My friend and I haven't been here since this place first opened! We are not from the area, so we were excited to eat it again. We came on Thursday evening, probably 1 hour before it closed, and we were seated immediately. It is such a huge contrast from the first time we went, when the wait was longer. You cannot compare this to din tai fung cause it is different. Here, you get different flavors of xiao long bao, and my friend and I always get the variety! What is also different about Paradise Dynasty is their massive drink menu! You can enjoy an espresso martini with your XLB. Service was quick, and our server, Jaybin, was very apologetic for the wait and how busy they are. My friend and I didn't mind and didn't feel like Jaybin ignored us or anything. We had a wonderful celebration dinner here at Paradise Dynasty!! We've eaten here several times over the past two years, but our latest visit was a truly delicious experience. Our server Hendry was super kind, friendly, and attentive. He offered excellent service! For our meal, we ordered our favorite XLB dumplings which includes the garlic and kimchi. Garlic remains my absolute favorite and I think it is a great introduction for a first time diner. The kimchi XLB might be more of a acquired taste for those unfamiliar with kimchi, but they offer an excellent tang. The fried green beans with minced pork were a deliciously salty appetizer. We also ordered some of the crab meat XLB. I was cautious at first since I've found these to be slightly bland in past visits, but thankfully found it to be much more sweet and flavorful during this dinner. Also much improved were the kurobata pork and shrimp dumplings, which we ordered in the thick chicken soup. The broth is a definite standout, but on past visits the kurobata pork dumplings have not been a consistent quality; One visit I found them gamey and quite unpleasant. But I'm happy to report they taste much improved and not gamey in the slightest this time! Overall, your mileage may vary but I found this dinner to be the best quality yet across the board. Paradise Dynasty seems to have stepped up their game and are offering a great dining experience. I'm also a big fan of their seasonal menus and special collaborations. I went when they had fall menu and a collab with Thai restaurant named Chiang Rai which is a Michelin Guide. The collab makes Tom Yum XLB (Thai x Chinese cuisine). It's very good, still have the flavor of XLB but a hint of spicy tom yum. The mango dessert in fall menu was extremely good. I can have it everyday without getting bored. Not sugary sweet but natural sweet, very high quality flavor! The lobster was also delicious. I think it's quite pricey but you do get a whole lobster. The wagyu wrap asparagus is so tender. We always have such a great experience here! The soup dumplings and radish pastry were absolutely delicious -- perfectly made and full of flavor. We also ordered the hot & sour soup, cucumber salad, and stir-fried rice with shrimp, and every dish came out fresh, hot, and well-balanced. The service was fast and friendly, which made the whole meal even better. We sat at the bar, and Steeve took amazing care of us. Honestly, you don't even need to look at the menu when he's around -- he can curate anything into a cocktail, and his drinks are sooo good! We got seated after a couple of minutes of waiting, and we ordered the following items: Xiao Long Bao - crab meat, pork, and pho: all outer wraps were perfectly steamed with the broth juice intact inside. The 3 fillings were nicely seasoned and quite flavorful. The pho XLB was good but the beef filling and broth did not really stand out compared to the pork or crab meat ones. Fried Rice with Pork Chop: the fried rice was nicely prepared and not overly oily. The seasoning was on the spot, and the pork chops were tender. I visited Paradise Dynasty on a Friday afternoon and was able to get a table in 45 minutes during happy hour. Considering how good the promotion is, I was shocked that it wasn't over an hour! I was met by my server who got me situated with drinks right away. Happy hour special drinks include hot sake, white or red wine, and saporro draft. We got to ordering immediately on the menu sheet provided. Our table had a great assortment of appetizers, dim sum, noodles, rice dishes, and of course, xiao long baos! I was lucky enough to try the beef pho XLB that they had on special. Notable dishes of the day included the garlic XLB, woodear mushrooms, stir fry shrimp noodles, string beans, and crispy dumplings. I did have some trouble this visit with my XLB popping in the steamer or when I grabbed them with my chopsticks. I had to carefully peel them away from the steamer paper and this seemed to work a bit better. Overall, it was a great dining experience