The almond croissant was nice and flaky yet still buttery inside, and the almond filling was lovely. However my favorite was definitely the rolled croissant, the hazelnut creme inside was so light and creamy and when taken in a bite with the croissant and chocolate shell coating was heavenly. They had so many other options that looked incredible, in particular if I came back I would definitely want to try the vegan kouign amann. The inside is cute and has a small amount of seating, however the place is quite busy and fills up very fast. Me and my friend were lucky to get there early and be able to claim a table, and so they plated the pastries for us quite nicely and heated up her pizza croissant. Everyone we interacted with was lovely. This place is actually perfection I cannot recommend enough.

I would say after you're no longer using it - it should go back into the fridge. By the time we ordered they ran out of their Banana special pastries and several other pastry options. Even the dessert case was minimal. They didn't have banana cold foam or chocolate cold foam either. I ended up not buying any pastries and ordering an Iced Orange Blossom & Apricot Latte with Whole Milk. I don't mind if it takes a while to make the drink as long as the quality is there. It was very milky and the orange blossom portion tasted straight up artificial -- like an extract or something. Initially, I thought it would be like an orange blossom honey. But I don't think it was. And the apricot purée at the bottom looked beautiful, but the texture of it was not good. I tasted "dried" bits and also the skin of the apricot. It was gritty and overall, not very nice in the mouth. I think if they were to make this into a jam or blend the apricots sans skin, it would be better. Couldn't really taste espresso, not worth the money. This next part is just a note for customers, they have a section that states "empty plates." Something I kept noticing was that people stacked their trash on the plates as well-- this limited the ability for the workers to nicely stack them to bring it to the back to wash. There's a trash can inside the patisserie, and it's not that difficult to throw your napkins, straws, and utensils away. In addition, another note would be that perhaps they can add a little square dish for the stacked paper cups to rest upon. That way the last cup, whose rim is touching the metal counter, doesn't come in contact with the trash can lid. This would be so it's kept at an elevated area! Overall, today was very chaotic. Despite that the workers were actually very kind and working hard! They remembered names and had great manners. They didn't seem to be frustrated towards us, just a little overwhelmed. The owner came from the back to help clean up tables and then bring pastries and drinks out. Which was very kind of him! They have a handful of seating inside and a good amount outside as well. I hope they can work out having enough pastries to last before closing. I have came here before and been to a few of their farmers market stalls, they do great pastries! Today was just a bit of a miss. I'll come back on another day for sure. I still want to give that banana cold foam on a latte a try, perhaps I'll request less milk. The pastry that interested me was the Banana Salted Caramel Crookie, for the textures & the combination sounded really good!

Both pastries were pretty dry and did not taste very fresh. The top of the lemon bar was good but the cookie base was very dry and hard. The PB Brownie was really sweet and similar to the lemon bar, the top was good, but the base was hard. My husband liked the brownie bar but said it tasted a few days old. We had taken the pastries with us to enjoy once we got home. Although edible, I don't think I would order that again. I would have preferred to try their croissant style pastries but we were limited when we visited around noon. Maybe they had better, fresher options earlier in the day. This is my first in San Diego and it tastes just as good. Portuguese egg tart crusts are made out of puff pastries while Chinese egg tarts are made out of shortcrust casing like a cheesecake crust. The puff pastries makes it flaky and less doughy. The custard is also less eggy and more creamy in the Portuguese version. I also got the Macau Dolgona coffee no boba with half and half. So good! Must try. You have to really stir to mix it all. This kiosk stand is literally between Gap and Banana Republic, more so towards Gap. Make sure to eat it when it's warm and it takes like 3 bites.
