I have to give Pappy McGregor's five stars for this first and one time experience dining here tonight. It's very casual dining. The restaurant was empty on a Wednesday night (just us and another table when we were here). Friendly service. The food was great! Everything we ordered was delicious: oysters on a half shell (fresh, they order it in every other day), ahi egg rolls (crispy egg roll filled with tender and fresh ahi), short rib stew (huge portion of tender short rib over smooth and creamy mash potatoes), brick chicken (lemony, tender, nicely seasoned). My husband had a blackberry mojito, which was just as pretty as the picture shows it. It was really sour, but much better after our server doctored it up a bit. Personally, I would stick with wine or beer. Their wine menu includes local wines-I saw Tobin James, so that's a plus! Pappy's is a good pick for a good and hearty meal. read more

We ordered the fried calamari, the steak, pot pie, and the clam chowder. Everything was high quality with great pricing. I've had clam chowder for three days in a row since I was in San Francisco, and this one just beats the rest by a mile. Our server, Cody, was so enigmatic and friendly despite us being a large group (7 people). Even the hostess and the bus boys treated us so well. At one point we were pretty cold and they closed the shades and put the fans on to circulate the heat better. My fiancée was physically assaulted by one of the security guards and then we were forcibly asked to leave within a few minutes of entering. The manager was very rude and said that the word of the vindictive security guard inside was worth more than that of a woman. TERRIBLE PLACE, do not go here. On top of that, the security guard at the front acknowledged that we had just arrived and that the other guard was not being truthful, but then changed tune and decided to say "have you ever been punched by a real man?" and proceeded to chase us down the street looking for a fight. Luckily, everyone in line left and did not give this psycho business any of their time. I cannot understand how a business could be so disrespectful towards women. Very confused by this! I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE POSTED A REVIEW BUT...Worst bar experience iv ever had...we came to this bar last night with a wedding party that notified ahead of time..(whole outing was planned). My wife who's in the wedding party left her purse at the venue (it has emergency snacks in it) and took a clutch, she's type 1 diabetic, and shortly after arriving her blood sugar starts dropping fast. It's 10pm on a Sunday options are slim but we see they advertise for pizzas I'm waiting in line to order one for her and I see the cook i ask is the kitchen open? He replied not really but we serve personal sized pizzas, okay cool I say that's perfect I'm waiting to order still get to the counter and the manager Griffin says they're not serving them, we banter back and forth about it I end up with a sprite, pineapple juice and two bags of saltine crackers...At this point I'm starting to get worried as my wife's sugar is now basically dangerously low. She drinks some juice but it's not coming up fast enough so we decide to leave so we can get her some real food (for context we haven't even been there 30 mins). I walk her out she's got sprite in one had juice in the other and the bouncer rushes over and says you can't leave with those drinks, I calmly explain look she's having a medical emergency it's just sprite and juice (also for context I'm sober so I was sound minded) he stands his ground..I stand mine we have some hard words to each other and we end up not being able to leave with the juice. We then go inform the manager because look anyone with a brain in there head will understand she needs to keep her blood sugar up while we travel from point A to B. But not this dude him and the bouncer both looked at us blank, the wanna be cop bouncer actually shrugged and said we don't make the rules we just enforce them. Long story summed up we sneak out the juice get my wife home and she's safe after some real food. But honestly this place sucks, it put my wife in a dangerous situation, it was a real helpless feeling knowing it was late and not many places open and we're traveling from out of town so we don't know the area well. read more

First of all, when you have someone call and ask what time you serve dinner till, make sure the lazy servers know what time that is. This review was for Friday night 12/8/23. After confirming they stop serving at 9pm, we decided to go for my friend from out of towns birthday. We came in approximately 7:45 we were seated in the back at a table in front of a bar that was not open, with a bunch of undesirable's lingering. We proceeded to order drinks and were already being rushed for our food order without any time to look over the menu or enjoy a cocktail. The female server then brought our drink order and of course my drink was not the way I ordered it and trust me when I say my order was not rocket science. We then order under pressure with no time to really take the menu in, and our food comes very fast, way before we can enjoy our drinks for a few minutes. We all ordered different items and 3 out of 5 of them were cold. The pot pie was the only thing we really enjoyed, but it was also only luke warm. Now with doggy bags coming and another round of drinks we finally were able to conversate for a minute or two before some guy that had a security shirt on that we nicknamed "Vin Weisel" telling us we have to go because of some shindig they had going on. So, after dropping $300 with tip, you mean to tell me we have to go at 9:42pm when Pappys is open until after midnight? WTF? Mind you there was nobody showing up for their little dance party but the pack of undesirables that were already there. So here comes Vin Weisel once again in a very rude manner trying to kick us out of our table once again. I told him to basically F off and instead of my cocktail in his face, cooler heads prevailed, and we left. Once outside we noticed a taco lady on the porch and not one person in line to come to their little backyard boogie. Another 10-15 minutes later minutes later and we would have left on our own and this review would not exist if Vin Weisel and his scarry five foot seven would have left us alone. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Very quick service, which was great, even though we were in no rush. Couldn't do much to call, based on the reviews, the manager and owner don't seem to care enough to resolve their issues and improve on better customer service and satisfaction. The Lamb Burger was too small for the bun and had way too much sugar in the onion jam which further ruined the flavor lacking burger. The French Dip looked way better than it tasted and like the LB it lacked in flavor too. On the bright side, the french fries were excellent. We will not plan to return.
