Wontons were solid but a bit underwhelming. Cucumber really hit for me. Fried pork chop was kind of soggy to be honest. The pumpkin dessert was pretty delicious. Same with the salted egg yolk xlb. We recently came back to Paradise Dynasty for a quick lunch and the staff, especially Robert, took amazing care of us! We enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao, Fried Pork Chop, Crispy Sweet and Sour Cod Fish, Stir-fried Taiwanese Cabbage with Garlic, and Wonton Soup. Delicious find right at south coast. Attached to the Bloomingdale's. We made a 6pm reservation, empty ish when we got there but then a line formed around 630. Super kid friendly with high chair and utensils/plate etc for my toddler Service was attentive and quick. Although a "mall" restaurant - felt separate and detached. Sleek interior with QR code for menu and physical menus. Food was delicious and came out very fast. We tried the variety of order of soup dumplings. I visited Paradise Dynasty last night. I frequently visit this place because I don't like to wait for three hours at the other dumpling place inside the mall so I prefer to visit this one. My wife and kids love this place. We always eat the original dumplings. Sometimes we get the rainbow dumplings. Yesterday we got to try for the Collaboration of Burritos La Palma for their birria dumpling. We also ordered pork chop fried rice, black pepper steak, and we also had sweet and sour fish filet. We always get the cucumbers with garlic, the green beans and spinach for veggies. My kids love the chocolate filled panda buns and I always have a great experience here. The service is amazing and the ambiance is great. On weekends it might get a little busy but weeknights are pretty easy to get in. They have a great happy hour with a lot of menu items 40% off so I would recommend going to this place with friends. They are great at catering to large groups but yes I'm a fan of Paradise Dynasty and I will continue to keep coming back. read more

So many Asian restaurants at South Coast Plaza to choose from. We came close to opening time and it was nice and quiet still. We tried the sampler and an order of their original xiao long bao. You can watch the kitchen make them fresh through the windows. The sampler is really pretty and colorful and it was really fun to taste each of the flavors. I enjoy coming to this establishment when I'm at South Coast Plaza! There's actually not too many sitdown places to eat at South Coast and Din Fung legit had a 3-4 hr wait and I actually preferred this place more. Bar seating usually has no wait! I just wish the service was better. The staff are all really nice. I think it's just the culture here. They only provide a thin napkin and no utensils besides a chopstick and it's hard to grab someone's attention here for basic cutleries. Things I order: -wonton and chili sauce-it's more soy based than spicy, but they do have a separate chili oil on the side at each table. -chicken dumplings-good -kung pao chicken- don't order this! Super small portion. My friend and I tried Paradise Dynasty for the first time, and it was pretty good. Pretty comparable menu items to Din Tai Fung! Paradise Dynasty did seem a little bit less attentive to allergies than Din Tai Fung, or maybe that was just our server, but I feel like it's worth mentioning as someone with an allergy. I got the vegetable egg fried rice and the stir fried spinach which were both so tasty and gluten free! One negative thing that stood out though, was that one of the dishes that my friend ordered had been sitting at the counter for probably around 8ish minutes. I had a clear view of the window and watched multiple orders accumulating with no one coming by to run them so by the time my friend's noodles did come, they were no longer hot. Maybe they were short staffed this day so I don't want to be too harsh especially with all of the other positives. Thank god for their OC restaurant menu bc if we ordered the same amount of food it would've probably been so expensive. The menu is very identical to din tai fung but I want to say their serving size is a little more. I really liked their pork chop fried rice and their wonton in chili oil and their angus pepper beef. The sauce they make w their cold tofu was really good and flavorful. Their wait time here isn't as bad as DTF but still the same check in style (2 different check in points). To one of the last food adventures of 2025. While doing errands and waiting for some things to complete, we decided to cross off a bookmark and what a lucky pick it was! Paradise Dynasty got me quickly because of the rainbow dumplings. I needed to taste the flavors and it didn't disappoint. When the server/bar back realized it was our first time, he was like, "Don't worry, give me a quick second." He took my menu and returned it circling the orders that has been the most ordered or asked about. The