Great staff who was kind and always there to provide things such as condiments, water, etc. and the food was done perfectly with the fries being crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I wasn't terribly awed by this dining experience. We were in search of a place with "dungeness crab" on the menu, and they seemed to have a lot of reviews raving about a sandwich with it on the menu. We found it, split the meal and left satisfied... but man, it was expensive for a grilled cheese sandwich with a bit of crab meat thrown in! I don't know what else Sequim has to offer, but if I lived nearby I'd have to try the other places before settling on this one as the best of the bunch. I'd go to a 5 star if the salads and rolls were a bit more delicious. Our petite filets wrapped in bacon were perfectly done, baked potato also nicely done. Iceberg lettuce with one grape tomato and some crispy wonton on top with a basic white roll were not special enough to start a $26 streak dinner. pecan pie with icecream was very nice. Have tried this place twice for dinner. Poor food and bad service, other than that not bad. Last time I was with two other people. We all ordered the same thing. Fillets, they were ordered the same medium rare. Theirs were prepared properly, but were cold when served. Mine was raw, it was not fit for consumption. I think the cook forgot mine, threw it on the grill and served it when it got a little brown on the outside. read more

Definitely my very last resort. I better be starving and have no other option for food. VERY pricy for what you get (not much). Very dated restaurant, slow service and poor quality food. I wasn't impressed with the food here, because I am a bit of a food snob and prefer creatively presented foods with multicultural flair. However, if you are looking for basic, no-frills American food (a cup of Campbell's cream soup and a half-sandwich on standard white bread with a smear of mayo, served with Lays' potato chips), this might be the place for you. The price was a bit high for what we ordered, and the service was pretty slow considering the nature of the lunch we ate (mostly cold or steam-table items which I could have made faster myself at home), but we did come in at about 3pm, which is the dead hour for most lunch/dinner places. Wonderful restaurant. Lyn was our waitress. She is charming, attentive, polite, friendly. There were two other waiters attending to us as well. All of them wore (clean) white shirts, and were very nice. They made us feel like VIPs. The place is very very clean, and nicely furnished. The food is expensive, but we got good value for our money. No regrets about the cost. I had the veal scallopini, and my wife and her friend had the halibut. We were all perfectly satisfied, and content. We will return. If you've read this far, beware of the place, "Krush", on the corner of Old Olympic Highway and Sequim Dungeoness. They sell very disappointing bar food. Don't go there. read more

Our favorite restaurant in Sequim! Excellent food and service!

Perhaps our experience was out of the normal, but we weren't impressed. Not only is the interior dated and the lights low enough to make even me (perfect vision) squint at the menu, the prices were higher than what we had expected, especially from the outside. We decided it wasn't worth spending that much money on dinners all around, so we chose half salads instead. Two spinach and one shrimp louie. I had the shrimp louie and the shrimp where exceptionally salty, and I'm pretty certain, previously frozen. The spinach salad my mother got was salted prior to arriving at the table, and far too much! (My grandmother's salad was less salty-- but she also really, really loves salt, so...) The half salads where quite large, so while I didn't see or try anything else on the menu, I imagine they have large portion sizes. Still, for what we paid (10+ each) it was rather disappointing and a bit like what you could find prepackaged at a grocery store deli. read more

I was always wondering how this place was and, now I know Not to return as it wasn't good. I was hungry for a salad and I asked the gal who waited on me how big the Chef Salad was. She said - Oh it's big, pretty good size. So - needless to say I was anticipating the "typical" large sized chef salad most places serve..... When it arrived - I was disheartened - I've had side salads that were bigger than this was. About 10-12 pieces of lettuce, yes you could count them. An array of Very thinly sliced ham, turkey and some other meat on top. With 2 halves of tomato, a few black olives and few slivers of red onion and........ Tah Dah - that was it. No roll or crackers - nothing. And, for $11.95 I felt I hadn't gotten my money Or my appetite's worth for sure. If your looking for a big salad there's other venues in town that do have them - just not here. read more

