I personally enjoy the 0900AM breakfast club on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. I also enjoy the Zombies at 0530AM on Tuesday and Thursdays. The jiu jitsu curriculum is awesome. I enjoy the simplicity and options we get when I take class. The moves of the day builds on each other as the week progresses. You can roll until your heart's content at the end of class.  The gym is superbly clean. They have ghostbusters vacuum cleaners, alcohol spray to wipe your feet prior to getting onto the mat. I wish all gyms did this to keep feet and hands clean. Plenty of benches for parents to watch their kids. They have actual hand soap and paper towels in two individual bathrooms. Real fucking toilet paper. Changing rooms for both women and men with locker. There is even a separate room with mat space for privates.  The mat space is incredibly spacious with custom fuji mats. Cubbies for your belongings, a water filter station, and kettlebells.  The vibe of the community is very island vibes. Guam, Hawaii, Philippines and more. Make an effort to check out and you know what I mean.  The coaches are in it for life. There are so many black belts that are there you can learn from. Each with their own style. Want to compete? For a 4th degree black belt with decades of training he cares about training with new people even though he doesn't need to do that at all because already has many achievements in the sport. Life lessons of anti-bullying, social responsibility, and being a good citizen are discussed with the kids in here which is a huge bonus. The classes go at the right speed that doesn't intimidate or burn out my sons and encourages them while learning. There are advanced students here who probably compete or are looking to do that. My sons are athletic but not on the aggressive side and this dojo is perfect for them and all types of kids looking to learn and excel in this sport. I was only able to attend for a few months due to moving out of the area for a bit, but I can't wait to return when I have the chance. While I attended, the classes were structured as warm-up, then the day's lesson is given, and then you drill down the technique that was taught. The coaches will walk around and give you critiques and advice on how to improve as you practice with your partner. Some times this routine is switched up to focus on other areas, which keeps things fresh. Coming to this gym really helped build up my self confidence. I can't say enough good things about the staff (Coaches Aaron, Jay, Dianna) and people who attend here. Coach Aaron is a fantastic teacher and person, and knows his stuff. When I got to class early, he would be teaching the kids class, and he's really good at dealing with and teaching kids as well. The classmates I had were all friendly and supportive too. From day one, the instructors have each been welcoming and fair to all kids in the program. There is no question that the instructors all enjoy teaching jiujitsu to children of different skill levels and ages, it's definitely a passion of theirs and because of that, the kids safety and instruction is tailored to challenge each kid on an individual basis. As a parent, watching your children develop life skills, gain confidence, improve their fitness, respect others, enjoy competition, and have fun/laugh at the same time is all you can ask for - and that we get with every class we send our kids to. After entering the establishment, I was warmly greeted by the owner/operator/lead instructor, Mr. Dean WELLEN who is a well accomplished black belt currently under Ryron & Rener GRACIE of GRACIE UNIVERSITY. After introductions, I was given a gracious tour of the facilities where I immediately noticed how clean everything was, including the commode and changing area. While upon the mats, I was given fantastic, informative, as well as entertaining instruction by Mr. WELLEN who not only makes you feel at home and at ease, but he allows you to work thru problems and progress, while also making it a challenge to further your skills sets. In addition, the student base is extremely friendly and accommodating which goes to show how well the culture at the CTC has been fostered under the leadership and tutelage of Mr. WELLEN. We had an American kickboxing champion and a women's Olympic Taekwondo champion training there. The standard was high, the discipline was real, and the expectations pushed us to become better every single day. Master Ferrer was truly special. His leadership, patience, and passion for the art left a lasting impact on me. I trained in Taekwondo, kickboxing, and kali, five hours a day. It was demanding, exhausting, and sometimes painful, but I loved every moment of it. Those years were more than just training. They were about growth, character, and brotherhood. They taught me resilience, humility, and respect. These lessons stayed with me long after I left the mat.
