Delicious meal on New Year's Eve! Made our reservation through Open Table which was efficient. They called me the day before to be sure we were coming and they were very pleasant on the phone so I knew it was going to be a nice experience for us. Our server, Ruth, was attentive, efficient and pleasant. Could not ask for a better server! The food was delicious. All three of our boys ordered the tuscan chicken, my husband had pollo bianco, and I had a salad with shrimp. All of us enjoyed each bite. It had been awhile since we'd been there so, about a month ago, being in the neighborhood decided to head over. No reservations on a Friday evening, but were seated immediately. Had pollo Bianca and it was delicious and portions so generous that each person was able to bring home enough for dinner the next night! The staff was attentive and informative. Wine reasonably priced and the restaurant itself warm and inviting. We had such a lovely time we went again last night. It was a great, repeat performance. Had calamari-- not a favorite of mine until now! Cooked to perfection & melts in your mouth-- not a chewy rubber band on the plate! The specials of pasta Alfredo, vegetables and a chicken cutlet to die for and a salmon in cream sauce were also excellent... but, alas, no room for dessert! Not sure if we ordered the wrong items or it was a off night for the kitchen. Our meal, the food was totally tasteless. The food was 1 star at best, the extra star was for the service and atmosphere. My daughter and I went in around 7pm on a Friday night. Place was not busy. We got a nice table right in front of the kitchen which had 5-6 guys working in it. My daughter had the seafood pasta special which was shrimp, scallops and arugula with bow tie pasta in an oil and garlic sauce for 28.00. The large plate of pasta was tasteless and greasy. My daughter had said it had a lot of oil but I figure, maybe it settled, try mixing it up. I did notnrealize how much oil until I traded plates with her...looks like about 1/2 cup.The 3 scallops in the dish was like pieces of hockey pucks, totally overcooked and white just like one. The shrimp was over cooked too. This dish was a total failure. I had the Prosciutto wrapped shrimp antipasto with a side of Portobello mushroom risotto. The Shrimp had good flavor but again way too much oil. The risotto was sad. It was like over cooked rice. Not creamy, no taste and worst part was the mushroom was just cooked and added to the top! Came here last night for dinner with a friend. She has been here numerous times and is a regular. For appetizer we shared calamari which was fried to perfection. For entree I had the fettuccine special of the day. It had chicken, shrimp, sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms with a light cream sauce. Omg it was yummy and a huge portion. I had the rest today for lunch. My friend had a chicken dish (forgot the name) which had a salad on top of thin sliced breaded cutlets. I had a pomegranate martini which was perfect. My friend drank Merlot (her drink of choice). For dessert we shared the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Everything was perfect. Our waitress was attentive but also gave us our space. We used Papazzio to cater our wedding day! This was hands down one of the best ideas we ever had!!!!!! Dominick and his bartending staff were incredible, our wedding guests could not get over how amazing the drinks and the service were at our wedding. We did not have a line at the bar at all and the drinks were flowing. We had 150 guests and each of them had a drink in their hand the whole night! Dominick even helped us customize our signature drinks, and made everything for our event special. Working with Dominick was so easy and we will definitely be going to Papazzio on the regular. Went to Papazzio's with 3 others and had the worst meal ever. Not one of us enjoyed our dinner and we all had something different. Had to send back 3 dishes cause it was unedable. Ordered something else and sent that back too. We went there because we read such great reviews. Those who like it can't be Italian! I am from Italy and the sauce was no better then a can of plain Hunt's tomatoe puree. The Veal was like rubber and unchewable. The fish platter was dry and burnt and the rolls were half frozen. We had to ask for Italian bread that they toasted and burnt that too. I will say the waiteress was very sweet and did not charge us for what we returned. My wife, son and I had dinner there recently and we will not be going back. When an Italian restaurant can't get a staple dish right like linguini with meatballs, it raises a red flag for what's to come, and is offensive to the customer at $26! I sent the linguini back and it was comped from the bill, but the manager seemed disinterested to listen to what was wrong with it. The meatballs were rubbery, bland, and a tad sour (my wife said they were starting to turn), and the marinara sauce was dumped on top of the spagetti and not tossed and infused in the pan with the linguini, and it formed a watery pool in the bottom of my plate - not a very appetizing sight! I can make a better spagetti meatballs at home for a fraction of the cost. read more

