I've gone to this location since My Big Fat Gyros started. Then it improved with Simple Greek. Both were the best Gyros in the area With Parea the quality and portions have gone way down. Most people don't mind paying $8.00 for a gyro but when the pita is over cooked and the gyro meat is so little that you can fold the pita like a taco. After 3 chances and getting the same food quality and portions I need to find another gyro restaurant. read more

In terms of taste and portion size, definitely my go to spot. Been going here on and off for about 10 years, and generally 4 out of 5 visits are very satisfying. Recently however, they no longer pick up the phone to take phone orders, which is a bit annoying. Also seems they may be struggling in the hiring of personnel; relative to the workers that used to be there, I've noticed a few of the employees could use some training in terms of just professionalism in the workplace, and kitchen basics like cleanliness and customer interaction. All in all, still my favorite gyro around. If you don't mind occasionally waiting 30 minutes (they seem to be severely understaffed during high traffic times) and lower your expectations in terms of the customer experience, you're almost always guaranteed a delicious gyro that will fill you up (like I said, great portion size and value for the price). read more

I've been here when it was simple Greek? I just came back last weekend. The food is way better and the portions are way bigger. I do enjoy this place very much, parking can be a little bit of trouble since it's not a large parking lot but other than that, this place is delicious! I love that they use red onions and they slice the onions vs dicing I hate that in gyros. Their sauce is so good too! read more

What to do for dinner Tonight ? On my way home from work we decided to get Gyros for dinner. The place change hands again. It was very good, fresh veggies and the gryo meat was on point ! The pita's had good taste as well. The only reason for the 4 star is I thought it was a little pricey per item. However I plan on returning bc it was Great food and on my way home. It's extremely hard to find a decent gyro in the south hills , but I had tried this place about 2 years ago with a friend, so my wife says she was really in the mood for a gyro and called a couple places close to us both were closed . So I suggested Parea , she had never tried there before but knew of it , so she called and ordered , three gyros, stuffed grape leaves, and fries . I'll start with the fries , absolutely delicious, the kind of fries you used to get at a really good country fair , the grape leaves are always a gamble, I'm not Greek I have best friends that are , but I'm guessing grape leaves are one of the things that every family makes a little different, so depending on what you like or are familiar with will make the decision for you , I personally enjoyed them tender and just the right amount of seasoning, the gyro was outstanding not over loaded but not empty , the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection, as I write this I am thinking where dinner is going to be tomorrow, if your nearby you really need to give them a try , you will not be disappointed. read more

This use to be my favorite place to eat. The owner and I were on first name basis because I was there so much! It changed names a million times and went down hill. They burned my pita, the customer service was so awful, and it lacked flavor. The grilled chicken gyro was "eh ok", the location of this place is just awesome. But owe the customer service was horrid. There was 2 young girls working, neither looked happy. The girl working the register had an over sized steeled T-shirt on and it looked like she was not even wearing pants. I stated the last time I was in it was not good and I would like to give it another shot, she basically rolled her eyes and said "yeah so..... what can I get you". I said I went online and they were suppose to send me a coupon for 25% off and never got it , again she looked at me blankly and said I don't know. Last night we just had the worst customer service from the owner of a business that my family has been loyal to for years. We placed an order for pick up. While placing my order the girl was distracted multiple times. No big deal I finally gave my order after repeating it. My daughter picked it up and when she got home there was no chicken on the salads. My daughter called and was told to come pick it up and she would be charged. I took the phone and was spoken to so rudely by the owner. She continued to tell me that I didn't order right. Remember I said she kept talking to others while I placed my order??? Regardless, the she kept asking are you going to pick this up and pay? And next time order "Greek" chicken salad. I said my daughter is coming and there won't be a next time. She would not give my daughter the chicken when she arrived. So a business I have supported since I moved to peters 18 years ago is now off my list. Btw no gloves or mask worn. I am very understanding of mistakes, understaffed, bad day. I am not accepting of being treated so poorly! read more

This is my first time at this gyro shop and I am loving it! It has a very mom and pop feel. I am still sitting here and have seen a few customers come in; some are new and some have been regulars. The employees have been very welcoming, and have asked the repeat customers if they are having their regular orders, addressing them by their first name. I worked in hospitality for a long time; those little details are very important and impressive to me! Not to mention, it was more than just your average gyro! As someone who has grown up in a Greek Family, Parea Gyros cuisine is as authentic as it comes. I would have to wait months for a Greek food festival to satisfy my Mediterranean cravings until I found this little piece of Greece in Pittsburgh.
