Outstanding dinning experience. Super good food. Clean comfortable environment. Friendly staff

    Two eggs and hash browns

We met there for a business call and had coffee and some light breakfast items. Oatmeal, Eggs and hash Browns and their croissant beignets! I enjoyed my coffee and relaxed while waiting for my guests. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We placed our orders and were served fairly quick. Definitely a neat diner with a history!

Great experience as always, if you have any issues just call or speak up. They will resolve.

    Omelette

The beignets were great very airy, not too sweet make sure to eat them fresh. The omelette was create your own but good ingredients overall. The French toast had a very prominent vanilla flavor and was very sweet but very good. The burrito chimichanga style was amazing. The burrito was very greasy should come with some salsa on the side too to cut through that. The side of hash browns was the real star in all honesty so airy and crispy the best I've ever had. The service was quick and constant attention. The tables are weirdly close together which is interesting.

This place is so good. Feels like your at your friends house getting a bite to eat with your crew. I sat at the bar and loved seeing how the employees interacted with all the customers. The place has a great diner vibe. It's perfect for feeling welcome. Now for the food.... I had the chicken and sausage gumbo two days in a row I enjoyed it so much. The first night I had red Beans and Rice which was really good especially paired with the Gator Sausage. The second day I had the shrimp and angel hair pasta in a really good cream sauce. I almost licked the plate clean.... While I didn't have a lot of time to try several places I would say this is the place to eat in the area hands down!!!

    Onion rings

The onions rings here are amazing! The servers are pretty good they're nice and friendly. They have a long bar to sit at and a few booths I think and tables. We sat in a corner where the walls were pretty nasty, like they never clean this place at all. The garlic cheese bread was good but the "marinara" that it came with didn't quite taste like any marinara sauce I've ever had. Almost tasted Mexican like- it was strange but it wasn't bad. I got the crazy Cajun poboy which is hot sausage and fried shrimp...not a fan. I don't think those 2 things combine together too well in one, but the shrimp was good, and the sausage was ok. They definitely have some very unique menu items, combining foods together like I've never heard. I encourage others to go get their own opinion but I wasn't crazy for this spot

I've been having to cut back on fried/greasy/fatty foods lately, so I was excited to see that this place offers grilled and blacked options for some entries. I placed my to-go order over the phone easily enough, and has only a brief wait when I arrived before my food was ready. I got the blackened catfish with corn and rice & gravy, plus bread pudding for dessert. The fish was well cooked, nicely seasoned, and refreshing for not being fried. The bread pudding was very tasty too, with strawberries, blueberries, and white chocolate. If you're looking for seafood but don't want it fried (or boiled), give this place a try.

This is the perfect spot to come here with the family for some breakfast. You can tell a lot of the locals love this place. We had a 30 minute wait for breakfast and everyone was willing to wait because the food is that good. The grits here are pretty good too!

    I got a handful of fries ...

I've only gotten takeout i've never actually dined in so i can't say anything abt the customer service & personally the food is really good but the prices for what you're getting are unreal. Here i got 2 BLT Sandwiches with a side of fries & it was 19.45$ . Both my Sandwiches looked like that picture & a handful of fries ... Really. All for a good price of 19.45$ Unbelievable. This whole meal is maybe 12$ at best.

    Chicken and waffles

The chicken had a maple with bacon taste with outside being nice and crispy. Comes with a side of 2 eggs. Serving size is big enough for 2 people.

Chicken fried chicken meal - enough to feed 2 people!

Sat down immediately, they had the football games on tv and the outside area was jam packed with kids at a family event. I also never took a chance to admire the wall art, the flowers were a standout. I did notice a lot of tables were pretty dirty and could use a wipe down; I also noticed our table wasn't exactly sparkling either. The waitress basically told us she was burnt out - she was human and down to earth. Spoiler: she was excellent! Chips and salsa came out. Worth noting the first one had a sweeter taste and the second had a spicier taste. Some may call this inconsistent, but I saw it as a sign that it's homemade. Additionally we ordered a SMALL guacamole, and the small is massive. Tasty, full bodied, my only gripe is that I wish it was a bit chunkier on the avocado end. I ordered the smoked chicken smothered burrito and this thing was gigantic. Partner ordered poblanos with smoked pork. Both dishes are a super generous portion and delicious. Big thing here: I think between the meats and the smoked pinto beans it's worth noting that it blurs the line between its own identity and its sister restaurant of CCBBQ. This is NOT a bad thing, as the smokier flavor profile gives this Tex-Mex a unique angle. May I suggest a smoked salsa of sorts?? Only real miss was that we ordered a side of street corn; while it looked the part and was totally loaded up, it was utterly bland. Tough to accomplish this with street corn, I'm curious what could have gone wrong especially given that it looked beautiful. Two sodas, an appetizer, two entrees, and a bonus side dish came out to $59. I find this to be right on par! I will admit, the alcohol is way overpriced, I've noticed from my other visits. I only drink when it's taco Tuesday/happy hour. But for the price of a non-alcoholic, FULL course lunch, it's perfect. Been back before, and I'll be back again. Great job LC.