Husband and i wanted to go on a long overdue date night. We were both craving Italian food, so after looking for places around the area, we decided to check this place out after reading the reviews. We are so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the service was super friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing! I had the pasta special of the night, which was a pasta Carbonera with seafood, and my husband had pollo Tuscany. Soooooooo delicious! From appetizers to desserts everything was amazing. My husband even had a few of their cocktails and it wasn't weak that's for sure! Best thing about it was it had a live jazz band that wasn't too loud. We hired Papazzio's Catering for our August 1 wedding and it was the best decision we made. We were one of the couples whose wedding planning was impacted by COVID. We cancelled our larger venue wedding and planned a 45 person outdoor reception in my parent's backyard just 6 weeks before our wedding date. We were looking up wedding caterers in Queens on The Knot and Pappazzio's was one of the first that came up. What struck us as interesting was that the contact information was for the owner himself, Dominick, listed with his personal cell phone number. On a whim we called it and the rest, as they say, is history! Dominick was incredibly thorough, incredibly patient, and we knew immediately we had made the best choice. Not only did he put together every detail of the catering menu (passed hors d'oeuvres with a buffet dinner) but he made sure every detail he could possibly be involved in was perfect. He came to see our  location as soon as we had our initial sit down with him, measuring each of the rooms we'd use and ensuring his team and equipment would work. He provided suggestions on how best to set everything up given the limited space we had (and BOY did it look GOOD!), and on the day our party tent and rental company came to set everything up, he was with us for hours. He wasn't only checking the catering aspects but EVERY aspect. He helped us set up tables, he helped us measure everything to ensure we had proper social distancing, and he ensured he had the rental company's information in case there were any issues.  Because NYC had just entered phase 4 the week of the wedding, we were still very concerned with safety protocol. His team wore masks and gloves the entire time.  The appetizers were all served in individual mini plates/cups so that no one would be touching another person's food. The buffet was all served by his team and we had hand sanitizer stations at the front of the buffet table so that all guests were as safe as possible.   Once everyone had sat down with their first servings (and we think just about everyone went back for seconds it was so good!), Dominick went around to each table to ensure everyone's food was just right, asking if he could get anyone anything. His personal touch was felt by all. Guests at the party kept saying, "I never had to get up to refill my wine or champagne glass,  the staff always knew the right time to come and fill me up. They were there at the ready, but not in an invasive way". We had the very best wedding day and never had to worry about anything because of Papazzio's Catering and Dominick. I cannot believe it's taken this long to order from Papazzio. Once again a Sunday night dilemma of what should we order was quickly resolved by all the great reviews we read. We ordered 3 different dishes and they were all absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh, authentic and just perfect. Couldn't believe how moist the chicken breast was in the 2 different dishes we got. All the sauces were excellent and pasta tasted like they were handmade. They portions are also extremely generous. We were so full but couldn't stop taking our last bites! I think we found our favorite Italian spot in the neighborhood. read more

This place was delicious! My fiancé and I happened to be walking around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Papazzio. We were seated right away and our serve, Jose was so attentive. He gave us great recommendations. For our appetizer we shared the meatballs in marinara and it was cooked perfectly. The meatball was moist, dense, the sauce was so flavorful. It tasted like my Zia's sauce. For dinner I got penne alla vodka and my fiancé got the ravioli with bolognese. