My significant other and I came here on a Monday night for a date night! We had no reservation and got here around 7pm and were seated immediately! The interior was nice, it felt very classy and kinda old timey? but i loved it and they also had little bag stands you can ask for, for the girlies who would like to hang their bags! so cute! Our server, Andrea, was very nice and attentive! She came around and checked up on us multiple times and recommended a few items on the menu that we might enjoy and she was able to answer all of our questions! Thank you Andrea for having such good energy and providing a good experience! We got: - Foccacia bread: I wasn't sure if I liked this bread or not at first, there was an herb in it that I couldn't identify but it reminded me of vietnamese pho! I ended up enjoying it and I really liked the side cheese with it. My s/o didn't really care for it and I do wish it came out warm! That would have made it ten times better. - Affrogato: My cute s/o didn't realize that affrogato is coffee and vanilla ice cream and we both aren't the biggest coffee drinkers at all so we both personally enjoyed the ice cream more then with the coffee I got: - Short Rib Raviloli: This was tonight's special menu and I was so glad I got it! It was super good, packed with flavor, and not too heavy and the sauce that was all over the plate was good! My s/o got: - New York Steak: He gave me a bite of the steak and what can i say? it was a perfectly cooked and seasoned steak and he enjoyed it too It was a perfect start to our date night and I definitely want to come back during the day time because the outside looks gorgeous!!

First time at Paragarys! Love the lowlit, romantic ambience. Indoor and outdoor! The holiday decorations were so fun. Cocktails were delicious and refreshing! Was hoping for some sweet holiday themed ones tho! I believe our server's name was Lamar? I'm not sure but he was so great! So hospitable and helpful. Truly great. Started off so strong with the mussels omg so good that broth!!! The mac and cheese, broccolini and pizza yum!!! Was hoping for the pizza to have a sauce though I don't believe it did. Enjoyed the wine list! And our server helped me out with tasters! That dessert was truly the most special thing I had, I think about it all the time. Fudge and honeycomb and delicious ice cream. Something really special in that oh my!!

This place is great for weekend brunch. It's been a while since I've been to Bacon & Butter, but I think the brunch here is just as tasty. Which is to say that it's among the best in town. There's no parking lot, so you need to find somewhere to park on the street. The restaurant itself wasn't busy when I arrived at 10a. And it didn't seem busy when I left either. They can accommodate large parties. - drip coffee: solid coffee - Pumpkin French toast: this was fantastic. It was nice and light. Not greasy at all. Not overly sweet. This is what I want when I order French toast. Probably among the best I've had. - Breakfast burrito: very enjoyable. Classic flavors done well. Nice and filling. - breakfast potatoes: these are served with many of the dishes (including inside the breakfast burrito). Delightfully crispy in the outside while creamy on the inside. Yummy seasoned salt. - bacon: I had a strip of bacon and it's good! Yes, bacon is always good, but despite its ordinary appearance, it was light and crispy even though I thought it was going to be a lot more chewy. I saw some complaints on other reviews about the speed of service. I was with a large party and was chatting away so I wasn't in a rush. I don't recall the food taking an unusually long amount of time. And our waiter checked on us at least twice while we were eating. The interior is nice. It has kind of an old timey ambiance in a good way. it's classy and clean. I'll definitely return for brunch. And I'm now very interested in dinner. The only question I have on my mind for brunch is whether I stray from the excellent dishes I already, or is I stick with the tried and true.

I've always heard of Paragary's but never got around to going until now. I was hesitant because I dislike difficult street parking, especially on the weekend. Thankfully, I was able to snag a spot in the small free parking lot across the street. My friends ended up having to find street parking a little ways down, even early at 10:30 a.m. We had brunch reservations, which you can easily make online via OpenTable. My first impression was how cute and vibey the restaurant is, even more so in the back outdoor area. I loved all the greenery, waterfall fountains, and the fireplace. It's a very pretty spot for brunch, and the outdoor heating lamps make it cozy on a chilly morning. I also appreciated the bag hooks at every table. Service was excellent. Our server checked on us at all the right times, and we never felt rushed. Our drinks didn't all arrive at the same time, but at least our food did. I had a peach bellini and had no complaints. For food, I ordered my usual eggs benedict, which I like to get at any brunch spot. It was good and standard, tasting as expected. What would make me want to come back is to enjoy the outdoor seating again, though I am not sure I would go out of my way to return because of the parking and for average breakfast food, which didn't quite feel worth the price. Or maybe come back to try lunch or dinner. Regardless, it is a nice restaurant and a chill place for brunch with girlfriends.

