    Almond croissant I brought home
    J R.

Sadly, they have shut their doors for good. Yesterday (August 30, 2026) was their finale. I bought two almond croissants for old time's same. Cost me $16 and change. Sorry to see them go, but it was coming.

The lavender latte was not as flavorful as we had hoped, however the dulce de leche latte was tasty. We did not try any of the bakery items however they did look beautiful and fresh.

I had a delicious cherry croissant and clam chowder bread bowl at this cafe. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the free hot coffee they had at this location! The cherry croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, with the acidity of the cherry adding just the right kick to this breakfast pastry. I was initially hesitant on getting the clam chowder at a bakery and was thinking of getting it at a seafood restaurant on Cannery Row, but the reviews were glowing and the price was reasonable. I'm glad I took a chance on it, because the bowl was chockful with clams, potatoes, celery, and a briny creamy seafood broth base. The ambiance in this bakery is great- there's a beautiful wall mural on the back wall of this bakery and lots of inside seating. Don't miss out on this spot!

First off, I must say the servers at this Paris Bakery Cafe location were exceedingly kind, and what was going to be a quick coffee turned into the perfect brunch to start our day. While "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" was playing gently in the background, even my 4-year old daughter had an opinion, "The Bakery's cute, Mom!" I definitely enjoyed my coffee and ham & egg croissant, and I was too eager to eat it to take a better picture... My son got a BLT and wifey went with a salad - they were all solid choices, and everything felt fresh, healthy, and delicious. I wish I had a bakery like this closer to home!

Do not get scammed. Stopped by this French bakery last month with my wife. We've been here a few times in past years before 2022 whenever we visited Monterey and it was always decent. It now feels like just another tourist trap like on cannery row. Ridiculous prices for sub par product. Red hair worker was rude and unhelpful. Tell me why they have the old owners family's plaque was there with THEIR achievements of having a business in Monterey for 20+ years ,when this new owner has been here for maybe 2 or 3. Seems very disingenuous if not fraudulent.

Amazing we definitely will be going back- last year we went to seaside location- today we went to the Monterey location. Everything from pastries sweet & savory sandwiches, cookies, cakes & bread- chocolate crescents ask for them to be heated up. So much chocolate & wonderful pasty.

One of my favorite bakeries in Monterey, my mom and I love to come here and now I come with my husband! I am a fruit tart gal and I think they have the best tarts, fruit is so fresh and sweet and their coffee is nice and smooth! I love it but it's a tiny bit expensive fyi - totally worth it! Staff is nice and helpful, the owner or I think is the manager is super sweet! Love it!

Cinnamon Twist: A bit dry and overly flaky. I was hoping for a stronger cinnamon flavor. My least favorite one. 5/10 Ham and Cheese Croissant: It was alright, but felt a bit flat. Probably would've been better warmed up. 6/10 Cheese Danish: I loved how generous they were with the cream cheese, every bite had plenty! Definitely a highlight. 7.5/10 Almond Croissant: One of my favorites! The white chocolate drizzle added a nice touch of sweetness that paired well with the almond. I really liked this one. 8.5/10 Chocolate Croissant: The chocolate had a slightly chalky texture, which threw it off a bit. Still decent overall. 7/10 Croissant Sandwich: Felt a bit flat and overpriced. Nothing standout just your average basic sandwich. 7/10

Good bakery with lots of different croissants, cinnamon rolls, scones, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, coffee drinks & teas to choose from. Conveniently close to Monterey's downtown Alvarado Street. We had breakfast here and were impressed by the wide variety of beautiful baked goods in their showcase. We enjoyed the strawberry almond croissant and blueberry scone. They were both delicious and a good size. I had drip coffee and they allow free refills which is nice. The coffee is a little on the weak side for me but I usually like really strong coffee. They give really big mugs for hot tea which is really nice. Pleasant place with nice sunlight in this corner location.

