Had a horrible experience here for Fathers Day. 1st: the steak frites was soooo tough to the point that it was hard to chew and swallow. The fact that my mom had a bite and said that her tooth was aching after trying to chew it says a lot. I pointed it out to the waiter and he tried saying that a bavette is on the tougher side. Which, I've had many Bavettes in my life and none have been that hard to chew/swallow. The fact that yall are comfortable enough to serve this type of quality of food says a lot about the establishment. 2nd: we ordered the hummus trip as an app. We saw it sitting on the counter for a while with flies buzzing around it the WHOLE time and the audacity of the server to bring it to our table after it was swarmed by flies is so disappointing. ALSO. To mention that we were getting swarmed by flies the whole time we were dining there. 3rd: as everyone is almost done eating, my sister and her boyfriend STILL haven't received their pizza they ordered as their main course. We then asked for the check and the waiter said that the pizza has been sitting out so it's cold now and they want to make another pizza to put in as to-go so that just added on probably another 35 mins even though we are obviously trying to leave. 4th: the booth seat was wet when we got sat at the table. 5th: my sister mentioned her stomach is now aching after eating the hummus. After mentioning our problems with the waiter, the steak bavette, pizza and hummus was taken off our bill which was appreciated. We use to come here for the steak frites (used to be good) idk what happened. Maybe they got a new chef or it was a REALLY off day for the kitchen staff. But we will not be returning to this establishment again. 3.5- we stopped in for dinner about 5:15. I looked at the menu, and I wasn't excited. We started with the hummus which was tasty; the pita was good too. We also tried the potato tostones which was really good even though the caviar tasted like nothing. They aren't true tostones, so I'm not sure why they call them that. They aren't flat; they are barely smashed. I liked them the way they prepared them inspire of what I was expecting. Oh the hummus also comes with cucumber, celery, and carrots. Went again recently for a birthday of a friend. Otherwise we would have avoided it. Food was ice cold and under seasoned and the hosts were SO rude to the party. I genuinely don't know why people are putting up with the attitude of this place. It's gorgeous inside. Totally instagrammable. Be careful when making reservations here that they actually have them listed I called to make a reservation then received a confirmation email or text. I called to make sure I had the table since I had no confirmation. They said they did not have it and they do not do same day reservations (which is totally okay normally). I let them know the exact time I spoke with their colleague to make the reservation and they stated that was the morning staff and they could do nothing about it. Very upsetting as I was in charge of plans, and to no fault of my own then had no reservation. The person I talked to said it was the morning persons fault which doesn't help me at all because I'm out of a reservation regardless and as colleagues they should try to rectify the situation. I do like the food here, but this was just not a good experience when you expect to have a reservation so just be careful and make sure you get a confirmation right away. read more

Good drinks, but I would skip the pizza. Not sure what was happening when we came in, but only the pizza and drink menu were available to order. That's fine. We got two cocktails: the Same Same But Different and If Purple & Lilac. Both were great. For pizzas we ordered the Mortadella and the Pork & Pear. We substituted mushroom for pork since my friend isn't too big of a fan. The Mortadella was fine, but I really had a problem with the other pizza. The pear was chopped into huge pieces and looked like it was thrown onto the pizza AFTER cooking. I love pear on pizza but only if it is thinly sliced and not raw. Both pizzas were also burned at the bottom. We ended up not finishing either. The interior is very trendy and cute. If you are looking for an instagrammable place to gets drinks at, look no further. Amazing new addition to Bishop Arts! Ambience- this is one of the biggest selling points to this spot. Indoors is more of a big city hip/modern brunch feel, and outdoors is a huge patio with a boho vibe. Given the covid times, we sat on the patio and there were portable heaters for each table which kept us feelin nice and cozy throughout our lunch. Music line up was also on point and perfect for a boozy Sunday funday. In terms of safety aspect of things for covid, the inside is definitely busy on the weekend to the point where I would only feel comfortable sitting outdoors. Service- our server was fantastic and super friendly. We had an issue with our food taking quite awhile to come out, but when we raised this concern to our server he was sure to inform the manager who promptly came and addressed this. Food- FANTASTIC. Every item was made to perfection. Oysters (east coast from cape hatteras) were excellent, grilled cheese was crispy and oozing with gruyere/provolone, and the couscous salad was refreshingly light and fresh- one of the the best salads I've ever had. I finally was able to try this place! We were touring a venue in Oak Cliff and met with my parents here. We started out with some drinks. My mom and stepdad got the same same but different and I got the if purple & lilac. Mine had a serious kick, I got goosebumps with the first sip. I preferred the same same but different because it was more refreshing so my stepdad switched with me. We ordered fried artichokes to start. They came out at the right temperature. The dipping sauce was interesting. It was a lemon ricotta dip, it was good. We ordered three different pizzas as our entrees. My mom ordered the soppressata, my fiancé ordered the vegetarian, and I ordered the pork & pear. My pizza was very good. I love sweet and savory so this was right up my alley. The pork was tender and very flavorful. The pears were soft and gave the pizza a good balance. I tried a piece of my moms soppressata and it was good as well. My fiancé's pizza was good too. We came to Paradiso after finally caving in for a birthday dinner. It has always been on our radar but we were too afraid to try it incase it didn't live up to the hype we had built in our heads. For a fair review, I will only review what I ate and not what the party ate. Fried artichoke: 4-5. It was very good with a nice cheese dip to accompany it. It did taste a little salty but still good nonetheless. Beef tenderloin: 5/5. The most expensive entree on the dinner menu but worth the try. It had a good serving size and the steak itself was flavorful. Highly recommend! Steak frites: 5/5. Big portion size and flavorful steak. I think this may be slightly better than the beef tenderloin but to each their own. Overall: definitely recommend this restaurant. We've been wanting to try this restaurant for a few months now. We decided to go one evening as a continuation of our date night. The environment/atmosphere is very nice & eclectic. We sat on the patio since it was nice out that day. The staff was friendly & welcoming. Not sure if it's due to COVID but the menu is pretty limited or at least it seems that way. Was a beautiful day outside and my husband and I thought we would come and see about enjoying some oysters and a glass of wine. I brought my pet with me in an enclosed carrier - there was no hostess to help us outside in the patio- sign says you have to go inside to see hostess. My husband and I went inside and immediately one of the girls at the front runs to the back while we look at a menu. As we are about to ask for a seat outside, up walks the manager with the girl - not greet us, not welcome us and help us be seated, but to inform me of their policy to no pets. Now the pet policy- I both totally understand and have no issue with. But the treatment and unfriendliness was just so off putting we immediately took our business elsewhere. It's obvious this is not a neighborhood business but a corporate giant in a neighborhood. I'll be spending my money and supporting friendly businesses elsewhere in Bishop Arts. read more
