Finally!! My bf and I have been waiting for this location to open since it is WAY closer to us than the Encino one!! So hyped and what a great spot for it. There aren't really any good bakeries at all in this area! I passed by the morning of their soft opening but had already placed a mobile order for my coffee at coffee bean next door so I made it a point to come back the next morning. I was the only one there and more people showed up after. The workers were still preparing but had a bunch out in their display already. Super nice and greeted me when I entered. I walked right up to get my Iced Pistachio White Mocha Latte which I believe is seasonal so I'm getting it while I can!! Ever since my friend Alix (IG: Bbkappa) told me about it, I've been hooked. The girl didn't make it as good as I expected and wasn't able to use my discount code for signing up on the app but that's ok. I'll save it for another time. Might just be for classic coffees or something. I came back the next day and whoever made my drink, made it perfect! Just what I was used to. I love the sizes of the drinks which makes it way more worth your money. The setup of this bakery is so spacious and love the rattan seats and marble tables! Everything always looks so good and you're bound to get at least one thing if you visit. Looking forward to coming back and getting a tray full of goodies! Recently stopped by to check the place out after a friend brought a few to our house, Shop was cute with seating inside and out. Pastries are serve yourself in covered cases and there is a case of pre mays sandwiches and bottled drinks. Other drink orders or whole cakes you get at the counter. I would suggest taking a lap around and seeing what's what so you don't over purchase. Then go Back to the beginning to make your choices - when we were there someone was back tracking and not following the flow which made it difficult . We liked everything we got, some more than others but nothing was bad. I thought prices were reasonable - in the 3-4 dollar range depending what you choose. They are using good quality ingredients. A couple items were missing labels - it would be nice if staff made sure everything was labeled - we got something that looked like another bakery's guava pastry and when we got Home discovered it was apple Definitely will be back when we are in the area read more

2 stars because I enjoy coming here however it is a hit of miss. The pastries are good but there are times where I've seen flies on the food. There has also been a time 2 years ago where I found a staple in my food and when we told the worker she didn't seem to care. Just a simple "sorry" even when we asked for the manager all she said was they are in the back... the worker didn't even offer to bring the manger out or compensate our food. Some of the staff are extremely rude but food is good despite the staple and flies. read more

I've been to the original Paris baguette in Encino and remember enjoying their selection and was excited when this new one opened in northridge. Stopped by today after lunch and wow this place is nice and the selection is amazing. So many enticing items. My eyes were hungrier than my stomach so only got a couple items with the coffee cronut and the crab croquette. Definitely lots for people to try, the cake display was especially luscious and they also have drink options. Next time might get a mango smoothie. Was sad to see the bbq place close but this is a nice addition to this plaza. read more

Emiliano is the best! He's very friendly and accommodating. They ran out of the blueberry chifon cake so he gave us options and spoke to me directly and apologized. I love coming to Paris Baguette! They have such a great variety of pastries and everything I've tried has been delicious. I also enjoy getting their sandwiches and asking them to toast it. It does look like a nice place to sit and have a coffee, but honestly when I ordered online and I came to pick up, they told me that they were out of the sandwich that I wanted, which should be updated online cause I was hoping to eat what I ordered which to be honest it's not a huge deal but the reason why I'm pointing is out is it because the second time I tried them out, I ordered a pastry, Frank, which I wanted warmed up the employee put it in the oven to heat up, but I saw the him take it out 10 seconds earlier which I thought maybe he knows what he's doing so when I started to eat my pastry it was slightly warm, but the inside was cold so I immediately threw it away. I will definitely skip this spot next time. I'd rather try Portos since I feel like employees really take serving a customer serious. read more

