I will leave a review for the owners in the hope that they will see how they might improve their business. I booked a reservation and then went on Yelp to confirm I had not made a mistake. Normally, I discount low reviews based on complaints about service because very often they reflect the narcissim of the reviewer more than reality. However, in this case, there are so many very specific complaints about service. In addition the dinner menu seems very limited and obvious to the extent that I did not see any reason to dine here in the evening. I ended up cancelling my reservation. A couple of recommendations. First, when you see this many complaints about service, do something! Second, your dinner menu reads like you are not even trying. If you want to focus on bruch, so be it. read more

We stumbled upon this place last minute for dinner and everything we ordered was really good! To start, we shared the squash and burrata salad. I loved the dressing they put and the salad itself tasted very fresh. There were so many ingredients in this beautifully plated dish, and all the flavors went well together. For main, we each got uni pasta with caviar and this was the highlight of the meal! Noodles were cooked to perfection and you can tell they only use good quality ingredients. For dessert, we got dark chocolate (very small portion) and classic napoleon. I preferred the classic napoleon more. Service was excellent. We sat outside; our waiter was really friendly and kindly turned on the heater for us. I even brought out my dog to their patio and we all had a fun time! We went for brunch on a Thursday and while we had reservations, they probably weren't necessary. Their menu likely rotates based on seasonal availability of ingredients. We had charcoal potatoes, smoked salmon on rye, poached duck egg on rye, and the prosciutto peach salad. I don't usually take food pics, but the plates were just too nice to skip pics on. Very colorful! Some other reviews complained about the ordering process. It's a little different - but maybe not so different since we've made it through the pandemic. You basically order everything from your smart phone while at the table. We found it to be incredibly convenient because you could take care of payment, etc all at once. We went for dinner last night and it was great. Our servers were both so friendly and attentive. We shared three items and they timed them nicely for us. First up, the beet salad. Light and fresh and tasty. Next was the fish charcuterie board. It had a lot of variety including roe, uni, sardines, mackerel, salmon, etc., and came with delicious seeded rye bread. Everything was tasty and unusual. Finally, we shared the squid ink tagliatelle with scallops in a cream sauce. It was rich and perfect to share. We ordered the salmon and a pasta dish along with two appetizers. The olives and fish, and the dates. The wine came out in a timely manner. The food took forever. The dates and prosciutto were good but the blue cheese they put in them aggressively attacked the palate. The olives took an hour to get out to us. It's beautiful and served with smoked salmon, avocado, two slices of fresh baked bread, capers, ricotta, lemon, two sunny side up eggs and a variety of olives. We also got the gluten-free banana bread. Yum. You order from the table or at the counter - so there's limited contact because of Covid. We also got two iced americano's with oat milk which were delicious. It's Italian fusion, so you have dishes on the menu like duck confit, mediterranean salad, and peach and burrata salad. Absolutely terrible service--If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. I'm really understanding to being short staffed, but this experience was insane. 3 coffees took 15 minutes to come out. My friend asked for cream & sugar, and never got it. We waited over 40 minutes to get 2 overnight oats and a slice of french toast. Because of the wait, our waiter (Fabritzio) OFFERED to comp our coffees, and we were very grateful. Come time to pay, I ask to see the bill and he shows me the reader, but as I'm trying to review the bill, he pulls it away. I tell him I'm not done looking and he said he'd print out a paper receipt for me. He leaves and comes back with no receipt and proceeds to charge one of my friends. She wanted to confirm we wouldn't be charged for the drinks and he said "yea yea." My other friend proceeds to be charged for all 3 drinks and I still never received an itemized bill. I ask once again, and he gives me a receipt that just says the total--not the items. I had already left the restaurant when I noticed, so I went back to ask for an itemized bill again. Looking over, our drinks were not comped. He charged all the drinks on the second bill trying to be sneaky!! I went back once again to talk to our server and he said "yea I know. There was nothing I could do." He knew he didn't comp our drinks, yet