I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, very generous serving of pork on the sandwich and the fries were some of the best I have ever had. Kinda flat french fries, yum. Wife had the grilled chicken enchiladas with refried beans and she said the enchiladas were full of chicken and were delicious. She also had a small cheese dip which was a very generous portion. We will be back. The lunch menu is a real deal with our selections today costing $10 each.

Large waiting area to stand and wait near the hostess station. Also has a bar area which looks like first come, first serve. We ordered drinks while we waited and hung out in the lobby area. Finally we were sat. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought right away. We Ordered drinks and the chorizo queso, which came fairly quickly. The queso is HOT, bubbling in a volcanic rock molcajete. Sooo good. Strongly suggest this item! I ordered the Tacos Tijuana (lengua). My husband ordered grilled fish tacos and an ala carte cheese quesadilla. The food was great. Lengua was a little dry- I know it's lean but it was not as juicy and gamey as I like. No other complaints except the guacamole that came with my tacos tasted artificial or "off". It also stayed very green throughout the meal which tells me there is either a lot of lemon or it is premade with something to make it not oxidate like fresh avocados. It was just not great guacamole. The frijoles charro on the other hand were excellent! Lots of flavor, pork, cooked nicely and seasoned well. I could eat that by itself. I will for sure be back.

Honestly, it's nothing like the restaurant I was the first to review a couple years or so ago. Nothing here is the same except the peach margaritas. The food was a complete let down. No idea who is in the kitchen now but none of my usual favs here tasted the same. I didn't recognize and didn't eat the Carnitas. This was a serious disappointment. I literally had no idea what this was when I tasted it. Not carnitas. The enchiladas were also not good at all. But I managed to eat the meat inside, as I needed to eat something. The staff was more interested in looking at their phones and talking to each other at the bar than service. However our Server was friendly. It's clear that this location needs its old chef, and old staff back. The ones who made great food, and gave extremely good service. The ones that made you feel welcomed and at home as soon as you entered the door. Otherwise, this is a waste of their time and the customers. Honestly, if I had the heart to completely give up on this local favorite, I would have given them 1 star. But I'm hoping they can bring it back.

On our last visit the fajitas were incredibly salty and we did not even finish them. Well, THEY ARE BACK! I am very happy to say this! We went there last week and had the chicken and steak fajitas and they were incredible once again. Great flavor, well seasoned, cooked to perfection. I have one big complaint, however, and it has something to do with their supplier. In my wife's and my opinion, the shells they provide to you for the fajitas are an absolute joke. Taco Bell's shells are larger. Every other Mexican food restaurant I have gone to are larger. Really, guys, I don't want to hear about your supplier, I could not care less and really do not want excuses. Then, the bartender has the Gaul to tell us that they are designed more for pushing than making a fajita! DO NOT tell me how to eat my meal and do not come up with such a poor excuse. This place has great Margaritas. Donnie is an incredible chef putting out the best Fajitas in the city! Once I ordered, the food and drinks came out quickly. The 'unlimited' mimosas actually cap at 5, which is fine, but the mix they use cheapens the drink, and the glasses weren't the cleanest. The birria and grits were good (about a 7/10), though I think the pre-shredded Mexican blend cheese on top took away from the dish. A traditional white cheese would have worked better. The birria tacos were tasty, though. The bathrooms could use attention as there were no paper towels, which makes me wonder what employees do after washing their hands. Overall, it was a good experience and definitely cost-efficient. With a few tweaks to the drinks and presentation, this place could easily go from a 3-star to a 4- or 5-star brunch spot. I'll be back to try the tacos and check out the unlimited margaritas.