This is one of our favorite stops when we are visiting Monterey. It is a nice walk when we are staying near Cannery Row. This cafe is off the beaten path, located 2 blocks away from the main Alvarado Street that gets more foot traffic. There has never been a problem getting a table to eat there, but then, we tend to stop by just after the lunch rush. It can get warm when the heat form the sun comes through the windows with southern exposure. Seating in the main area is wheelchair accessible through their main corner entrance. There are a few steps going up to the back seating area ; it's technically wheelchair accessible since the cafe has another street entrance back there, however it would require you to place your order in the lower main section of the cafe, then go outside the main door and come back in through the back door. They also have a couple of tables set up outside. There's also a restroom at the cafe, which is convenient for washing hands after eating sandwiches. There are 2 sides to the cafe, a bakery side and a lunch/sandwich/salad side. They have a good variety of sandwiches, a few salads and soup. Ask them what the Soup of the Day is. My daughter loved their Tortilla Soup, but we haven't seen it there during the last few visits. Perhaps it's just bad timing that they don't have it on the days we visit. We noticed that the prices have gone up since our last visit the year before. During our latest visit, we ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich ($13), warmed, which was delicious. The BLT Sandwich ($13), also warmed, and pretty tasty. The Veggie Delight ($13) was a bit lacking, and it used to have avocado in it. Note : There is an extra "Delivery Fee" charged when you order at the cafe and dine in (see photo of receipt) . Maybe you should just order for delivery to receive the service you are automatically charged for?

Did they update their hours??? Or do they close at 2pm everyday still?

They close every day at 2pm. And closed on Tuesdays.

    Are u open?

I drove by yesterday and they were closed. Monterey is doing shelter in place and so I think they're closed because of that.

    Do they have vegan options?

Idk, but I had several questions about what they offer. Between the two ladies, they explained & explained again, they are busy, but not so busy to take their time for you.

What's keto on the dessert side?

    Cheat day.

    Any gluten free options?

Yes, they have a little sign next to the register that lists the gluten-free options

What keto options do they have?

Both the sandwich selections and some of the pastries have the properties of being keto friendly like "eggs" being used for alot of the pastries and a selection of meats for their sandwiches but I didn't see anything that is specifically for keto…

    Do they have baklava?

No, they do not have baklava as it is a French bakery.

What is the must try and the most decadent cake here? Out of towner looking for tips

Princess cake! Not bite sized and not party sized. Get the medium sized one.

    Are there vegan options?

    Yes

If you'd like to order a sandwich, there is a picnic table outside with clipboards and order sheets. You can order off their very extensive menu of sandwiches, or create your own. There is a wide variety of bread, meat, and cheese options so everyone can find something they like. Be very cautious if you order a whole sandwich because saying they are huge is an understatement. When you are ready to order, you bring the sheet to the back left deli counter where they have their display and desserts. While we waited for our sandwiches, we took some time to look around the market. It is fantastic! The decor is lovely. The items they have in stock is also impressive. They have your basic items like chips and soda, but also a large international snack section. There are shelves of foreign chip flavors and drinks which is very neat. They also have a super wide variety of domestic products that you can't typically find everywhere. I was thoroughly impressed with all they have to offer. The sandwich itself was the cherry on the cake. It was the biggest sandwich I have ever seen. I was shocked at how thick and heavy it was. It was incredibly affordable too! It tasted delicious and very fresh. I will definitely be a repeat customer whenever I am in the area.

When we arrived they had a small parking lot but busy because they do a lot of Door Dash and Uber Eats business. Once inside I took a quick look at the menu and saw they had breakfast burritos of either Chorizo-Sausage-Ham-Bacon or Veggie. I chose Chorizo breakfast burrito($10.39) The shop is run by the owner-he was the cashier and the cook. In talking to him,he was telling me that his family owns multiple Mexican small shops like this in the Juarez Mexico area and El Paso Texas area.Says that all the shops use the same recipe for their hot sauce that is served with the burritos. Once the burrito arrived,it was both heavy and warm.Once I cut it open,I was able to appreciate the craftsmanship of this burrito in all its chorizo, egg, potato and cheese glory-it was beautiful. As pretty as it was though,it tasted even better,I had planned on only eating half of it as I had a tee time in less than an hour but one bite led to another and then it was gone. I've had many breakfast burritos in my day and as unexpected as this is to say, this may have been the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Also the aforementioned family-recipe hot sauce that came with the burrito was so spicy yet so tasty--perfect combo to a perfect burrito.