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the vodka sauce was flavorful, and I enjoyed the chunks of tomato. My fiancé said the ravioli was delicious, perfectly filled and the sauce was excellent. My fiancé got a homemade lemonade that was excellent, perfectly sweet and tart. I got an Aperol spritz and it was well balanced. Our server, Jose was so kind and attentive. We talked about life a little, and he mentioned his wife & family. We asked if he had any advice for us since we just got engaged and he gladly gave us some. So the wife and I dined here this Friday. She had the meatballs appetizer and shrimp, scallops and eggplant over angel hair pasta. I ordered the chicken francese and a bottle of sparkling water. $9.99 for sparkling water. That is not a TYPO. My wife's dish had so much pasta and so little protein. My dish came with carrots so hard that they crunched when I bit into them. I had to tell the waiter about it. $89 plus tip for an an unmemorable meal. "Mistakenly" charged us for the regular penne marinara instead of the children's penne marinara. "Mistakenly" charged $2 more for my wife's cocktail than what was listed on the menu. "Mistakenly" charged $1 more for my wine. When this was pointed out the waitress didn't offer to fix it. That's ok. I took it out of her tip. Funny how all of these mistakes only happen in the restaurant's favor. It was the only restaurant that was empty on a beautiful Friday night when all of Bell Blvd was bustling. I went online to view the restaurant's gluten-free items on the menu for delivery. The girl who took my order had over-charged me. I ordered gluten-free eggplant alla parmigiano for $19.95 and it said that it comes with gluten-free penne pasta. When delivered, I was charged $27!!! The delivery guy phoned the girl, and she argued that they charge extra for gluten-free. She also charged me more than the published price and the quote she gave me on the phone. So it was $21.95 plus extra $3, then tax. I requested that she look up the published price online, if she didn't believe me! I gave up and gave the guy $30 (~$10 more)!! The food was not cooked properly (all the penne fell apart), there was hardly any sauce in the dish and minimal mozzarella cheese topping on three thinly sliced eggplants!! The heartburn started quickly and so did my stomach ache after only ingesting one eggplant and some penne. It was NOT worth the money nor the discomfort!! :( read more

This place while once good for their GF options is just not worth it. Food came out cold. Waiter unapologetically brought back food to reheat and bone of the dishes came back with burnt pasta. No apologies still. They took this entree off the bill as we weren't going to sit around while they remade it. They could have at least comped or had manager come out to apologize. Had the most delightful little early dinner with 2 of my darling friends at this spot. it was a random rainy afternoon. We arrived a little after 4 on a weekday. I believe it was Wednesday. Now this review may be slightly biased because we received special treatment. When we came there were NO other tables occupied. Not even one! So we were waited on, hand a foot. When we arrived at the door there was a very handsome young gentleman (I'm typing in the funniest french butler accent. This place was kind of fancy. Just a cutie chilling under the sign to avoid getting wet in the rain. lol) We were greeted pleasantly and seated instantly (better be. there was NO ONE there). Everyone said hello to us. The guy at the bar. The waiters in the back that noticed us sitting there, glancing around wondering why the place was empty. As I looked around, I took it all in. A cute little bar, well stocked (no liquor was consumed during this dinner. Not a single one of us was of age at the time). Very clean place kind of small, but still it had a lot of tables and wasn't nastily cramped. Maybe when people are in there it looks crowded...I wouldn't know though. The menus are huge and by huge I mean in size it's a really big menu. The three of us could not comfortably all look at our menu at one time. lol We kinda laid at two and I just glanced over and looked at theirs to find what I wanted. The bread was DELICIOUS and I didn't want to get the menu up in my butter and what not. Appetizers here and literally small meals. After reading that line you may have said, "Aren't appetizers usually small meals!?" and to that I say yes, BUT they were all fancy and cool like we were in some high end culinary school kitchen. It was awesome. I didn't get an appe (bc i had yet another date planned and didn't want to be huge by time I got to the kid). Both of my friends ordered some shrimp thingy. The shrimp were HUGE. There was about 4 of them. And some odd looking toast. It had cheese and sauce. It was phenomenal. Can't recall the name of it...but if you see the menu get whatever appe they have with shrimp and cheese. For dinner I got the chicken parm. Can never go wrong with chicken parm but you can go EXTREMELY ABOVE AND BEYOND! It was Delicious. The chicken and the perfect crisp and was still tender and hit and the pasta was the perfect texture; not too hard and not too soft. Perfect. The