Many people had recommended this restaurant to us so we finally gave it a try, unfortunately. My wife got the fish and chips, it was as if they were steamed instead of fried. There was literally NO crunch to them at all and she pulled all the soggy batter off and just ate a couple bites of the fish. I ordered the Ruben sandwich and the corned beef was mediocre and the sauerkraut was flavorless. There was a decent amount of meat on the sandwich, but hardly any sauerkraut. I ordered a lemonade and when I took a sip of it I had all sorts of grit in my mouth, I looked at the bottom of the glass and they used powdered lemonade. That's fine if you want to cheap out and use sub-par ingredients, but at least let the powder dissolve before you serve it to me. It's not as if the staff was overwhelmed, we were one of 2 couples in the entire restaurant, which should have been our biggest clue to walk out before we sat down. On a positive note the french fries were very good and the staff was attentive. We will not be going back. read more

Ate here a second time, for lunch rather than dinner. Disappointing. I order the crab & cheese sandwich, having never had Dungeness Crab! It was so-so. Not worth the $16 cost. Very generic lettuce-from-a-bag salad & small sandwich with fruit garnish. Couldn't taste the cheddar. My companion had Corned Beef. He said it was good but not worth the cost ($14 or $15) & he wasn't particularly full. There are better places to eat in Sequim & we will be going there. read more

We were there on a Sunday night with only 10 other patrons. This is an older joint so don't expect anything fancy but the food was good with large portions and a good kids menu. All-American menu with lots of seafood. The menu and decor feel like a trip back in time, but that can be a good thing, if it means baked potatoes and prime rib with pre-dinner green salads and warm bread. Both of us ordered seafood though -- the "special" halibut and chips featured superb halibut (it's halibut season) well prepared. I really enjoyed the seafood pasta, it was full with the usual seafood and a creamy, if thick, sauce. read more

We tried it for dinner with a larger party and I was super disappointed by the food and service. Simply put, the seafood wasn't worth the price. The shrimp were basic and oily, the potatoes tasted like they were instant, which I'm guessing they were, and completely salt less. The decor was really old fashioned as well, like from the 80's. Saw the sign seafood and steaks...we were excited...walked in to have a surly waitress great us. That did not bother me so much as the menu was mostly plain fare...not really much of a seafood selection considering it said SEAFOOD and steaks on their signage. Husband ordered the liver, bacon, and onions. He stated it was tough and thin. I ordered the cioppino...contained a lot of fish but was a big salty for my liking and used small imitation type shrimp instead of the normally large prawns we have become accustomed to living in the Northwest.....ironically, my child's chicken tenders and fries were really tasty...(wish I would have known that). For what we paid for dinner, this place was a huge disappointment considering the food was not worth the price due to its flavor (saltiness and shrimp), the toughness of the liver , with the exception of the child's menu chicken and fries, which was well priced. Great service and assortment of menu items.They'll bend over backwards to please and their food is good. We have only tried the meatloaf and fried prawn dinner the prawns are some of the best I have ever eaten, meatloaf is decent and a generous serving. their veggies,soups and potatoes are also good. They offer early bird specials and are a blessing to us Sunlander's as they're close and will prep food to go . Nice family owned business. Happy to have them here in Sequim. read more

Zero stars on this one. Quite possibly the blandest food I ever ate. Although my steak was done to perfection, there wasn't even a grain of salt on it for seasoning. Same goes for the rice. Perhaps they were catering to the crowd who might have high blood pressure, but the menu had no indication of a "Heart Healthy" or other alternate diet. The fish and chips looked like it either came out of a box or they decided that pancake wrapped fish was a good idea. I have never written a bad review before, so the fact that I am compelled to write this one really speaks volumes about my experience. read more

All 3 times that I have eaten here the food has been great. No it's not a gourmet restaurant,... Seriously C.G??? What it offers is a great variety of foods at a reasonable price. If you like home style comfort foods, this is your place. The service is quick, friendly and efficient. I plan on going back again when I am in town for business. read more