failed to tell us. He said he couldn't comp the drinks and I'm confused as to why he would even offer that if he couldn't. It wasn't something we asked, he offered it because of how long the food took. I ask to speak to the manager and he quickly shuts me up by telling me the manager JUST left, how convenient. He said I can come back tomorrow and deal with it then. I ask if there is anyone else I can talk to and he says no. I refuse to believe that no one else is in charge. There has to be someone I can speak to and he's not letting me talk to anybody else. He proceeds to get pretty rude and aggressive with me inside stating how the food came out eventually, so what more do I want. I only wanted him to be true to his word, and now apologize for trying to get over on us. He thought we wouldn't notice since he didn't give me an itemized bill at first. He said he'd comp the drinks next time but 1) How do I know he'd keep his word then? 2) I am not coming back. The lady listening next to me said "wow, what customer service" so I know it wasn't just me thinking this. Very disappointed as this was my first time here, and I absolutely will not be returning. We just had early dinner with our 2 year old, and they do live jazz nights so you get a really awesome jazz band playing in the background while you eat. The reason why for us this establishment deserves the one star is simply because of the fact that I got a stomach flu eating one of the dishes. How do I know? I've only eaten two things the day of, and the meal after this one was a shared plate with my family. And I don't see anyone else in my family with body aches, diarrhea and fevers. Secondly, it follows the general pattern of a stomach flu -- symptoms occurring 12-18 hours after the infection. But fine, how was the service? Well, to start, we asked the servers for a cup of ice for our son, and they couldn't even manage that. On two different occasions we asked, and both times they managed to forget. Does this level of service warrant a one star? Probably not, but it certainly doesn't help. At one point, we ended up getting a different server, who was great. Let's put the service at this point at 3 stars. But how was the food? This brunch may as well have been called the sourdough brunch, because that's all they served! Oh, you want French toast? Here's sourdough with maple syrup. Oh, you want an open-face pizza with Salami? Forget flatbread, here's sourdough with some melted cheese! I ordered what is basically a "duck egg" Benedict, but at this point I'm highly suspect that I actually had duck egg. That being said, could I wager you a guess to what type of bread it came on? But the audacity to charge any of these at or around $20 is truly wild -- this "duck egg" thing being almost $30. What exactly are we paying for here? Creativity?! All in all, this is honestly like a 2-3 star Yelp experience. At least brunch. And at the price point, it's a solid 2. But the fact that I got sick implies that there's something foundationally broken in the kitchen from a health and safety perspective. And for that, I'd say potential customers should steer clear, should they open themselves up to the potential of becoming ill. It literally happened to me! read more

This review is for ownership/management. For example, we ordered Elderberry wine spritzers that were described to contain mint. They arrived, there was no mint present. When we asked about that, they said they ran out. (Should we have to ask?) They also tasted so super sweet that my friend and I couldn't enjoy them. So we asked for them to be replaced with something else... but we were expected to still pay for them. Didn't love that. We also didn't love: Being declined when asking for hollandaise on the side instead of on top (the menu didn't seem to have a "no modifications" policy stated) Being told that a protein added to a Bowl couldn't be placed on top of said Bowl ("you can add it but it will be served on the side" OKAY...) Being charged for iced tea refills without any mention of it until the bill came Being told that the soup would be "fine" in a cardboard to-go box (I'm not here to get into a scientific or culinary debate on the "state" of soup, but last I checked it was a liquid, and I was under the impression that folding cardboard to-go boxes cannot be expected to adequately contain liquids.) Being ignored by the chef when he clearly came out to greet neighboring tables to ask how their meals were (yep, this was after we acted a little miffed about the above policies) Being told there was no manager present to speak to. Would I come back? Maybe, but I see other reviewers who had similar experiences here more than once, so I'm very hesitant. Good food can only go so far. Who would have thought a new aged French restaurant would have the most amazing matcha almond milk lattes and vanilla lattes ! Wow! Roman kills it on the baristo front!
