Maybe you shouldn't try to charge ppl for a 1 dollar bag when I already paid 25cents initially (and no mention of said 1 dollar anywhere). If you didn't have a bigger size bag I would understand, but you did and didn't say up front it wouldn't fit my items and I would need to pay more. Have been a fan of Paris baguette for years. Their cakes are 'light' yet flavorful. Pastries are wonderful. I ordered their large size of birthday cake before for kids bday parties and it was a hit. This location is very convenient, right in the downtown of Millbrae with loads of parking around. It is right next to Safeway and trader Joe, making a visit to bakery so easy. Their service is a hit and miss. It has gotten a bit better these days. But a few years back, I had a lot of issues with ordering items... eg they don't understand what "assorted" means etc. I mostly visit here on Sunday mornings. Majority of the time, the lines are reasonable. But they do rush the orders. So you want to be prepared.... I like their award system. Today I ordered the sweet rice donut which had a red bean filling...my favorite filling. This was super chewy and very much like a fried Mochi dessert. It was my favorite of the bunch. Yummy!!! This is a great place for a morning breakfast pastries and great coffee. The service and the staff are always very friendly, right from 7 am and all the way to the end of the night. But I do have one little issue, or tidbit, not a complaint, but an observation I wanted to bring up. At other bakeries, donut shops and coffee houses, at opening time, they all (for the most part) will have a lot of various items and selections of baked goods available to sell. I've been at PB different times in the morning to see how the selections are, and at least for me, I seem to see the counters filled up with a lot of selections after about 8 to 8:30 am, generlaly. So if I stop here on my way to the office at 7 am to pick up a variety of pastries, I wont have as much of a selection to pick from versus if i come in an hour or so later for more available options. Me and my lady love this place. The place is always clean, bright and makes you feel like you are somewhere else. You know, Paris maybe (never been), but has that vibe. If you wanna see an assortment of baked goodies, you'll find it here and it will blow away. They also have cakes and slices of cakes, deeelicious. Every time I visit, I try to sit in the front of the eating area. As long as it's cold and not cold, they open up the windows and it's almost like eating on the patio. I was in the area once and I was looking for a place where I could grab lunch to go. I remembered they also make sandwiches and have premade salads. They were both pretty damn good! I stopped by to pick up some baked goods for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised to see they started to offer vegan muffins. They have a blueberry and chocolate chip muffin. For those who are lactose intolerant the mini bon delicieux is also available. In the past I had been to Paris and was never able to find products without milk. I arrived at the bakery around 7:15 am. Just note they open at 7 am so most of their goodies are not out by that time. The selection is very limited until they slowly bring out more items. I was looking for a quick snack and stumbled upon this place. The selection isn't what I expected, I felt like I didn't have much to pick from. Usually when I walk into an Asian bakery I pick up more items, but this time I only picked up a hot dog bun and a matcha cream-filled croissant. Both were $4-5 each. The hot dog bun was fine, nothing to rave about. The matcha cream croissant was bigger and filled with a good amount of cream. I would describe the cream to be like what you find in Papa Beard's puffs, had a good texture and not sweet. The croissant itself was good but nothing amazing that I would go back for. I was rung up by someone who seemed like it was her first day on the job. I walked up to her and she immediately called for I think the manager and had to get step by step instructions on how to find the items on the screen, ring me up, find the box, and how to bag my items. I was the only one there at 12pm so I didn't expect to be used as a training customer. The place itself is very clean and items placed neatly. First day working over here in Burlingame and wanted a snack before new hire orientation. On a exploration drive, came across this bakery. Yes, it feels sparse inside but there was enough for a quick grab and go. Picked up the pain du chocolate and the ham and cheese croissant. Line is sooooo slow. While waiting in line, I was looking at the pastries in the case. Gorgeous but way too expensive for the size. The rainbow slice was almost $7 and