversations.

Customer service was smooth, first time here, was helped on my choice. They stretched it thin for me ‍

A truck driver told me this place had good calzones. First impression is everything. This is a clean restaurant and a clean bathroom. I got the lunch special which came with an excellent calzone. The meat was flavorful and not flavorless which is what the competition is serving. This place is a rebuy in my rating and definitely worth a try.

We stopped by to grab some lunch after a day of shopping, thank god we did. The restaurant was welcoming with the great smell of authentic Italian pizza The price for pizza was not bad at all, we ordered 2 large pizzas. First one was half pepperoni and half sausage, the second pizza was the barbecue with everything on it. All I can say is that I've had many pizzas from many different restaurants, but Papa V pizza is the best pizza we have ever had. The owner came out and talked to us about his restaurant and how he makes his pizza so great in the oven. It was a pleasure taking to the owner. We thank you for some delicious authentic Italian pizza. Bara Bing Bara boom! If you are looking for great pizza to eat, I recommend Papa V restaurant.

Loved it! From now on, if we want pizza, it'll be Papa V's! Wonderful owner. So kind. I didn't take pics of the pizza but the dessert was just as great! We loved the vibes and the music selection. Very welcoming. Don't let the negatives keep you away. Someone always has something to complain about. 10 out of 10.

We were excited to try this place out because of reviews and it was not at all worth all the hype. The staff were rude and unhelpful, the restaurant was dirty and tables needed bussing - but everyone was standing around. The food was ok but I've had better pizza. Won't be returning. A good pizza place that wasn't busy on a Friday night? Says everything you need to know.

Some of the best pizza I have ever had. You can taste the freshness of everything on it. Will definitely go back my next visit to Lubbock.

The pizza was really good but the pasta was even better. We will return next time we are in Lubbock.

Expensive and just ok. $86. For four waters, a pizza, a calzone and three chicken Parmesans. Flavors were ok.

Ambiance is casual enough, but you can dress up and not feel out of place. Not dim, but not overly bright lighting. Service was quick, friendly, and came by the table often. Now the food. I had heard good things about it, but I was quite pleased with how good it actually was. Bread is complimentary and comes out early. Very good bread. We both had the Pink Parmesan and it did not disappoint. If you don't know, that is Alfredo sauce and red sauce mixed. Chicken was well cooked and not dry at all. The tortellini it comes with is SO good! We had one plate with this, and then one with fettuccine noodles. Both are topped with the pink sauce. Tortellini was our favorite of the two, but we're both very good. Portions were generous. My wife and I could have split an order and it would have been plenty of food. Did not come with a salad or soup. I'm sure that could have been added, but was not included with the meal. Also had seafood items, but we did not try any of them. Pricing was on par with other restaurants in town. Most entrees were in the $11 to $20 range, with a few more expensive items. We will be back for sure.

What...was that?…read more Perhaps that's the issue. I remember what One Guy's used to be. It was formerly a place that I'd recommend to anyone visiting from out of town as a local favorite. It was a place I went when I cared less about convenience and using a coupon for some chain pizza and instead wanted something absolutely delicious. Sadly, it's not that anymore. The salad out front was decent enough, albeit pretty basic and definitely nothing special. The calzone was watery. Yes, watery. I don't even know how or why, but there was an excessive amount of watery liquid coming out of it. The pepperoni pizza was decent enough, but definitely no better than you're going to get from a chain, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) frozen. The sauce was particularly off-putting and gave me a different kind of nostalgia than I thought I would get eating here. It reminded me of eating Chef Boyardee vlin microwavable bowls as a kid. I was told that after taking the leftovers home and trying them the next day, they were even worse reheated. I didn't have that misfortune myself as I was done with it after the meal. The service was adequately good, but there was no crowd like I would have expected, and it's easy to see why. I'm fully aware of the reasons things may have gone a different direction (specifically downhill) at One Guy's and that there are now more options in town. I just hoped that this location still had some of that pizazz that made it special. Sadly, I was disappointed.

I went in by myself on a Thursday evening, as I was in Lubbock (and at TTU) for work meetings, and sat at the bar for a beer and dinner. Three employees -- servers and bartenders -- were working the place, as it was summer and school wasn't yet in session, so while most tables were filled, the bar had empty seats and a couple of tables were still empty. TEN MINUTES I sat at the bar before I was even acknowledged, and that was because the two guys next to me, who'd been there at least that long themselves, finally asked for menus, and so I said, "I'd like one, too." The guy got me a menu and I decided on what to order. Set the menu down, and another 5+ minutes went by while the servers dealt with other tables and even other customers at the bar. Now, we are 15+ minutes in, and finally the guy who got me the menu asked if I wanted something to drink. I ordered a beer, where he could have TURNED AROUND to enter it in the register and pour it from the tap, but he went to another table and I didn't see him again for another 5 or so minutes. At that point, I'd had enough, and I left. I would have enjoyed trying the pizza and enjoying a beer there. The place had a cool vibe and the food looked and smelled good, from what I could see from neighbors. But the dismissive attitude of the staff who must actually have looked THROUGH me (I was at the very center of the bar and I'm pretty sure I'm not transparent) and having been ignored for about 20 minutes was enough. Went down the road to Flippers Tavern and had a wonderful experience there! Sorry, but if you can't even acknowledge your customers when you're busy but not slammed, you don't deserve my business. Maybe it's because I'm an Old Dude and not a young hipster or college student, but it was disappointing and frustrating. Bottom line: skip this place, especially if you're over 35 or so.