WHAT WE GOT: Hand cut Rose Mary Pappardelle, Muscovy Duck Leg Confit, Oven roasted meatballs. I had the pappardelle last time and was tempted to try something new but so glad i didn't! It was good with the pancetta and artichoke! A balanced and filling meal. No notes! My Fiance got the Duck, it was very tender no need for a knife. The Apples were a nice touch. He did say something about the wild rice had an odd after taste, but to each their own. Overall very satisfied with our choices. AMBIANCE/SERVICE: Very romantic! candlelit made it extra intimate. We always love the service, very kind waitress, i believe her name was Leah/Lea. I will say our food did take a while to come out but it was a Friday night at 8PM. I would recommend a reservation for Fri/Saturdays. Parking is limited so accommodate time to find parking. Spent about $107, including a glass of wine.

Visited on a Sunday morning for brunch! No wait and we were sat outside for our first time! The ambiance was nice! It's a must to sit outside for the experience. In terms of food. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and we had almond cake to start. The seasonal scramble came with potatoes and sourdough bread alongside some bacon. My bf ordered steak and eggs that's also came with potatoes! Service was great. Sweet staff. Food was yummy as well. I think the potatoes were my favorite thing and the jam for the sourdough was sooo good. I'd want to come here and try dinner for sure! Come here if you haven't yet

Beautiful restaurant but patio seating cannot be reserved. First come basis. Loved how the food wasn't overly seasoned. It's how I like it so it was perfect and can't wait to come back. The chicken was so moist and tasty! Loved the fettuccine with sea urchin pasta. Our server was attentive and kind. We had a great time.

Service: great, wonderful server Food: I wasn't impressed and it was overpriced for the portion sizes Focaccia - the stracciatella cheese on the side was wonderful! The flaky salt was sprinkled unevenly and excessively on the bread, so I got mouthfuls of salt. That wasn't pleasant. Lamb Ragu - I was expecting something richer since ragu is typically a rich, slow-cooked, meat-based sauce. The sauce was more of a soup, very liquid-y, almost like broth. It had an ok amount of flavor, probably the best compared to the rest of the dishes we tried. Sea urchin pasta: This one was quite bland Not pictured: lemon ravioli that my sister ordered. First thought was "wow there's 6, how is that an entree?" drink: can't go wrong with alcohol!

Huge disappointment. Service was crap, food was bland. Servers were not attentive at all. We ordered 4 mains and paid $300... not worth it all. Only thing they got going for them is that they are aesthetically nice to look at. Also, the chicken dish I ordered was so bland u had to add salt and pepper myself for some flavor. Honestly wish we had gone to Olive Garden instead. They're always 10/10 in every aspect! Save your money and time, don't go here.

We've come for dinner before and wanted to check out their weekend brunch! The vibes are great as always, the staff is so nice. Reservations were easy to make on OpenTable and the waitress even double checked allergens that were on my profile. Parking was pretty easy; Paragary's is in Midtown so sometimes you have to search for a spot, but today the weather was great and we parked on the street two blocks away. There are parking garages that are closer but we didn't mind the walk. The savory and sweet options were delicious, we had egg scramble with potatoes, huevos rancheros, orange cardamom French toast, and the lemon ricotta pancake. Loved their cappuccino as well. I'm vegetarian and they had lots of options and were able to make substitutions. We will definitely be back to try the garden patio in the spring! Overall perfect for a casual or special occasion. We saw a table setting up for a galentine's event which looked pretty cute!

