Everytime I call they say they're already closed. Even though the store hours say 9pm and it's 8:20 they answer the phone and hang up. When I finally got someone to answer they said they're closed. I said online your hours say till 9pm. He said he knows but he makes his own hours and he's already cleaned up for the night and that they now close at 8:30. I said it's not even 8:30 yet. He said he knew but that he decides when the store will be open. Now I dunno if that was the store owner but if it wasn't then I'd be pretty ticked off that my employees were making their own hours and closing whenever they felt like it. And if that was the owner then I feel sorry for his business because that's not how you keep loyal customers! I've been going to that place and recommending that place for years but ever since the lockdown ended their store hours have been all over the place never answering phone calls not open ending when the hours say they should be open. And to be honest the food quality has gone down hill too. Wouldn't be at all surprised if that place ends up closing down to to lack of customer service and lack of quality employees who actually want to work. It's sad that a place used to be so good has gone completely downhill do to lazy employees and a complete lack of customer service. If I could rate this place with zero stars I would. Y'all might as well close and move out so someone with a business that actually wants to work can move in!! Seriously your business is worthless. read more

I love their cheesesteak and really enjoy their other locations. However, today on my visit to this location, the restaurant had a very strong smell coming from the nail salon. The smell was so intense that I could not enjoy my meal. My stomach began to feel queasy do to the smell. read more

My husband and I both got the Texas cheesesteaks which have spicy peppers on them. The peppers were seriously spicy... even my husband admitted they were hot and he has a ridiculous spice tolerance. It was a delicious burn though. The fries were also perfectly cooked. Nicely brown and crispy. It was a little bit on the expensive side... we spent almost $30 for two cheesesteaks and two orders of fries. We went on a Saturday afternoon and got ours to-go. "Damn son!" Were my first words after I took a bite out of my #7, no mushroom, cheese whiz instead of provolone. This things is the truth. Mind you, I ordered to go, and got home after about 20-25 minutes from when the sandwiches were in my hands, and it was still nice and hot when we got home. Y'all read what I got, my date got the same but hers included mushrooms, and she got fries and I got onion rings. I spent about $30 on the two meals which was a little more than I expected, but man was this cheesesteak good. The whiz and steak just go so damn well together, and the bread is the cherry on top. So much flavor in the sandwich and it's so basic. Honestly I'm craving another one as I write this at 10:19 am. I'm very tempted to try the fat philly, the freaky philly, and some of the melts they offer too. Oh yeah, we had gotten there at about 7 pm or so, to find some patrons in the dining area but nothing too crazy, then immediately after us, the steady traffic started showing up. Best cheesesteak I have had outside of Pennsylvania! The fries were fresh and delicious; we got disco fries and I just wish the cheese was mozzarella and not fake nacho cheese (not as authentic tbh). I've visited Papa Geno's 10 or 15 times always with excellent service great food at a decent price. Everything I've eaten has been tasty. I usually have one of the cheese steaks but this last visit I tried the #21 half pound philly burger, it was delicious. I'm from PA and this is one place that actually serves a correct Philly cheese steak in Houston. I don't go in for all the add-ons as those aren't Philly cheese steaks. I stick with #1 - the original. Need to dine in as the sandwich will get a bit soggy by the time you make it home. I did get the flu directly after visiting here once and can only attribute it to a sick employee. I'm still giving them 4 stars even after that. Their steaks done in West Philly fashion (chopped finely) were a bit too seasoned for my taste & a minus is a lack of cherry peppers (common problem of cheese steaks outside of the Motherland,) but I thoroughly enjoy mine. Had some decent onion rings in lieu of fries (eating healthy) which were decent. Clean shop, with a busy retro design that looked authentic, like a Howard Johnson's on meth.