melted cheese on tip was in a thick blanket and then I threw some mozzarella on top (*kisses fingers like an Italian) Tre Magnific! it was wonderful and the plate was ginormous. I couldn't even eat half of it! Of course my mind was telling my tummy to be full because she wanted to make sure I looked skinny and cute for later, so I probably could have finished that if I had planned better. My meal was $20 something. The appes were $14 a piece I believe. The waiters were pleasant and kept bringing out water in these pretty glass bottles. (they were probably being extra nice bc we were the only ones in there). It was a lovely evening and I've been meaning to go back but haven't yet. I def need to get something in the works. I'm so happy I finally found an amazing Italian restaurant. I just moved to the neighborhood and was so skeptical from other reviews but after seeing some of the reviews here I figured I'd give it a try and I'm so happy I did!! The food was amazing from appetizers to entrées, cocktails were phenomenal I fell in love with the perfect pair which is a must have if you go. The sauce was exactly what I look for in an Italian restaurant sweet, creamy sauce. Staff so sweet their was a family serving us and made us feel like family. I was celebrating my best friends matrimony and we couldn't have picked a better place. They are following alll covid procedures and even have outdoor seating which I know a lot of people feel some type of way about that but as the weather gets nicer I wouldn't mind especially for how good their food and service is. read more

This review is based on a birthday shower as we had the space from 1-5pm. The restaurant is hard to miss on bell Blvd as the lettering is large and obnoxious. When you walk in, the bar is immediately on your right and the lighting is very poor and dim. This place could not accommodate all the guests. We were missing tables and chairs. Some guests had to sit at the bar. Additionally the restaurant was taking orders so people were constantly in and out of the restaurant. Tables were set up for the menu and dinner rolls were already on the plates. So were bottles of wine and water. As for the food. Salads and pastas for all. Both plates were lack luster. The salad was boring with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes and croutons with a lite drizzle of dressing. Nothing exciting. The pasta was penne in a tomato garlic sauce. Way too sour and tasted like it came from a can.. On the side was cheese that was just okay. Entree options were veal Marsala, salmon oreganata or chicken parm. My table had someone order one of each so I was able to sample all. The veal was boring and bland. The salmon was too fishy and the crust was overdressed. The chicken was overdressed with the tomato sauce so you could not taste anything else. Food was terrible and service wasn't any better. Why anyone would come here is a question to me. Also very difficult to find paring. Don't come if you have a large party to hold. Definitely a miss. And I can't and won't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Came here for my husband's birthday dinner! Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We came on a Wednesday so we took advantage of the $10 pasta specials. Everything was delicious and they did not skimp on the portions. Also had gelato sliders and tartufo dessert (on the House for our birthday celebration which I thought was really nice) but didn't have a chance to take a picture! Parking can be tough since it's on Bell blvd, but go a block or so into the residential streets. I've never had to circle around for too long. Will be back! read more

Dominick and his team catered our son's bar mitzvah at the Castle at Fort Totten. They did an excellent job with the event. They were very attentive to meet all of our needs and provided great recommendations to make the event move smoothly. They spent extra time to setup and coordinate a complex event. Dominick also gave my son a wonderful food-tasting and the experience will always be remembered by my son. I have been here so many times over my 4+ years living in Bayside a review is overdue. This is one of my favorite date night spots in town. I was most recently here Saturday night and service was fantastic, not rushed at all and our server was perfect with the timing and letting us linger but not feel neglected. The owner Dominick, is so friendly and will introduce himself to patrons he does not know. I just find the overall experience to be delightful. Ive had dinner at Papazzio on multiple occasions, i was so fully i forgot to write a review. The service is outstanding at this restaurant. We rented the private room downstairs which takes you to a super cute wine cellar where you can have a private small dinner with your loved ones. The parmesan is my favorite, the wine is fabulous and the bread, OH MY!! I would recommend everyone to come eat here.