Stopped by to pick up a birthday cake, unfortunately they were sold out. However, the staff were able to help us pack individual pieces in a cake box. The. Cakes themselves are so airy & light. There was a young man at the counter who welcomed us with a wonderful smile. He said his name is Said (pronounced Sa-eed) and asked if it was our first time here. We said it was, so he offered to give us some samples of their most popular bake goods. He said it is made of light custard and it's called soft cake and it is traditional pastry from his country in Uzbekistan that his mother bakes all from scratch. In Asia we also don't like overly sweet cakes so we thought it sounded to fit our taste preferences. And we loved it after trying! My mom said it tastes very similar to the cake she had back in Seoul in her childhood she misses fondly, but she could never have that same taste. Just a little sweeter. But the custard and texture of the cake is just the same. We also got the eclair. And it was pretty good too. But definitely recommend the soft cake!! Sooo yummyyy!! I also got the strawberry cold foam matcha latte and my mom got a small americano coffee. She said it's the best coffee she had in a cafe. Of course superb compared to Starbucks or any other coffee franchise. She says American coffee shops always burn their beans so it tastes burnt, but this place roasted the beans just right. And we also loved the strawberry cold foam matcha. I don't know how, but it tasted like really strawberry was in the drink!! My mom said it's the best strawberry milk she ever had here and in Korea! Some of these cafes take forever to make your drinks, even Starbucks makes you wait 20 minutes! These other coffee shops make it seem like they're doing some complex chemistry experiment how long it takes for just a drink! But this young guy he makes the drink in under 5 min and it tastes 10x better anything those other coffee shops make, but in less than half the time! I really thought maybe it was really hard making drinks, but this young dude makes it look like a walk in the park, the speed and ease he cranks out the drinks. I think Uzbekistan people must be just built different! and he was also so kind and pleasant taking the time to explain and answer all our questions. Some of these other places wouldn't even bother or make it feel like you're pulling a nail from them the way they grimace. He was so nice we wanted to give a tip, but he even said he didn't want us to. He'd happily accept just our enjoying the food and drinks and would appreciate if we left a review for his cafe. just had to leave a review. Especially after how nice he is. And hearing his story and how it's a family run bakery with the mom baking and son making drinks and running front counter. And an authentic European bakery!! Wow! Aren't we so glad they moved into our neighborhood! A Real quality cafe I didn't even know what I was missing until I stepped into this little shop by mere chance! I Will definitely come by again. This review is long overdue…read more I've been a House Roots regular since they opened their SFV shop many years ago and frequent the bakery as well. This location is the newest (only about a year or so?) of the three. Each store has a similar and yet distinct style/focus. This shop is located on the ground level of an apartment/leasing space, so if you're not looking for it, it can be missed/mistaken. Parking at first glance also seems difficult but don't worry, there's plenty in the parking garage behind the shop/ below the apartment building. The shop itself is beautiful! Compared to the other two locations, this location is most spacious; There's outdoor seating as well and indoor seating. It's pretty family friendly and equally accommodating to students/working professionals who need a place to do some work. There's a grab and go section, for those who need a quick bite as well as some food items- pastries and burritos. Overall, the environment is pretty relaxed and chill. As far as drinks go, I've tried several- everything from the drip, pour overs, espresso shots, americanos, sweet lattes, and pictured, both matcha and einspanner dreams from the last time I came with my husband and parents. Pricing is fair but most importantly, all their drinks are good! The espresso is good consistently which in turn makes all their coffee drinks delicious. All the speciality drinks are not overly sweet and well balanced, unless requested. Specifically from the last visit, the vanilla cream on top of the einspanner/matcha dreams were to die for. My husband, who isn't a coffee drinker also mentioned how good the matcha was, even with almond milk (he's lactose). If you want to venture out/explore something out of the usual drip or americano, I recommend the einspanner or matcha dream drinks! Besides the good coffee, all the Houseroots locations are set apart by their hospitality, and this shop is unparalleled. Every time I've come to grab a cup on my way to visit my parents or for an afternoon pick me up, all the baristas have been welcoming and warm. Northridge is always a treat, can't wait to come back when in the area!

We said it was, so he offered to give us some samples of their most popular bake goods. He said it is made of light custard and it's called soft cake and it is traditional pastry from his country in Uzbekistan that his mother bakes all from scratch. In Asia we also don't like overly sweet cakes so we thought it sounded to fit our taste preferences. And we loved it after trying! My mom said it tastes very similar to the cake she had back in Seoul in her childhood she misses fondly, but she could never have that same taste. Just a little sweeter. But the custard and texture of the cake is just the same. We also got the eclair. And it was pretty good too. But definitely recommend the soft cake!! Sooo yummyyy!! I also got the strawberry cold foam matcha latte and my mom got a small americano coffee. She said it's the best coffee she had in a cafe. Of course superb compared to Starbucks or any other coffee franchise. She says American coffee shops always burn their beans so it tastes burnt, but this place roasted the beans just right. And we also loved the strawberry cold foam matcha. I don't know how, but it tasted like really strawberry was in the drink!! My mom said it's the best strawberry milk she ever had here and in Korea! And she wants to order again when we come by next time. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Food and drinks were all prepared with such care, but given at a reasonable time. Some of these cafes take forever to make your drinks, even Starbucks makes you wait 20 minutes! These other coffee shops make it seem like they're doing some complex chemistry experiment how long it takes for just a drink! But this young guy he makes the drink in under 5 min and it tastes 10x better anything those other coffee shops make, but in less than half the time! I really thought maybe it was really hard making drinks, but this young dude makes it look like a walk in the park, the speed and ease he cranks out the drinks. I think Uzbekistan people must be just built different! and he was also so kind and pleasant taking the time to explain and answer all our questions. Some of these other places wouldn't even bother or make it feel like you're pulling a nail from them the way they grimace. He was so nice we wanted to give a tip, but he even said he didn't want us to. He'd happily accept just our enjoying the food and drinks and would appreciate if we left a review for his cafe. just had to leave a review. Especially after how nice he is. And hearing his story and how it's a family run bakery with the mom baking and son making drinks and running front counter. And an authentic European bakery!! Wow! Aren't we so glad they moved into our neighborhood! A Real quality cafe I didn't even know what I was missing until I stepped into this little shop by mere chance! I Will definitely come by again. And anyone else who discovers this little gem would be so lucky and blessed as us!

The other one had 2 Oreo taiyakis, which I was ordering for someone else. Before I took a bite, I realized that the labels were mixed up. Thankfully, Oreo taiyakis are easy to tell apart. Still, I suggest the staff pay really close attention to small details like that. They're still trying to settle in so I can give them a pass this time around. Overall, I'd happily deal with the long line for another soft serve and taiyaki. I don't even know of anywhere else in the Valley that serves taiyaki. Good luck guys!

Today my husband, who is very picky, decided to try their lahmajun for the first time. He loved it! It was crisp, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. That was another win for Papillon.