tiny. I suppose there are folks who buy them otherwise they wouldn't be in business. Always support local even if not perfect. Came here the last day before the stay-at-home order. I was once again the only person in the whole bakery. Seems like they are attempting to be more sanitary now, no more tongs with the tray. Now they provide a small or large box to-go boxes to put items in. Much better system than the old way. On this occasion I got a cream cheese danish and ham and cheese croissant for about $7 total. Prices seemed to have went up as well. Paris Baguette is still a decent spot to get pastries or cakes. The employees are efficient with little interaction with customers. I have a love/hate relationship with Paris Baguette but I can't deny this place has a special place in my heart due to the nostalgia it inspires in me, especially since I used to be a diehard fanatic of this chain and even got my first job @ PB hahaha. Love: I am a big pastry lover and sweet tooth girl so I really can't fault them for having such a large selection of the baked goods that bring such joy to my heart. Croissants, bread, buns, cakes, macarons, and everything else that makes this world wonderful. All pretty standard but I find myself feeling very grateful that this spot exists whenever I get hit with a random mid-week croissant craving. You can't go wrong with the croissants here, which they have in a variety of flavors / fillings (chocolate, almond, matcha, etc). I also really like their chiffon cakes! Hate: pretty slow and sometimes dismissive / rude service. Definitely not the most personable experience ordering here. I also wouldn't recommend their coffee or drinks or their counter salads / food. Overall, this spot isn't anything special and not going to have the worlds best croissant or life changing pastries compared to other smaller local businesses, but it sure is a nice-to-have for the little city of Millbrae. read more

Needed a last-minute birthday cake and Paris Baguette delivers! Maybe not the fanciest cake - but cute enough to not want to eat and tasty enough to not regret destroying it ;) Honestly, the pastries themselves look okay (usually kind of stale to be honest) but the birthday cakes are pretty on point! They're definitely on the pricier side (like $20-35), but it's hard to find anything cheaper without going to Safeway or such (nothing wrong with that, but definitely not as cute). So yeah, the cakes here are pretty good. We've gotten cakes from the "best bakeries" in SF (and they look magnificent). But somehow, Paris Baguette balances "fanciness", "eat-able", and "convenient" for us Peninsula-residing folk. (For those who are studying or work remotely, this place is great for that provided it's not too crowded and you have an unlimited data plan. The parking here is super easy, there's plenty of other shops you can visit (Jamba, Starbucks, Pete's, Safeway, Trader Joe's, Eggettes, and more!). The minuses are, it can get super crowded during random hours. And the wifi isn't always that reliable (hence the data plan.) Personally, I hate working solo in public because it's hard to go the bathroom without having to pack up all your valuables and then having to awkwardly save your own seat. But with a friend, it's super nice and a great change of pace (and you can munch on things while you work!) read more

Horrible experience. I ordered a specialty cake for my wedding from their online ordering system. I called a week and a half before the pickup to confirm my order and they could not find it in the system, then they found my order. I called the day before I needed to pick up my cake just to double check, and they said they could not find my order because they were looking under my name, not the person who was picking up the cake, they also requested I change my pickup time (I was only notified of this literally the day before pickup). This caused me unnecessary stress and overall, the person I spoke to on the phone sounded very disorganized. However THE WORST part was the cake did NOT look like what was pictured at all. It's supposed to be smooth and have round balls as decorative borders, looking like a string of pearls, with smaller round balls arranged in 3's around the whole cake (see circled part), but instead the cake we got had tacky piped edges (not smooth round balls), and did not have the 3 circular balls. We had to go back inside and request them to fix it. Even then, they did not fix the takcy piped edges. See photos of the actual cake, and what it is supposed to look like in the catalog. It took 40 minutes to pick up the cake, making us late, and my parents had to rush to finish getting ready for the wedding, Would NOT recommend this Paris Baguette location to anyone. read more

