I had the Char Bacon burger and it was One of the best burgers I have ever had fully juicy and delicious. The triple layer fries were also insanely good with chedder, Bacon, and Sour Cream mad the whole ensemble out of this world. The only thing I missed out was on the milkshakes because their machines were broken and I was really looking forward to them. This place is definitely worth the waiting in line that you will get on most warm/cool summer days. Good Luck with Parking though. read more

Yum, super yum.... They have one of the best burgers, and I love burgers. Great bun, great shakes, great burgers, juicy, big and worth every penny. I've been coming here for years and they STILL do a great product every day. I love this family and they are all so nice and friendly when you come in. The chicken sandwiches are also tasty and I love the spicy fries. They have something for everyone here, but the lines are long and don't be surprised if you have a wait around the building. Paradise Pup is a nice little place that has been featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Drives and definitely deserves it. The Chicago style food is awesome and the wait time is not too bad. It can be a bit pricey and because of the popularity of it there can sometimes be long lines. All in all it is a great place for lunch. read more

Didn't think dogs could get any better, but then I came here. Close to Rosemont and Park Ridge and conveniently located on S. River Rd. I had a dog and a tamale, my friend had the same and my son had a loaded up burger. We all commented that even though there is a line out the door, the order taker was VERY patient and we got exactly what we ordered! Also got fries, shakes and soda. WAY too much, but hard to resist. There is a big problem with Paradise Pup ... the place is too darn crowded. Of course, that is for good reason, the place is awesome. I am amazed for a place that is so packed, with the pressure to get food out so quickly, that they have never made a mistake on my order, and have really friendly people at the counter. The food ... wow! For a small place they offer a lot of different combinations of things. You would expect that this slows them down, but I am repeatedly amazed at how quickly they get food out given the volume of business that they have. I typically get a burger on dark rye bread, and that is heavenly! Being a native of the South Side where there are a lot more places like this, most north side places are too bland to survive down South. This place would make it. read more

Probably one of the most underrated burger joints in all of Chicagoland. Andrew Zimmern endorses this place, you can see his review and autograph by the cash register. It's a small shack, and the lunch rush line is similar to a girl's bathroom line. They're buns are so soft and the burger is just perfect. Very good burger when smothered with Merkts cheddar on Rye. Many people don't like spreadable cheddar, but if you do this is one of the best burgers in Chicagoland. I have had better fries, though. Just got back from lunch at this great roadside diner today (I learned about it from Food Network). I expected long lines so I got there at 11:20am. Two minute wait to take my order. 5 minute wait for the food. My timing was good so I found a place to eat at the bar stool and counter inside the place. I had the Italian Roast Beef sandwich with sweet peppers, a small fries and Coke. The sandwich was terrific. Tender meat, great seasoning. Delicious. I liked the crinkly fries as well. I'm definitely going back to try their burger and hotdog sometime. You can count me as a fan! read more

Was told that this little hamburger stand was a must try while in Chicago and after having been, I would agree. This is a small, very small, hamburger stand that only accepts cash and for that I wanted to knock off a star, but that would be silly because the burgers are that good. I had a double bacon cheddar burger with fries. The burger was charred to a medium and was very juicy. The bacon was plentiful and the Merkt's cheddar was delicious. The double is a no joke size and the thickness of the patties are quite a bit bigger than any other burger joint I have been to. The crinkle cut fries, my favorite kind, were also very good. The only thing that would make this place better would be a bigger location with comfortable seating and a credit card machine. read more
