I can't remember what this was but it was so good

I specifically try to book flights with layovers in Dallas so that I can come eat here!!!! The service is quick and there's plenty of space with everyone's carry ons and bags while they wait for their flights.

Food is generally good, but I prefer the A terminal location. The terminal C location is crowded with the tables uncomfortably close together. Our server was professional, but the team around him seemed irritated to be working and annoyed with both customers and their coworkers. This spot was convenient, but one I will try to avoid in the future.

Oh my goodness! Talk about a great place! First off, every person that helped us was so pleasant! There seemed to be two of these right across from each other at the airport? Couldn't quite tell the difference...maybe just more room? One looked a little more open-air. They were both busy, but we got seats at their bar and we were waited on right away. The food portions were AMAZING! My rainbow trout (which I have never had) was delicious! Lump crab on it, toasted almonds, all in a perfectly done brown butter sauce. And there were two pieces of fish on that plate! Large pieces! I have not heard of Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen before, but apparently they are around. I definitely will not hesitate to return to one!

Yum and close to the gate to the place where you're headed! Fast clean friendly service! Enjoy!!!

My GO TO when in Dallas airport. I get my usual the crawfish etoufee and rice. This time I tried the platter and it was a hit. So flavorful and so consistent. I also got a sidecar and the bartender made it so well. The service is always good when I go. They move very efficiently to get your drinks and food out to make your flight!

We love Pappadeaux's. The airport version is slightly less than the real thing, but very good if you are traveling and need a good meal. Our server was super friendly and attentive. They have a good beer and wine selection in addition to a full bar. The food was served quickly and was hot and fresh. The crawfish étouffée was delicious, and not too spicy. I had them bring me some hot sauce on the side.

Planned a longer layover so I could finally try this place. Multiple flight attendants recommended it and I'm glad I made it in. Was able to be seated almost immediately during the lunch rush and the server was so helpful finding me a spot where I could sit with my bags. This place has a great vibe, especially being in an airport. It's big enough that you can sit in the back and forget where you're at. I started with the gumbo which had a great smoky flavor and the shrimp was perfect. Kudos for de-veining, there are more places than you think that skip this. The Texas redfish was the knockout punch though. Top 3 seafood dishes I have ever had. The redfish was cooked perfectly, crispy and flaky. The biggest lumps of blue crab I've ever had in my life. And the butter sauce was incredible, not overly salty but very fresh with the lemon. I don't know a lot about gulf food being from SoCal but I definitely know good seafood. Would absolutely be coming back.

Had a long layover at the Dallas airport and decided to grab a drink and an early dinner. My waiter was Emmanuel and he was superb. He was running around non-stop checking in with all the diners and making sure we were taken care of. The shrimp po boy sandwich was a large portion and pretty tasty too. Glad I stopped in.

You never know what you will get at airport restaurants but this place was a winner for me. I was not in a good mood but my waiter with his excellent service and the food turned that around for me. According to the check, my waiter was Adrian and he was fantastic. He greeted me with a menu and some iced cold water! When I ordered my salad with salmon, he asked me how I wanted my salmon cooked. And he even came back later and asked me if the salmon was cooked to my liking. (It was cooked perfectly medium.) The place was busy but I never felt like he was struggling to keep up. I never had to ask for anything and he was on the ball. My salad was so delicious! The dressing was super tasty and the salmon was so good. Nothing makes me happier than a good salad. If you're looking for a place to grab a bite in Terminal C, this is the place!

Wow that was good food. Not even just good for the airport, just flat out good. Service was also fantastic and it was clean, not overcrowded and space to put bags if needed.

Must stop when in DFW this location is the smaller one in terminal C near gate 14, but service is just as good and the food quality and taste is pretty consistent. There is a bar setting across the hallway for more seating and good for solo traveler or if you're in a hurry. Today the host promptly seated me and notified the waiter that I have a plane to catch in half an hour. Joseph took care of me and I was in and out in under 20 minutes. Ordered seafood & sausage gumbo plus old fashioned. Highly recommend this awesome establishment.