if you aren't willing to wait for long lines at the mall. Definitely check in with the host before you do some shopping so you can get called back when your table is ready. Lunch with my friend the other day at Paradise Dynasty. We arrived about 1:15pm and didn't have a wait at all. Service was quick and efficient. Ordered the Original Xiao Long Bao, Pork Wonton in Chili Oil, fried rice with chicken, sauteed baby cabbage. All of the food came out fairly quickly and at a good temp. Very low noise level as it was a later lunch and there weren't too many people there. Dining area was very nice and spacious. I was very happy that they had white pepper available for me as many restaurants don't use white pepper. But for Chinese food, white pepper is way better than black. The fried rice with chicken had very little chicken in it. Which was a disappointment to me. But it was still tasty. The sauteed baby cabbage was semi-bland. But it wasn't bad. Paradise Dynasty does not disappoint. Every time I go, I just love the fried pork chop and rice dish - it is so good you may want several. It's even better than Din Tai Fung's! Their Xiao long bao come pretty close to DTF's depending on the day, and it's not a 2 hour wait lol! We've also enjoyed their stir fry noodle dishes, and even their dessert Xiao long baos. First time trying Paradise Dynasty and have heard the hype about this place. We were happily greeted and quickly seated since we had reservations. HINT: make reservation or expect to wait in a long line! The restaurant is inside the Bloomingdales at the mall. Its a simple restaurant w no frills. Service was great and our food arrived very quickly! We started off w a Lychee Kiss drink which was delicious. The lychee gave it a hint of sweet which paired well with the vodka. First to arrive was the Cucumbers which looked very similar to another restaurants cucumbers. But these were much better. The garlic and sauce that accompanied the cucumbers was perfect. Not overpowering but with plenty of taste. The Chinese spinach was delicious but a very small dish for the price. I would not order it again purely based on the price. Pork and Shrimp Chili Wontons were one of the best Ive had. The filling was layered with both flavors instead of just one flavor of the two mixed together in the filling. The perfectly cooked shrimp had a slight pop to them. The chili sauce was not spicy at all and the best chili sauce flavor I have tastes. I felt the wonton skin was slightly thick but overall a very good wonton. The Dan Dan Noodles were fresh and handmade. But lacked some flavor. I added the chili sauce to my noodles and it made the dish better. Next we tried the Soup Dumpling special with 8 different flavors. The Szechuan was not a flavor I would buy separately. I did not understand the flavor profile. The BBQ Pork was not at all what I expected. Although it was very good, it just wasnt Asian. I expected Char Sui type pork but it was American BBQ similar to Memphis Style. Very good on its own, but just not mixed in w other Asian flavors. Crabmeat w Row was good but unfortunately at the time, thought it was Kimchi and didn't realize until later it was crab row ha ha. Trying to go back to the taste later its unfair for me to judge it properly. I know it was good. The Garlic was a favorite. It had a creamy roasted garlic flavor. Yummmm Truffle was good w a hint of truffle but my guest thought it was a standout Kimchi was one of my standouts but guest disagreed ha ha. I love kimchi and it was definitely Kimchi flavor. Cheese was so so for me with cheese being hard and chunky inside. My guest enjoyed the cheese flavor. I felt the flavor was good after getting past the texture. Regular soup dumpling was easily the star of the dumplings. I would order the regular dumplings everytime I visit. They are easily one of the best soup dumplings Ive tasted. And in my opinion much better than their competitor! The highlight of the night for both of us was the Taro Dim Sum!!! I love Taro and this did not disappoint! Thick chewy sweet taro steam dumpling! I suggest anyone who likes Taro or wants dessert at Paradise Dynasty order this!!! I couldn't stop eating them!!! So good! All in all I do recommend every new to Dynasty try the 8 piece dumplings. 