funny thing, majority was circled haha. Hey, if you know the restaurant you work at has good food, why front about it? I'd be pretty damn proud too. Got the rainbow (a.k.a. The specialty dynasty), chilled tofu, dan dan noodles, stir fried garlic french beans, and the panda chocolate lava bun. Eyes were eating, tummies were happy, and every bite was better than the last. A pretty solid round up for a first time visit. The chilled tofu was my personal favorite! It was such a sharp contrast that was well paired to everything else we ordered. It was refreshingly and simply the perfect mix of umami. We sat at the bar because most tables were for larger parties than for just two very dressed down Sunday funday chill individuals stumbling in. A bit dark inside but very modern-scape. This is my first visit to Paradise Dynasty at South Coast Plaza. I was here down in the OC for work and I was looking for things to eat. I decided to stop in on a random weekday afternoon to try their viral soup dumplings. This is going to be mostly a rant: What kind of rubbed me the wrong way is I got here right towards the end of their happy hour pricing which was fine. The host was very clear that I didn't make that time cut off and didn't really care since I didn't know it was a thing until I got there. But with their virtual queue, you were able to see where you are in line. I was pretty much the first party right after the cutoff time because I could see myself progress all the way through to the top of the list but then stopped seating guests. At that time it was about 4:40 and so they waited until it was 5:00 to start seating people again. I didn't eat anything all day and I was hangry. I didn't mind paying the full price anyway and he was very clear about me not making that happy hour pricing anyway. I wanted to eat some food. I was very hungry and the fact that the community with his extra 20 minutes for whatever reason. I was not happy. I was dining solo so they seated at the bar. I wondered afterwards, if I could've just sat at the bar to begin with and not how to put up with their gamesmanship of making sure I didn't get discounted xlb. Anyway, they're a very popular store. There's going to be lines and a wait. Food was pretty good. Also got a the dan dan noodles. I think it was just very upset the entire time. I made a reservation for 2 on a Saturday at around 8:30 pm. Our plans wrapped up earlier so we came in earlier and the staff was able to accommodate with seating. We did need to check in on the right-hand line. Afterwards, we were advised to go to the second check in line on the left-hand side. During the second wait, we were given an order list to browse. This was great because we were able to hand our orders to the waiter right upon sitting down. Before coming to the store, my friend and I saw a lobster dish online that caught our interest. However, as we got here, we discovered it was part of their seasonal item. For our items, we decided on the garlic & butter lobster crispy noodle with cheese, which was the seasonal item until December 31st. We also got the sweet & sour baby pork ribs and (6 pc) taro paste xiao long bao. The noodles were crispy on the outer layers while the middle was a bit soggy from the sauce. It had a lot of flavor and couldn't help continuing to take another bite! The pork ribs had a good balance of sweet and sour, while not having an overwhelming amount of sauce. The XLB came over closer to when we were finishing up the noodles. With the first bite, you could tell they were using fresh taro! I have been meaning to go to Paradise Dynasty, which is a restaurant located inside the Collage Culinary Food Hall inside of Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza. It is Chinese food served in a modern, more upscale setting. I went here during their Heritage BBQ collaboration, which featured three China meets Texas BBQ dishes. We ordered Heritage BBQ pastry- 3 pieces for $13, Heritage Char Siu Fried Rice $23, Dan dan noodles with spicy peanut sauce- $12.50, and the Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao $20.75- a colorful spread of 8 different flavors of xiao long bao. The service was good and our server explained the Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao to us. I was worried the dan dan noodles would be too spicy. However, he assured us it would be fine. My favorite dish was the Heritage Char Siu Fried Rice- 5 stars. It was packed with so much flavor and balance. The Specialty Xiao Long Bao is interesting and pretty good, although I would not get it again. The dan dan noodles were good and not as spicy as they appeared. The food was a little overpriced for what it was. I would come back for all the xiao long bao collaborations. Such yummy food!! We came to celebrate Mother's Day and even though it was packed, service was amazing and the food came out fast and hot. Andre was