The food was excellent along with the customer service! I enjoyed every bite and wanted more! The blackened catfish was moist and tender, while the crawfish étouffée was deliciously creamy with a hint of spice! If ever in the DFW AIRPORT, GET HERE!!!

The fish is always so melt in your mouth tender. I've eaten here about 27 times over the years and always love everything I order. I usually get fish fillets and I love the sauce they use here too. They really have perfected their recipes and every location exceeds my expectations. I tried salmon in forth worth dining in and I had it to go once as well. Always a wonderful dining experience

That's a run on with terrible grammar.... That's how far off this place has thrown me. My server was also a freaking rock star!! What in the world is happening at Terminal A, DFW?!?!? He made excellent suggestions and took excellent care of me! In fact, all of the staff seemed to be top notch! Inside is like you are nowhere near an airport. It's kind of sunken between terminal floors or something. I took an elevator down and popped out in a strange place in a server area where my actual server was just standing there waiting. How in this hell is that étouffée that damn good. Now I realize some of the best Cajun food I've ever had came from a frozen bag from a place in Franklin TN (that's another story on Yat's), so I am likely not the best judge, but I do know good food. What I had here was really good. I got the crawfish platter and it was enough food for me, my server, and the fat guy sitting next to me at the other table. Well, maybe not, he ate all of his plate and then a whole dessert. I missed what he had before he inhaled it. But.... My server was skinny so.... LOL. I ate and ate until I could not eat anymore and still only managed to knock out about 50% of it. The fried crawfish was great and cooked perfectly. Just the right seasoning too. Dirty rice is hit or miss for me seasoning wise, but this version was really good too. I ate a good bit of it. The étouffée part of the dish was the real star of the show. Holy shit! So gooooood! Throw some of those fried ones in it and damn. I'm done. No more. If you read this, get your ass the DFW Terminal A and get some of this inside you as fast as you can! Stop what you are doing, miss that flight, leave grandma at the gate, ditch the kids, whatever you have to do, do it now, get on the dang train if need be and go get some of this food in your damn belly! I rode from Terminal D here and back just to eat! '26 - 11

(English down below)…read more Saliendo del aeropuerto DFW, busqué algún restaurante que tuviera sopa de mariscos; no sé de dónde vino el antojo. Digo yo... no sé. Mejorar estos dos detalles llevaría la experiencia en El Viejón a otro nivel. ¡El Viejón, recomendadísimo! ------------------------------------- Leaving DFW airport, I found myself craving seafood soup--no idea where the craving came from. I searched for nearby options and El Viejón came up. I checked the online menu and reviews, then drove 13 minutes, only to discover a real gem. What I loved: The service was excellent. Nidia took care of us--she was not only kind, but also attentive and efficient. Adolfo, the manager, is a great guy. The simple but important things: Their plastic cups are surprisingly original. The menu is simple and humorous. Prices are fair for the generous portions they serve. What truly impressed me: The seafood soup. This kind of soup is simple: either you know how to make it, or you don't--and when you don't, it ends up like the one at Pappadeaux... something to cry about. This one, however, is loaded with seafood (crab, clams, octopus, fish, shrimp, squid, etc.). It has a subtle sweetness, and you can taste every distinct note. Highly recommended. One soup is more than enough for one person. I learned that lesson too late--after also ordering the grilled octopus. I had to get it to go because it was simply too much food. My only two complaints: The tostadas they serve come with chicken that looks like tuna but tastes like plastic. My dog was with me and wouldn't even eat it--which says a lot. Very strange. The other issue is the music: too loud and all from the same genre. If the goal is to honor Mexican culture, there are so many genres to choose from. Just saying--I don't know. Fixing these two things would take the experience at El Viejón to another level. El Viejón--highly recommended.