Heard so many good things about this restaurant and wanted to take my friend out for a cute birthday dinner, but I think it was a miss :( Appetizers: * Wood oven roasted mussels ($20) 5/5 - Favorite thing we ate! The garlic lemon butter white wine sauce was divine. Loved having the lightly buttered toast to soak up the sauce! * Oven roasted meatballs ($17) 3.5/5 - meatballs were nice and fluffy. I personally do not like that much ricotta but my friend does, so he really enjoyed it Appetizer (remix) * Prosciutto & taleggio pizza ($22) 4/5 - niceeeee large slices of prosciutto! Can never go wrong with a prosciutto and arugula pairing tbh. -1 point because the center of the pizza was a tad soggy. Could probably benefit from being baked a lil longer! Entrees: * Fettuccine & Santa Barbara sea urchin pasta ($30) 2/5 - this was majorly disappointing :( it seemed like this was prepped first and left out to dry because there was very little sauce and the pasta was all glooped together. I liked the flavor of the uni and the sauce but there was soooo little of it * Hand-cut rosemary pappardelle ($28) 3.5/5 - nice and creamy! The hand cut pasta had a great texture and it held the sauce well. I liked the flavor of the leek/artichoke/cream sauce but the chicken was pan-seared too much that it was dryyyyyyyy Drinks: * Paragary's '83 ($15.50) 4/5 - nice and refreshing to sip * Spicy blood orange margarita ($16.50) 3.5/5 - a little too sweet for me * Cabin in the woods ($16.50) - a little too manly for me LOL * Porchlight 'Lazer Blowfish' Hazy IPA ($9) - standard beer, ordered it to feel a buzz lol Service was great! Our server was friendly, timed out our courses, and took photos for us at the end of the night. I looove the patio dining and I think it's such a cute place for a date or a special event meal, so I hope future visits would be better!

First time visiting. Stopped in on a Thursday after seeing a play at Broadway Sacramento…read more We tried a wide variety of small plates to share. The fare is Mediterranean inspired in a classy mid-town vibe. THE PROS: Wonderful ambiance. Our server, Ferzan, was top notch, both with her service and suggestions. Upscale casual with lots of high end touches. Live jazz and some classic style harp music the evening we were there. We each had a cocktail, split about small plates, and did a dessert. There was not a bad dish in the bunch, but my wife and I agreed the stand-out was the Filet Mignon skewers. Delicious. Cooked perfectly with a wonderful parsley/onion garnish that made an amazing flavor combination. THE CONS: Only a few very minor things come to mind: The shrimp dish, while quite tasty, was a bit salty. A couple FYIs: The lighting, while it made for nice atmosphere, is a bit on the dim side for menu reading. Also, their fresh baked bread is wonderful, but it would be a real plus if it was complementary, because it really goes great with their food and dips. More is better. And to me this one's a head scratcher... in the dining room with moody lighting and classy music they had a big screen tv with ESPN on the whole time. To be fair, the sound was off, but if you were there to watch sports, they have a nice bar with two other screens in there. It was totally out of place in the main dining room. BOTTOM LINE: Yes. Absolutely Yes. It is great for date-night, or any other night when you want a comfortable high end dining experience. PRICE: Items range from about $20-$50 each. Our total was about $150

From the anchovy toast to the arancini to the pasta, it's all seasonally influenced and prepared with skill and care. The cocktails are great - if you like whiskey, try the Port of Rye. Magpie's also a very good option for vegetarians as there are always plenty of creative meatless options on the menu. Service has been uniformly very good for us. So why not five stars? Two reasons. The first is the noise. WHAT'S THAT? YOU CAN'T HEAR ME? I SAID IT'S THE NOISE!!! Of course, Magpie is hardly the only place in town in which you can barely hear yourself think through a meal, but it's a major strike against them. You're having a wonderful meal with good friends, but conversation is a problem, and that's a really big issue. Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to take it down a bunch of decibels by hanging some stuff off the ceiling? Anyway, it's way too loud in there. Second issue is the wine-by-the-glass list. Come on, Magpie, this is Northern California! While they get credit for spotlighting folks like Craig Haarmeyer on this list, it's ridiculous to have only three red wines on it. So a few less decibels and a few more wines by the glass and this place would be damn near perfect.

What's frustrating isn't just the selection, but the missed potential. Not one veggie sandwich option. The stuffed peppers could easily have a meatless version; the Brussels sprouts didn't need bacon; the farmers market salad could offer prosciutto as an add-on rather than a default. Small tweaks, big difference. A little more intentionality here would go a long way.