2 weeks ago in October, we drove to LA to see a concert and dropped by Orange County to meet some investment friends. We booked a table at Paradise Dynasty for lunch. It's a Shanghai Style restaurant in South Coast Plaza, a very nice restaurant, clean and the servers were extremely polite and attentive for a big table of 15 people. The parking lot is huge so there are plenty of parking spaces. This is the only restaurant that doesn't require anything to reserve a 15 people table. We ordered everything we see so we can try all. The soup dumplings with all flavors, they're very soft and the soups were very tasty. Spicy wontons which are not very spicy hot and delicious. The fried rice is extremely tasty. We had fun ordering and careless about the prices, actually they're very reasonable for the location. The vegetables are excellent, everyone gets to try almost every dish in the menu. Some are so good that we ordered multiple. It's actually a very nice restaurant with great food and services. The kungpow chicken to me is a little dry. I wouldn't order again. The beef was tender and tasty, we don't even remember what we ordered but as long as the food are gone then we know it's good. Mapo tofu is quite delicious with rice or chow mein. The portions are quite small, not as huge as many other restaurants, it's kinda like dimsum plates. Located in South Coast Plaza, plenty of parking. Definitely reserve a seat ahead of time, it gets busy. It's pretty crowded. I feel like a gold fish with the glass wall/window. But the atmosphere is cozy. For a party of 13, we were able to be seated within 5 minutes of arriving within our reservation time. As a first timer, plenty of food to choose from. We decided to try couple of food like, beef angus, sweet and sour fish, tofu, XLB pork, XLB chicken, chicken fried rice, noodles. I was disappointed for the portion size of the fried rice, $16 for a small serving. Is it good? Yes, it is. XLB were great, definitely delicious. The flavor of the heef was there, probably got overcooked just a little but as it became chewy. The tofu was great too, add their sauce and ginger. Yum! Overall, the food were great and delicious. I'll start this review by being honest and saying that the only reason why I came here was because the waitlist for Din Tai Fung was too long. So you can take this review with a grain of salt. I pretty much ordered little bit of everything shrimp fried rice, chow mein, xialongbao, spicy wontons, etc. You know the things I'm used to ordering at a place like this. I think because I had my heart set on Din Tai that this place just didn't do it for me. I think it's a great space, good for large parties and the service was good but the food was lacking flavor. I will say though it's a little cheaper. We ended up not liking the spicy wontons because they were a little bit vinegary for my taste and they were nice enough to take it off the check. I'd say the food here is cool but it just didn't scratch the itch for me and I probably wouldn't go here again unless I got an invite. I would still encourage you to try it though and taste it for yourself! read more

What exactly IS Paradise Dynasty? Think 'Din Tai Fung' (DTF) but cheaper (just by a bit). Located inside of the South Coast Plaza mall, Paradise Dynasty offers almost identical menu items that you'd find from DTF (noodles, rice, soups, vegetable dishes, and of course - dumplings) - but what really sets them apart? In my mind, it's the charcoal buns with salted egg yolk, and rainbow xiao long baos (XLBs) which are assorted flavors and colors. The service and restaurant ambiance of Paradise Dynasty is very good, and I'd say, on par with DTF. Our waiter was attentive to the entire group, but the food was incredibly slow to get out (at the time, the restaurant was only 1/4 full, although there was quite a bit of folks trickling in for dinner time by the time we were wrapping up dinner. Overall, great place to try and a good way to break up your DTF fix, you know, so you don't get sick of one place. :) read more

This spot is located on the top floor of the food court by Bloomingdale's in South Coast Plaza. Oh baby I am back again for round 10. Came today on a busy Mother's Day Sunday. I am so happy to see the manager John is here and spreading amazing hospitality. He was always there checking in on our food and giving amazing recommendations. I love him. Now the food, where do I even begin. Have heard about this place for a long time as a DTF alternative, but its line never seemed that much shorter than DTF so it took awhile before we had an opportunity to visit. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon, during the awkward between-meal times not on purpose. Turns out there was a weekday happy hour special going on where the dumplings and some other selected items were 40% off! This allowed us to go a bit crazy trying out different items. The waiter thought we ordered a lot of food, but we actually added more given that our kids were actually dumpling monsters lol. We tried what seemed like a special item: a pho-flavored Xiao long bao (xlb), which was very unique in taste. Our kids liked the cheese and pulled pork - the latter was a little strange for me. But then I really like the garlic one so it was fair we all found our favorites! read more