especially great and attentive. He always made sure our waters were refilled, cleaned up our table, and was really fun to talk to. It was our first time here so he gave up some more recommendations for next time. My favorite was the garlic xiao long bao, Dan Dan noodles, salted egg xiao long bao, and assorted mochi. I thought the chili oil wonton was just okay but everything else made up for it. Make sure to get a reservation in open table or join the waitlist because it got busy. There were no restrooms inside the restaurant so you have to go downstairs but that was fine. We went for a late lunch to try out their lunch deal between 2:30-5PM, with a selection of dishes being 40% off. It wasn't too crowded and we got seated in 5-10 mins! This has been on my list to try for a while. Didn't realize they have happy hour here. 40% off a lot of the menu items. We tried the XLB, spicy wontons, cucumbers, garlic spinach, steamed dumplings, hot and sour soup and the XLB sampler. We had 10 dishes for only $117 during happy hour!! What a great deal! The food is just as good as Din Tai Fung. The XLB were all bursting with soup. The skin is just the right amount of thickness as well. While the XLB sampler was really pretty, I don't think I'd order that again. I felt the different flavors weren't as distinct as I would have liked. The service here was really good. Wow! The service here was so good I thought I was back on vacation overseas in asia lmao! I cannot rave enough about the service tonight. We got to our reservation 50 mins late because of a doctor in our group that had to work late. They still accommodated us even though they were last call in 25 minutes. Then, what proceeded was a small series of mishaps but it's the way they handled it that gives this place a 5 star. We ordered their signature pork xlb set and 2 of the colored xlb sets. That's what you're supposed to eat here, right? But unfortunately, somehow it never made it into their system (?) And later the manager (or so I'm guessing based on his suit) came over to say we couldn't be served a single xlb and that the kitchen now closed and they had tossed (!) All their remaining xlbs away already! Tbh I was a little shocked. They then brought out everything else we ordered (but also messed up on giving us two orders of panda buns - it somehow become one panda and one red bean). So I chalked it up to our fault coming late, sucks but I guess we can't do anything about the kitchen being in a rush to close and making mistakes. The manager did offer to replace the xlb with whatever they had remaining left (mainly wontons) and so we halfheartedly ordered two chili wontons (because our hearts were set on trying the xlb! Not chili wontons we could find anywhere else haha) However halfway through the meal, the manager came by with $40 worth of gift cards and said it was an apology for them messing up the xlbs. They could be used in two months and he said please come visit us again and to use it. I wasn't expecting anything tbh, so this was a very pleasant surprise! It encouraged me to want to drive back to CM all the way from Long Beach again in the future to finally try their colored xlbs. So we will definitely come back! (Also makes up a bit for the fact our friend just flew in from sf bay area to have his bday dinner here lol but it didn't work out perfectly for him). Throughout the meal, at least 3 people kept checking back on us with pleasant smiles and genuine demeanor- the waiter, and the hostess (who had a huge sweet smile), and the manager too. We felt like they were all so affable and willing to accommodate us and were very friendly despite it being closing time. They asked us if we needed extra things, even thoughtfully brought over extra plates and napkins for our lobster (without us asking for it), and were just peak customer service. They apologized for their mistakes, and also, since it was our friend's bday, they also wished him happy bday, and gave him a free dessert (mango pudding). When the bill came, I was further surprised. They didnt charge us for the rice, the replacement wonton dishes, the red bean buns they accidentally sent us, and another additional dessert (the glutinous red bean roll). Wow! On top of also gifting us $40 in credit. They basically comped us nicely for the unfortunate mishap and I was impressed by the way they handled this. Unlike another recent bday experience we had (you can read it in my reviews) at another restaurant, where the manager fought us over actual mistakes they made and food arriving improperly cooked, etc - this is what CS and restaurant management should look like!! Stellar job PD on your amazing staff. I'll definitely be back with friends. Ironically, the food was (frankly) a 3/5 for me. Desserts and drinks were fine but not stand out. The $90 lobster noodles was the biggest disappointment- the lobster tasted fishy (unfresh) and