They have a variety of savory and sweet pastries as well as cakes and drinks. Overall their prices are on the more expensive side but their pastries are just so pretty! We got the red bean pastry ($3.20), which was a flaky croissant-like log filled with tons of pastry cream and a bit of red bean. I am a fan of Paris Baguette and was not sure why this location received such low reviews. I brought my 2 little ones with me and can now understand what could use improvement. The way the pastries are stationed is wide open and with everything happening with covid you would think they would have at least installed clear shield signs that say don't touch the pastry. My son immediately went up and touched 3 which I bought! Staff are masked up, but when it was my turn to pay I couldn't hear the cashier over the music or people right behind me. Oh man, don't even start with me. Came here during my lunch today, Saturday, Feb 11, 2023 around 12:15p to look for a birthday cake when there was already a long line. So I waited for the cashier to help me out and this Asian lady named m Eun, helped me. She was nice at first, but oh boy, she got pissed at me when I couldn't decide which cake I wanted between chocolate chiffon or regular chocolate cake. So I finally picked chocolate cake to write down Happy birthday but then I changed my mind to chiffon instead, but nothing has been written on yet coz I told her immediately. So instead of just ringing me up while they write, and bring me my cake, Eun had me go back in the much longer line to pay because she didn't like the fact that I was indecisive of my cake flavor. I was thinking to myself, why would I do that if I stood in line and you already called me and had my cake ordered. I told her forget it, I wasn't going to stand in a long line with one cashier!!!!! That was ridiculous. Customer service was bad.!!!! Take note that there was only one register to begin with and they were slow since they had to pack the pastries being bought in the box. Now here's another funny part. I saw Eun again at South City at 3:45p. This was where I got the cake instead. The cashier already rang me up and just grabbing my cake when Eun showed up at the exact same register and said, "Oh, you're back here again!" With a sarcastic look in her face. I didn't want to see her and my blood pressure just went up but I didn't make a scene. After I left my my cake, I called Millbrae, PB and spoke to one in charge to investigate who the lady was. The guy on the phone told me it was Taylor, and she went to South City. So I called SSF, PB to ask for manager, but it was Eun who picked up. So I really don't know if that was Eun or Taylor, the lady with bad customer service back in Millbrae. I was very upset and wanted to speak to corporate but she couldn't give me the number. I'm sure if that if it was other nationalities she was helping, she would accommodate them from there before she hears a Karen treatment. Lesson learned, don't come here at all. Take your money elsewhere. You deserve to be treated fairly and not for being indecisive. There's much better cakes out there but unfortunately, I needed to come up with one badly. I also tried the cream cheese donut which was sinfully delicious. The exterior was coated with sugar so it gave me churro vibes at first. But then the texture gave me a Korean corndogs vibe lol. I don't usually go to Paris Baguette much, but today as I was driving back from Fremont after helping a friend move, I got a frantic call from my cousin. She works in the hospital and has an insane schedule. She intended to grab a cake from Paris Baguette but misremembered the time they closed, 8pm. She knew I lived close by and as a hail mary, asked if I happened to be able to grab it. I looked at the clock: 7:44pm. I was 10 min away so I said, "Technically..?? I guess I could make it. But just barely...and will they even have cakes left? ...well, I'll try." What is family for, right? As I parked and got out at 7:55pm, ready to sprint like a track star to Paris Baguette, I froze realizing I had already thrown away my sweaty mask from earlier helping my friend move... Yikes, how am I supposed to get in. Should I give up? Well I'm already here... I took off my hoodie and wrapped part of it around my mouth. As stupid as I looked, I was on a mission to get to the cake section. I took some pics of the cakes, one hand holding my phone and the other holding up my hoodie "mask". As I was in the middle of sending the pics to my cousin and asking her which cake to pick, a nice employee came over and offered me a mask :) she was REALLY sweet and I was pleasantly surprised and grateful, thanking her. I had been ready to be yelled at for coming in asking for a cake at 7:55pm lol.