the noodles were bland. Same with the hot and sour soup noodles- extremely bland and lacking in flavor. The chili wontons and cucumbers, etc. Were also just fine - edible but I've had way better. Maybe it's because the kitchen was in a hurry to close... so when I come back next time, hopefully earlier, I'll see if the flavor improves. But for a famous Singapore chain, I guess I felt the cooking and flavor was pretty lackluster. But 5/5 service pulls this review up! Parking is great: this is located in a mall so plenty of parking. Had my first time dining at Paradise Dynasty and it was such a great experience. The host Hailey was very accommodating and found us a really good spot. Felix, the manager, was also very friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We ordered the original Xiao Long Bao and the 8-flavor Xiao Long Bao basket. Every flavor was good, but the standout for me was definitely the crab roe, followed by the cheese and truffle flavors. Those three were absolutely amazing. The pork chop fried rice was also really good -- the pork chop was tender and flavorful. The pan fried dumplings had a nice crispy crunch on the outside while still having a good amount of broth inside. For dessert, the salted egg yolk dessert was incredible and a perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant itself was clean, neat, and had a really nice atmosphere. While the food is fine overall, nothing truly stands out, and there isn't a single dish that feels memorable or worth waiting for. The braised pork was probably the best item we tried flavor-wise, but even then, there were still a few hairs present, which was disappointing at this price point. That said, the service here is good. The staff is attentive, polite, and professional, and their effort does help make up for how just okay the food is. In short, the food is decent but not special, the portions are tiny, and the value just isn't there. After facing a long wait at Din Tai Fung, I decided to finally give this place a try, and I'm so glad I did. It turned out to be a great dining experience . The food was the highlight. The 8-color Xiao Long Bao $20.75 , absolutely lived up to its reputation. Each dumpling was juicy, flavorful, and fun to compare with the variety of unique fillings. The only dish I found underwhelming was the Stir-fried Black Pepper Angus Beef with Basil $30.75 . For the portion size and flavor, I felt it was a bit overpriced and not particularly memorable. The ambience is modern, cozy, and welcoming , perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. The service was excellent as well. Our server, Viggo, was attentive, fast, and very professional, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. First time here. The place is super pretty and bling. Service is excellent, they check on you often. The restaurant is located inside Bloomingdale's so imagine the aesthetics. Food was meh. They get an extra star because the service and the place is nice but I would really come back for the food. $95 for these small portioned foods. read more

Ok I went back 4 years later at lunch time on Monday. The crazy line is gone and you can be seated quickly. It is outside Bloomingdale at South Coast Plaza, the the place is pretty decked out. We started with cold tree ears, it was crunchy and flavorful, really good. Then the braise pork belly come, they knocked this one out of the park, my wife's favorite dish. Melt in your mouth, you have to try it. The sautéed cabbage came out, it is done well with sliced garlic. The the buns. The house special buns, eight buns with eight flavor, their calling card. I saw a great review on Yelp so I went to try it on Sunday afternoon and there was no line. I think it's overhyped. We ordered stir fried noodle with pork, fried rice with pork chop, Xiao long bao , crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce but nothing really stood out. We asked our server if we needed to order using the paper checklist since it was our first time and we weren't sure. He said yes, but didn't offer any recommendations or guidance. After we placed our order, he came back and tried to get us to order more food, suggesting additional dishes. Long overdue review, I brought my mom and my aunt on Lunar new year for lunch. Knowing Din Tai Fung was around the corner we were not ready to wait 2-3 hours. So glad we came here though, Paradise Dynasty deserves their flowers as well. We ordered at least 40-50 dumplings, my wife was there too so we all went in. Ordered a good amount of different kinds of XLBs, pork, chicken, crab, etc. They were all super juicy and satisfied my cravings. We ordered 2 rounds of the speciality dynasty xlb's. The crab meat with roe, black truffle, and Szechuan stood out to me the most. Really juicy and great effort put together along with presentation. We each had the black sesame bun, highly recommend.
